Chapter 28

Gabriel's POV

We are on our way to Ivor's fortress.

I still have trouble remembering who's who, but I believe Ivor is the man with red hair riding with the man with the beard.

Or is that Soren?

Whoever they are, they want to defeat that thing that was chasing the amulet.

Petra, the girl that needed help rescuing her friend, hasn't spoken since she died in the cave.

Of course she gave the bald man back the green armour, but everything else she had on her.

"Looks like a storms coming." The girl who steers my horse points out.

I think she called herself Olivia...

Petra looks up from her pure white horse, seeing the storm clouds rolling in.

"You know, I haven't seen clouds like this since Endercon." The man with the beard points out.

That gets Petra's attention.

Endercon.... That sounded familiar.

"Um, whats Endercon?" I whisper to Olivia.

She has been a bit down cast since the cave too, since her friend, Axle, and the bald man and the other woman left with that amulet thing, and when the blond boy with the animal head mark went to find his friends.

I thought it was omlet, but they corrected me.

"Endercon is a big convention. There are booths filled with things to buy and meet and greets with heroes. You were the one everyone wanted to see." She explains.

Me?

I was a hero.

Lightning strikes the ground close by.

"We need to take shelter before this gets bad!" The red haired man shouts.

He was really strange.

Whenever we saw an Enderman he would start humming a weird tune.

I didn't get it, but Petra had strange moments too.

Whenever no one would speak during the ride she would put these weird purple things on her head attached to a glowing block by what looked like black string.

Once she had those on she couldn't hear anyone.

It was weird.

But she kept them off most of the time.

"How much farther Ivor? I'm getting really tiered." Olivia groans.

Ivor stops his horse just as rain begins to hit the ground around us.

Rain felt weird, and I decided I didn't like rain.

It made me feel sad.

"Fine. We will stop here." The man, Ivor, growls.

Before we can even get our horses under the trees, Petra stops, as if a unheard sound reached her ears.

"Did you guys hear that?" She asks, making all of us shocked that she actually spoke.

We shake out heads.

That is, until another bolt of lighting strikes the ground not too far away from me.

I jump, making Soren laugh.

At least I think that's Soren...

Probably.

Either that or he's Ellegaurd....

Not a clue.

Petra drops the lead of her horse out of no where, running out into the pouring rain.

"Petra! Come back!" Olivia shouts, but to no avail.

The red head was too far out by then to hear her shout.

Petra's POV

I don't know why, but something seemed to be calling me this way, but as I run towards where my heart seems to be tugging me, wind blasts in my face, making it hard to move forward.

Lightning strikes the ground all around me, making my eyes water from the wind, and from fear.

What the hell am I walking into?

That's when feel as if the wind stops, just out of nowhere.

No rain.

No lightning.

No clouds.

Just a patch of sunshine in the middle of the storm.

With what looks like a limp body laying in the middle of it.

My breathing stops, making me almost fall backwards.

Those overalls....

Without realizing it my feet had slowly started to edge towards the girl on the ground.

This can't be right.

The girl takes a gasping breath, making her chest rise softly, and not uneven.

Her black hair with the orangey-yellow clip couldn't be mistaken for anyone else.

But I needed to see her awake.

Her eyes struggle open, her blocky emerald eyes connecting with mine.

Tears overflow from my eyes.

"I have to be dreaming." I say breathlessly.

The girl lifts herself up off the ground.

"You're not Petra. Its me." She says.

Anger fills me.

"What the hell Jessie! You scared me!" I shout, hitting her hard in the shoulder.

She rubs her arm in pain, but before she can do much else I'm hugging her tightly, feeling tears leak from my eyes.

"I'm sorry. But did you really think it was that easy to kill me?" She jokes, making me chuckle.

I back away from her, but we stay fairly close together.

"How did you get back?" I ask, making her sigh.

"Turns out the way to get back to my world is to die in this world." She explains, making my eyes widen.

She got home.

But she came back.

"Why would you come back?" I counter, making her look away.

"I couldn't just leave you all stranded now could I?" She pauses, finally looking up at me.

"Besides. I have a few unfinished things to take care of, that might take the rest of my life." She explains, making my heart stop.

Wait... That would mean...

"So you're staying?" I ask quietly, not sure why I'm so nervous about that.

She lifts my head with her hand slightly so that I have to look at her.

"Yeah. I'm here to stay." She states, making my stomach turn.

"For good."

.....

Lol. I still can't get over the fact that you all fell for my prank. Anyway! I hope you liked the chapter! And more is on the way soon, maybe not tonight, but soon!

P.S:

Just hope I don't start talking in riddels at one point in my authors notes.😉
