"what is it that you desire the most?"

They ask.

And I ask myself, "what is it?  That I want above all?"

A great love?

A happy ending?

My own fairytale?

Maybe it is

Unceasing joy,

New hope,

A saving grace.

Maybe it is

A pot of gold,

Newfound fame,

Or a pretty face?

Or maybe what I truly want— no, what I truly need— is new beginning.

A 'gone off the face of the earth' new beginning

A 'leave everything behind' new beginning,

A 'don't think twice just go' new beginning.

The kind of fresh start the makes you question all that you thought you knew. 

What I want is not to run away.

I want to begin anew.
