Chapter 26
Petra's POV
Jessie is laying on the ground, struggling to get up.
Lukas and I lift her to her feet, making her cough violently.
We shouldn't have let her do that.
"Jessie? You doing okay?" I ask.
She looks up, her eyes pale and filled with pain.
"Where is Reuben." She croaks, making me confused.
Reuben?
"Hey! Hero girl!" Magnus calls from the sidelines.
Jessie's head turns, and immediately its like she forgets she's sick.
She stumbles over, kneeling beside Magnus, who supports Reuben's head.
He winces in pain, looking up at Jesse.
"Reub?" She questions, taking his hand in hers.
He looks up, his brown eyes meeting hers.
The rest if us stand back, not sure how to respond to this.
Reuben...
Of all people why him?
We all watch numbly as Jessie holds her brother, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Jessie. You can still get home. Finish this." He whispers.
The others don't seem to hear as Olivia hides in Axle's side, and Lukas looks down, his hands clasped together.
Magnus is still beside Jessie, with Ellegaurd and Soren behind him.
"No. I'm not doing this without you." She cries.
This was tearing out my heart.
"You're going to have to." He whispers, his eyes closing momentarily.
They open up again.
"Jessie. Look. All those people." He whispers, making her look over at all the people.
So many people trudge their way from the dead storm, looking bruised and battered.
"You need to help them. You need to help all of them." He whispers, making Jessie's eyes tear up even more.
"But, how am I going to do this without you?" She asks, her voice cracking.
I'm not sure what to do.
I don't feel as if its my place to go forward and comfort her.
But it takes every last muscle to hold myself back.
"Jessie. Just, making it through this." He says, his voice trailing.
His head goes limp in her arms.
"No." She whispers as he poofs away, leaving behind some random items.
She sits there on her knees for a moment, then she looks up at Magnus.
"I'm sorry Jessie. I didn't see the tentacle. If I had maybe I could ha-" she cuts him off.
"No Magnus. What's done is done. And besides, Reuben made his move." She says, her voice sounding seconds from breaking.
Now is when I can't take it anymore.
I walk over and kneel beside her, making her look over at me.
Crying wasn't a look I liked seeing her with.
"Jessie, I'm so sorry." I whisper.
Before I can do much else she wraps her arms around my neck and hugs me, making me freeze.
But then my brain decides to work again and I hug her back.
"He's gone!" She wails, making me rub her back.
"Shh... Jessie. We are right here." I whisper.
I hadn't ever expected that Jessie could bawl her eyes out.
But under the circumstances, I believe its a pretty good cause.
We sit there for a while, just letting Jessie cry, until coughing erupts from her, making her pull away from me.
She leans her head on my shoulder.
"Are you okay?" I ask cautiously, even though I know the answer is no.
She breathes heavily.
"I need to go help them." She whispers, look out at all the people.
I help her to her feet, supporting her.
"Jessie, I hate to tell you that you need to help yourself for once." I state.
Her eyes look up at me in a way the breaks my heart a thousand times over.
"I need to do this Petra." She states firmly.
With a nod I help her towards the storm, the others staying behind to help the people coming towards them.
Together we lift a tentacle off a man stuck beneath it.
"If you keep going that way our friends will help you." Jessie says, making the man nods his thanks.
We keep going, helping anyone on the way, until we stop dead.
"No! The Formidibomb was supposed to destroy it! But there isn't even a scratch!" She cries, making me gape.
Not even a dent.
"How isn't it broken?" I wonder.
Before she can even try to answer, the commamdblock activates, and pulls her forward.
"Petra!" She screams, making me jump.
I grip onto her foot, trying to drag her down.
But her boot slips off, making me fall hard onto the ground.
"Help!" She yelps.
In the blink of an eye someone else has pulled Jessie down.
She gasps.
"Gabriel? We all thought you were dead!" I gasp, making him look over to us.
"Who's Gabriel?" He asks, staring at us with pink eyes.
Jessie and I share a look.
Then, a growl sounds through the air.
Then two more.
"Now there are three of them?!" Jessie cries, making my eyes widen.
We only made it worse.
"We need to get out of here!" I shout, taking Jessie and Gabriel by the hand, dragging them away.
But we don't get far when Jessie falls, coughing violently.
Gabriel yanks his hand away from me.
"Who are you? And who's Gabriel?" He asks.
I can't deal with this right now.
"Look. She's really sick, and I can't carry her by myself. Please, help me get her to safety." I beg, making Gabriel stare at Jessie, who is recoiling as she coughs.
