Annabeth

[The answer was...Outward Channeling!

Sorry for not updating earlier...I had a writer's block lol]

As we light-leaped to New York, I couldn't wait to see Sally. She was so nice, and her blue cookies were the best. Like it was from Elysium.

"I can drop you off here." Sophie said, holding up the pathfinder. "Think you can walk to your house?" I nodded.

"Of course." Percy puffed out his chest. "I bet 5 drachmas that we won't encounter any monsters." I grinned.

"Bet taken." I shook hands with him. "Seaweed Brain." He pouted, showing his baby seal eyes.

"Wise Girl."

"Kelp face!"

"Owl head!"

"Idiot!"

"Nerd!"

Sophie rolled her eyes. "I can't believe you two are dating." She muttered. "You argue too much!"

"Hey, you and Keefe argue too!" Percy retorted. "Aren't you two dating?" Sophie blushed and looked away.

"I guess we are." She admitted. "Anyways, I don't have too much time. See you guys!" She waved and vanished into a beam of light. Me and Percy grasped hands and walked towards his apartment.

"Is the bet still on?" I asked.

"Well, duh! I betted 5 whole drachmas. I can't lose." He said, mostly to himself. I laughed and rumpled his hair. As we walked through the alleyway, I noticed that someone was following us. Percy noticed too, and immediately went on high alert. His hand flew to his pocket, and I fingered my drakon bone sword.

"Well, what do we have here?" A rough voice sounded from behind a dumpster. I nearly rolled my eyes. Gangsters. 5 black figures came slithering out, not very stealthily, but they were armed with guns.

"How about the little lady and a couple of bucks for your life, punk?" He pointed the gun directly at Percy's forehead. I snorted. Like they could get their hands on me.

"You sound like Clarisse." Percy noted. "You sure you guys aren't related?" This time, I rolled my eyes. Not the right time, Seaweed Brain.

I kicked the one creeping behind me where Apollo doesn't shine and whipped out my dagger, brandishing it in a deadly arc. Since Percy had Celestial Bronze sword that didn't work on mortals, he settled on hand-to-hand combat. He punched one of the square in the face and judo-flipped another. I smiled. I taught him well.

"If you think you can get your filthy hands on me, think otherwise, idiot." I hissed as I slashed my bone dagger at another in the stomach. Hard. Like, really hard. He doubled over and wheezed like he was choking.

I heard a gun fire. I whipped around and saw Percy jumping straight in front of me.

"Percy! You idiot!" I screamed as the bullet grazed his arm. He froze and his body tensed with pain. I immediately recognized the weapon closer. Those weren't regular guns—they were melders. The elfish version of mortal guns.

"I'm fine, I'm fine." He said while gritting his teeth. He punched the last guy karate-style and tried to stand.

"Let's go before we attract anything else." I muttered and grabbed his shirt. We hurried out of the alley, hoping not to attract monsters. but wanting to go to Sally's apartment for blue cookies and milk.

"Do they count as monsters?" Percy wondered. I sighed in exasperation.

"You just got shot and you're thinking about the stupid bet?" I dragged him further down the street. "You really are an idiot." He flashed a lopsided grin.

"That's why ya love me, Wise Girl." He laughed, but his voice was tinted with pain.

"We'd better get you to a doctor." I murmured, examining his pale face.

"No need." He waved his hand and a blob of water appeared. He touched it, and sighed.

"I'm glad you're a spawn of Poseidon for once." I grumbled. He looked at me with fake hurt.

"Annabeth! I'm wounded!" He said, putting a hand to his chest. "Not literally. I meant like—ugh, you know what I mean." I gave him a teasing smile before sprinting off.

"Hey!" He shouted. "Wait up!"

Time skip cause why not?

Percy knocked on the door. A faint, "I'm coming, I'm coming," was heard on the other side before the door creaked open.

"Look, this isn't a good time, our son his dead and—" Paul froze when he saw Percy. His salt and pepper hair was unruly and messy, and his eyes were swollen and red from crying, probably.

"Percy?" Paul whispered. Percy held out his arms hesitantly.

"Hey, did ya miss me?" He asked, trying to grin, but it looked more like a grimace.

"Paul, what's going on here—" Sally stopped abruptly as she saw me and her son standing in her doorway. "Percy?" Percy chuckled nervously.

"In the flesh, mom." His lips quirked up in a smile of pure joy as he hugged his mom and stepdad. I put my hand on his shoulder, and he pecked me on the cheek. Gods, I love it when he does that. But DON'T YOU DARE TELL PERCY. I WILL SEND YOU TO HADES EARLY.

"We thought you were dead, for Zeus' sake!" Sally sobbed into Percy's shoulder. "You-you didn't come back for so long; we thought something happened..." She trailed off. "Oh, where are my manners? Come in you two, I'm going to make a batch of blue cookies." She ushered us in, and we took a seat at the couch.

"What do you think is going to happen about the Giants and the Neverseen?" I whispered into his ear. He shrugged.

"I'll probably beat the crap out of them." He mimed punching someone in the face. "Don't worry, I'll just use Riptide. And a hurricane, probably, but no blood-bending. I promise." I sighed in relief and rested my head on his shoulder.

"Blue cookies are ready!" I heard Sally call. We jumped up from the couch and raced to the kitchen, with Paul close behind.

"Phew...I'm getting old!" Paul joked as he jogged into the kitchen, where me and my boyfriend were already munching on blue treats. Sally kissed Paul on the cheek and handed him a cookie. I couldn't help smiling. Those two were so perfect for each other it was like me and Percy.

I soaked in the moment, knowing it could be our very last together. I savored the heavenly taste of the soft cookies and chocolate chips, and leaned on Percy. It was probably the last moment of peace we would have in many, many, days.
