Chapter 6- Unfamiliar to everyone
"You guys need to stop thirsting over a potential enemy." Namjoon sighed in frustration. Ever since they returned home they've been talking about how it was so hard for them to not stare at Nina and Namjoon was getting worried by the second. He was worried about Jin too. Jin was scowling every time someone took her name. The maknaes told Namjoon that Jin told them to leave her alone through the packline, but that was a conversation for later.
"Yeah Jungkook, you need to stop." Jimin taunted.
"It's not funny. Do we have anything on her yet?" Namjoon questioned, not liking that he wasn't being taken seriously. Namjoon was a family man, there's no better way to describe his personality. He was loving, protective and lenient when needed but he didn't tolerate an inch of disrespect or ignorance. Along with being really tall and handsome, he was also extremely very strong. He could rip almost anyone apart before you could blink a second time. Even though the men in his pack were just as strong, waking the big bad wolf up was never on anyone's to do list.
"She was wearing a suppressant, it was a different one than the one we use but her scent, I got a whiff of it. I Won't forget it, ever." Jin stated.
"Well it's sorted then, she must be a very strong wolf. There's no other way you could smell her scent over the suppressant." Hoseok said, almost looking worrried.
"A lone wolf. She must be a Lone wolf. I didn't smell her pack. It was just her." Jin told Hoseok, hoping he would worry less.
"She looks too young to be mated." Taehyung said from the kitchen.
"Could she be the Luna who we heard about a few months ago? The one who ran away from her pack in the South?" Jungkook asked.
"No. She got hunted and killed by her pack last month." Hoseok informed the youngest about the update he missed out on.
"We shouldn't be worried if she's a lone wolf, right? A pack is what a wolf needs to survive. If she's alone she wouldn't mess with us, or with anyone for that matter." The maknae questioned mainly Namjoon with a hopeful smile on his face.
Namjoon sighed, he didn't know what to say. Namjoon was a lone wolf, one that everyone feared. He wouldn't trust anyone, he wouldn't give it a second thought before killing anyone. He was ruthless and unreasonable because he was scared of being weak. He was the only one that he knew in this world and he hated the thought of being in the defence, so he made it a point to attack anything and anyone that threatened his being. But he was different today, he was a man who had a lot of love to give to his pack, and to a future Luna that would always stand by his side. He was a man who knew the significance of a pack, his pack. He knew that no one could overpower them. But his past didn't let him tell this to his maknae.
"A wolf is most dangerous when alone. You have your pack and your pack has your back. But a lone wolf has no one, they aren't dependant and they aren't scared. The have no responsibility and no love to give to anyone." Namjoon spoke in a tone that was unfamiliar to everyone in the pack. To say that the pack was stressed would be an understatement.
Nina on the other hand was laying in Jennie's bed, smiling about her little victory in the stupid game that her and Jungkook were playing. Jennie got out of her closet and handed Nina some comfortable clothes to get changed into.
Nina thanked Jennie and went to the bathroom to get changed. Surprisingly, her unnies agreed on letting her stay the night. Moonbyul said she would go home but the worried woman decided she would stay in the car and wait till morning.
Jennie was not happy with what was going on. She played along with Nina's little joke but she knew for sure that there was something about Nina that she couldn't put her finger on. Nina was different. No one had Bangtan's attention until the occasion absolutely called for it. The last time someone had it, they ended up running away to the other side of the state and got killed by vampires on their way.
Nina got out and Jennie immediately sat her down.
"Nina, I'm going to be honest with you. I know I shouldn't but I'm expecting you to be honest with me once I'm done talking." Jennie began with a serious look on her face which worried Nina.
"I'm a vampire, I'm sure you know that. If you're a wolf you can smell it on me and if you're not, I'm sure it's still pretty obvious by now. I choose not live the same life that the others do. I have only ever attacked anyone if I had no other choice left. I survive on blood that we legally get from the hospital's blood bank. Over the last few years I have befriended witches and werewolves. I have gained their trust and they have earned mine. It wasn't easy. Vampires have a terrible reputation. Nina I have almost nothing to hide. The things that I do hide are secrets of my family, but me as a person, I'm an open book. I don't have an issue with people who don't want to open up to me, but I cannot be friends with them. I can't trust them. So please open up to me, I sense danger and I don't know where it's coming from. I hardly know you but I can tell we could be great friends. If you feel anything remotely similar, please trust me... and open up to me." Jennie sincerely pleaded.
Nina stared her right in the eyes. She was tempted. She almost teared up. It was her first time being friends with someone outside of her house. She knew immediately that Jennie could be trusted. She had seen how everyone was with her. Everyone loved her. Two or three could be fools, not everyone. Either that or Jennie was flawless at lying.
"Jennie, I am hiding something. But I can't tell you just yet. Maybe with some time..." Jennie sighed in relief when she heard Nina say this.
"Thank god, I thought you would lie to my face again." Jennie whispered.
"Jennie, I stay with the Forest Coven of witches." Nina began to talk again as she decided to open up as much as she could find it in herself to.
"I've been raised by them. They're my family. They homeschooled me my whole life because sending me to school would be difficult. They couldn't possibly tell people they were my guardians, the government would put me up for adoption so I could be with humans."
"They have a divination witch, right?" Jennie questioned.
"Yes, my Hwasa unnie. I'm assuming you understand that if they have a divination witch they know they're meant to be raising me for a reason. They know giving me away would not be good for me." Jennie nodded, not being able to join all the dots with the lack of information.
Nina sighed and continued, "Look, I don't expect you to trust me with the little amount of information I'm providing you with. But this is the first time I'm stepping out into the world. I'm 18, I decide where I live, I am my own responsibility and not the government's. It took me ages to convince my family to let me come to school. I could not have asked for a better friend Jennie. You're amazing and I hope you know that. But please let me take my time to tell you my truth. Me doing that will anyway only put you at risk as well. I don't mean you or the Bangtan pack, or anyone any harm. You can trust me with that much."
"I trust you, take your time. I'm with you." Jennie said reassuringly and hugged Nina. "Besides, I can continue playing these jokes with you, that by the pool down there was so much fun!"
"Oh my god that felt like a movie scene." Nina reciprocated the excitement.
"It did! But you can't do this too often. We can't piss them off. And I can only save you from such situations. I don't stand a chance if they choose violence." Jennie said as she giggled.
Nina nodded and asked if they could get some sleep. It had been a tiring day.
They put the lights off and let Jennie's extra soft and warm blanket embrace their tiny bodies.
Nina remembered to text her Byullie unnie that she would be up late since it would be Saturday tomorrow and that her unnie should stop worrying and go sleep in an actual bed. Moonbyul sent her an angry emoji and decided to go back home.
Nina smiled to herself and went to sleep thinking about how she loved Jennie's room so much. It was cozy and on the top of her house, with the best view. You could tell it was her room. It was girly and filled with luxury. She thought of pretty things as she fell asleep.