"I don't know if I trust you, but I will help." He states, helping me lift Jessie to her feet.
We both take one side, barely letting her feet touch the ground as we run.
"Just hold on Jessie." I whisper, seeing that her eyes are closed.
We run forward to find Axle standing there, looking for us.
"Whoa! You found Gabriel?!" He exclaims.
Gabriel just looks confused, but before he can ask what seems to be his catchphrase, Axle spots the almost passed out Jessie.
He leads the way, making all of us run forward.
"Guys! We need to find a faster way of travel!" Axle calls ahead.
Olivia rushes forward at the first sight of Jessie.
"What happened to her?" She asks, making me sigh.
"We need to get her somewhere safe to rest." I state, making her nod her agreement.
There are horses running away fro mthe storm, giving me an idea.
"Guys! Get on a horse!" I shout.
The others go for all the others, but one is left.
Its pure white except for the hair, which is a really dark color that looks almost blue.
I jump on, taming it instantly.
Without any hesitation I ride over to Jesse, stopping in front of her.
I lift her onto the horse.
"Lukas! Get Gabriel!" I shout.
Luckily he's already on it, nodding over to me.
Jessie wraps her arms weakly around my waist as I steer the horse forward, leading the group.
"We need to find someplace safe where we can rest!" I shout to all of them.
Soren, Magnus and Ellegaurd are all on a horse together somehow.
Axle and Olivia ride on another, while Lukas is on another one with Gabriel.
We reach a bridge which we run over easily before it is destroyed by the storm.
Then we skid to a halt as endermen block out path.
"Crap." I mutter.
We cover our eyes, only to see something breathtaking.
The endermen pull blocks out of the tentacles that attempt to blow them sideways.
"They're slowing it down." Jessie struggles, making me surprised she can even still speak.
"We can't stop now. We need to keep moving." Magnus' rough voice cuts through, making me nod.
We charge past the monsters, not getting hit or noticed by a single one.
Time lapse
Jessie sits in the corner if a cave we cleared out, the rest of us spread around it.
The order is all together, talking quietly, while our group is all around Jessie.
"Jessie? Can you talk?" Lukas asks gently.
Jesse looks up, her now pale green eyes filled with pain.
"Sort of." She squeaks.
My heart drops.
"Why didn't it work?!" Soren suddenly shouts from across the room.
Jessie narrows her eyes and forces herself to her feet.
"You tell me Soren. It was supposed to destroy the command block." She says angrily.
Soren huffs.
"Am I supposed to know everything?" He counters.
The two glare at eachother.
"You know what Soren? For this? Yes. You created the bomb recipe. You tell me why it didn't work." She snaps.
Soren is taken off guard by the snap, but Jessie stumbles backwards, holding her head.
"Ugh... I don't feel that great." She croaks before falling backwards.
"Jessie!" I yelp, running forward.
Olivia rushes to her other side, helping me lift her head onto my kneels.
"Jessie, come on. Just hang on. We will find a way through this." I ramble, making her look up.
She has her eyes mostly closed as if she has to squint to make my face out.
"I.... Can't." She mutters, tears streaming down her face.
Lukas and Axle look like they are trying to keep their cool.
I feel as if tears are going to spill from my eyes.
"No. Jessie. You can't leave." I cry, making her lift her hand shakily.
Her hand rests on my cheeks, making the tears start to fall down onto my cheeks.
"I'm going to have to." She struggles.
I take her free hand with mine, making her look down at our clasped hands.
"I'll miss you." I whisper, making a tiny, pained, smile appear.
"I'll miss you too....." She trails off, her hands going limp.
Her hand slips down my cheeks, landing roughly on the ground.
I close my eyes, not wanting to see her poof away.
Instead I hear it.
"Jessie...." Olivia mutters, covering her face.
What am I supposed to do now?
"Its better that she's gone. She didn't belong here." Soren growls, making my eyes blaze.
Even the rest of the order looks pissed.
"You know what Soren? She belonged here way more than you do!" I snap, getting up and taking all the various things left by Jessie.
At that I storm out of the cave feeling everything crashing around me.
If I had been paying attention back in that stupid chamber, maybe she wouldn't have gotten caught in that beam.
And she would still be here.
....
Hey guys. So, I'm probably going to be killed soon. So I'm going to go hide before I post this chapter. Sorry about the sadness of the last chapters (Why I'm about to die). I killed Reuben and Jessie. Man, I'm evil. But there is one more chapter. See ya then!

(P.S, is there really only one chapter?)
