Chapter Four
I went and opened the door. And, oh-my-God. Blake looked dazzling. Magical.
"Hey,"he said, handing me a bouquet of white and red flowers. " You look beautiful"
"Why,thank you"
"Hey. You look handsome, Blake_" my mom said, chirpily.
"Thank you," he replied, laughing.
I smiled.
"I was wondering if you both could click a picture?," she smiled.
"No, it's okay mom-," I began.
"Yes, Off course," Blake interrupted.
"Smile,"my mom said.
He held my hand and smiled at the camera. I did the same, though my eyes drifted towards his face when the camera clicked
"Thanks, enjoy your night," my mom said. "Bring her back by nine ?"
Blake nodded.
"Yes, Mrs. Goodwin , she'll be back by nine"

We walked silently for sometime. We took a left and a right and kept walking straight.
"It's quiet cold today," I said, breaking the silence.
"Yep, so I notice," Blake responded. We walked and walked. Is the venue this far?
Then, I stopped. The venue wasn't so far. I stood in the middle of the street and looked around.
"I don't think I know this place." I informed Blake.
"What?" he asked, worried.
"Yeah, we're lost." I said. I didn't have the slightest clue as to how we landed in such a turmoil. How could we get lost in my own city?
I took out my phone and back -walked seeing the GPS, trying to find out where exactly had I taken Blake.
"LUCY LOOK OUT!,"Blake yelled.
"OUCH! " I screamed in pain as my head hit the pole.
"Ow, ow ,ow," I moved sideways.
"WAIT. DON'T GO THERE! ," Blake shouted again.
"Ouch!,"I screamed again, as my leg hit a big rock. I cursed under my breath. Well this how fate treats me. I sat down on the rock, still in pain.
Blake came to me, hurriedly. He sat down beside and rubbed my head.
"God, are you always so careless? " he asked, shaking his head.
"Most of the time", I admitted . "It hurts."
"Of course it will. You hit the pole quiet hard," he said, still rubbing my head.
"My leg hurts too,"I informed him.
"Yeah, it hit the rock,"he said, eyeing my leg.
Great! We were lost and I was hurt and it all happening because of me.
"I don't think we'll make it to the prom today, not before nine anyway," I said, feeling terrible.
"It's okay, you know?," he said in a soft, gentle voice. Then, my phone rang. Kristine.
"WHERE ON EARTH ARE YOU PEOPLE?," she screamed.
"I'm sorry Kristine.. I don't think we can make it to the prom. We are lost and I'm hurt and....I'm so sorry..," I said as tears welled up in my eyes for all this mess.
"Awh, it's okay.. where are you? should I come there? ," she said, gently.
"I don't know where we are. But no, don't. We'll find our way,"I assured.
"Okay. He's there right? " she asked.
"Yeah,"I informed.
"No worries then,''she chuckled to herself and disconnected the phone.
I sighed in exhaustion, pain and remorse. I looked down at my phone, feeling terribly guilty as beads of tears fell down my cheeks.
"Hey, what's wrong?,"Blake asked looking into my eyes.
I drifted momentarily in his oceanic eyes.
"I'm so sorry, Blake. I spoilt your night. I totally did. I'm sorry, I really am," I said sobbing.
"Lucy, no, you didn't. You didn't do any of it on purpose. Now, stop crying," he said, wiping the tear off my cheek.
We remained in silence for some time.
"Do you feel better?"
I nodded.
"And your leg?"
I moved it left and right. "Pain gone"
"Great then," he said, taking out his phone and putting on some light, soft, dance music.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"Let's dance," he smiled as his dimples formed deep craters again.
"Here? On the road? " I asked, surprised. He wants us to dance on the road?
"Well, there isn't anyone here. It's just a cold, empty street " he said.
I looked around and nodded.
"May I have to honor to dance with you,Ms.Goodwin?," he asked, extending his hand, fixing me with a smile.
"Of course"
He wrapped his hand around my waist and we danced. Slowly, moving into the darkness, a little away from the street light. It was so magical, so comforting. I smiled at him.
I spotted some people at a distance. They might have seen us, but we needn't have worried; all they could have seen was a couple, rather short, nevertheless a couple, in the dark, hiding under the shadows of the buildings, possibly in love.
