May nakalimutan akong idagdag kahapon. Just in case that nobody checked the link I provided, I will add additional information.

One of my favorite classic novel is Anne of Green Gables. I love Anne Shirley of Avonlea. I fell in love with her character. She loves writing and telling stories. And she is a chatter box. There were times when her dialogue would occupy a one whole page!

Minsan ang mga characters natin mahilig magkwento ng pagkahaba-habang istorya. Minsan grabe kung magdrama at maglitanya ang mga bida. O di kaya ang mga villain natin gustong-gusto mag-deliver ng villain speech nila na mala-telenovela sa haba. Kaya kadalasan ang haba ng paragraphs. Pero pwede naman siyang gawing dalawa o multiple paragraphs lalo na kung magkaiba naman ang gustong ipahiwatig ng magkaibang paragraphs. In case lang naman na ma-experience natin ito, may rules din pala sa paggamit ng quotation marks. Sa example na ito, kunwari walang pause ang character sa pag-dialogue. Kunwari lang naman. J

Example:

“The thing is, Nick, I’m glad you did that for me –trying to suppress your nature. And I’m not asking you to do it again. You’re a vampire, I get that. You needed blood to survive. I will not try to change who you are. But what I’m trying to say is you don’t have to be like Lazarus to keep the essence of a vampire.

“You’re a vampire, and in reality, I should be frightened. But I’m not; not anymore. I’m starting to believe that vampires and humans can live together in this world. Frankly, this whole society needs a total reboot. And I trust Prince Philip and Ms. Amara will know what to do, and we will be there with them to help.”

So in the example above, there should be a quotation mark at the beginning of the paragraph. But do not place a closing quotation mark at the end of the first paragraph. The second paragraph should begin and end with quotation marks.

NOTE: Huwag niyo nang pansinin ang grammar ng sentence. Excerpt ko kasi yan sa isang story ko.

There you go. I know most of you already know this rule, but for those who don’t I hope I was able to help. Everything I have come across while searching for answers on improving our stories I will share it with you.
