The answer to the last question of the chapter was Frissyn, the only known substance to extinguish Everblaze.

My head was spinning. The sweet smell of drugs filled my nose, and I tried to fight it back, trying to clear my mind of the drugs.

Keefe. Think of Keefe and Fitz and Biana. Think of Dex and Percy and Annabeth. They need you to push through.

The memories of my friends helped me to shake the drugs off. I was kidnapped again. Whoopee. I tried to sit up, and found that my hands weren't bound. I took off the blindfold and looked around. The room was dark, and there wasn't much to see. My eyes adjusted to the darkness and I saw a slumped figure in the corner next to me. I gasped. The person stirred.

"Huh? What...zuhsklfjiaowhfa..." He murmured sleepily. I crawled to him and shook him. Now that my eyes were adjusted with my Exillium training, I recognized the shaggy black hair and pale complex. It was Nico di Angelo.

"Nico!" I whispered. "Wake up!" He stirred again.

"Sophie? What's going on?" He rubbed his eyes, finding the blindfold. He ripped it off—literally—and looked up.

"Gah!" He scrambled away from me. "Oh, it's just you." He sighed. "What are we doing here?"

"We were kidnapped." I explained. "They—"

"Not quite kidnapped, Sophie Foster." A figure with a black cloak stepped into the room. I instinctively reached for my dagger, Hope, but found the sling empty.

"None of your inflicting or weapons, Ms. Foster." The icy voice echoed through the room. "They will only cause trouble. Have a say of what we can offer."

"Why would I believe you?" I spat. "You kidnapped me and Nico—"

"For a perfectly good reason." The figure lifted his hand. "He is a child of the Big Three, and a good friend of Percy Jackson. We have quite a matter to discuss with him. As for you, Ms. Foster, you have the best telepathy and abilities the elves have seen in a long time. You will be a powerful asset to the Neverseen."

"And why would I help you when you killed so many elves?"

"Don't you hate when the Council is so ignorant, when they ignore you?" The cloak swished as the Neverseen member glided towards the center of the room. "The circlet, the alicorns, the gnome disease, your own kidnapping."

"Most of that was your doing, you're aware of that, right?" Nico raised an eyebrow. The man shook his head.

"That was a more rebellious part of the group." He insisted. "Before Fintan and Lady Gisela joined, the Neverseen were much like the Black Swan. Join us, we will make sure that the Council learns not to be ignorant and arrogant to its elves ever again." He held out a hand. Sure, the idea was tempting. But I couldn't betray the Black Swan!

"The Black Swan is welcome to join as well." It was like the figure read my mind. I guess it was obvious because of my body language, but I wasn't sure. Of course, I had an impenetrable mind, but you never know with the Neverseen.

"First take off your hood." I demanded, smirking a little. I could practically hear him scowl, but amazingly, he took off the hood. He was a striking elf, as all elves, but he had hazel colored hair and a pale complex, much like Nico. He had sky blue eyes like Della's, and the features on his face were surprisingly soft. His expression was calm, and he somehow reminded me of Alvar Vacker, but this couldn't be him. Alvar was dead. Besides, his age wasn't right. This man looked like Grady, his eyes twinkling with the experience of lifetimes. Probably a hundred.

"Do you believe me now, Ms. Foster?" He asked imploringly. I looked down at my hands.

"I don't know..." I whispered. He nodded understandingly.

"It can be hard to trust a person you thought was your enemy." He sympathized. "I have to admit, the past Neverseen was quite vicious, working with Lady Gisela and Vespera and Fintan. And Nightfall was terrible." I had to agree with him. Nightfall was terrible, and the memebers the Neverseen had recruited were horrible and ruthless. This Neverseen member was actually nice. I couldn't believe it. But then again, people could lie. But then again, people could change.

"I'll check on you later, bring you some food and water." He was about to leave when I held him back.

"What's your name?" I asked. He looked surprised, as if no one had asked him that before. He thought for a moment, before saying, "Janson." He left, closing the door behind him.

"Well, that was different." I pointed out. Nico snorted.

"Different? DIFFERENT?? That was paranormal! That's it, I'm getting out of here." He stood up. I stopped him.

"Nico, please don't go. I need you here." I begged. "You're my only company." He sighed in exasperation.

"Fine, I'll stay. But if I get one hint that these guys can't be trusted, we're shadow-traveling outta here." I agreed. We had a lengthy conversation to have.

Somewhere in the middle of the debate, Janson came in, carrying 2 plates of purple sludge and a canteen of water.

"What in the Hades is that??" Nico yelped as the sludge was placed in front of him.

Janson just laughed. "It tastes better than it looks. Sophie here would know, right?" I nodded.

"Edaline gave me this once. Tastes like mac and cheese." I assured him. Nico frowned.

"What's mac and cheese?" He asked. I sighed. This was going to be a long day.

When Janson declared that it was time for bed, he gave us some pillows and blankets and teased me about Ella the elephant I always slept with. I gaped. How could he know?

He must have read my expression, because he laughed. "I know many things, Sophie Foster." He smiled. "Now, you must sleep. You're going to the leaders of the Neverseen soon, and let me assure you it is not Lady Gisela or Fintan. Nor anyone else who has caused you harm." He winked, and I snuggled deep under the covers, falling fast asleep in no time.

[hey guys, whaddya think? I wanted to give the Neverseen a second chance because we don't judge a book by its cover, right? Lady Gisela, Vespera, and Fintan were the evil ones, and some people might have gone to the dark side, while other people might have stayed behind. That's why I created a new character, a softer version of the Neverseen, ideal for a Black Swan member or a 'good Neverseen'. It wouldn't be hard to believe that the Neverseen were once like the Black Swan, because their objections were quite similar.

Hope you liked this guys :)
