We get to learn new and cool stuff everyday. I did. Just about know. And whatever I have learned, I want to share it with you guys. Because I love you. I adore you. Ooh, baby, baby.

So enough with the creepiness. When I was making a draft, I have come across a word that I needed to use. But oh, what great tragedy it is for I do not know what specific word to use! Should I use “pass time”, “pastime” or “past time”? So I consulted my friend Mr. Google and he referred me to several of his friends.

Now let me tell you what I have found out about the meaning of each words.

Pass time or to pass the time means to occupy oneself for an interval (Dictionary.com); ibig sabihin, nabobored ka habang nag-aantay sa next class mo, kaya to pass time nagbasa ka na lang muna ng LIRA sa wattpad na akda ni Pinkangel.

Example: Pinkangel passes time reading books. (Singular subject)

The girls pass time reading books. (Plural subject)

Pastime according to:

Oxforddictionaries.com –an activity that someone does regularly for enjoyment rather than work; a hobby

Merriam-webster.com –an activity that you enjoy doing during your free time 

Vocabulary.com –a  pastime is any hobby or activity that you do to pass the time. Usually, people enjoy their pastimes. 

Napansin niyo? Ang pastime ay isa palang noun.

Example: Pinkangel’s pastime is reading books.

Past time means the time that has elapsed (audioenglish.org); o yung nakalipas na ang panahon e dapat nakapag move on kana o dapat natapos mo na. Kakaloka ka, hanggang ngayon hindi mo pa rin tapos ‘yan? Hello!!!

Example: It is past time that Pinkangel stops making a fool of herself. (Dapat matagal ko na raw itinigil pagiging loka-loka ko!)

Ito pa napansin ko. May mga gumagamit ng “pass seven in the evening”. Mali po iyon. Past pala ang dapat na gamitin. Kasi parang ganito, lumipas na o nakaraan na iyon. Kaya past ang nararapat na gamitin. 

Example: It’s already half past seven in the evening. (07:30PM)

Nalilito rin ako minsan pero binabasa ko nag mga sumusunod na articles na ito upang makatulong sa akin na maintindihan ang mga bagay-bagay na sadyang nagpapagulo sa maliit kong isipan.
