Prologue (?) - jimmy mercilessly kidnaps OCs
Before we start, we have to go over the general rules and warnings:
#1. There will be LGBTQ+ (d u h) but probably not with the MC's for a change because they already have their own love interests... in their own worlds... TvT'. Please do not discriminate in any way, shape, or form, or you can take a hike, sweetheart. Thanks~!
#2. I'm still hibernating. Don't expect too much of me, that's all I'm saying ^ ^'
#3. Be kind with comments and with each other in general. Thank you.
#4. Enjoy this story!
Now let us start...
(Oh yeah right, you might find yourself slightly confused and that's okay. Confusion is good- *gets smacked by Evan* -I mean, if you're confused, you can always ask me questions and I'll answer readily! Although please keep in mind several of these characters are from different worlds that don't apply to this one. They obviously have friends and other... things.)
-X-X-X-
Remi's P/O/V
FLASH!
There was a bright spark of light and suddenly he found himself falling at a rather disturbing rate to a very white and very smooth ground. Of course, the natural instinct was for him to:
"AHHHHHHHHHH!!"
-scream hysterically, because at that height that kind of fall would result in rather painful injuries. As the ground flew closer and closer, he braced himself for the impact. But before he could smack onto the ground, a soft whoosh of wind swirled around him and held him up, before gently setting him onto the ground.
"What the..." Remi looked around. Last he checked he was in the lounge room aboard the Inferno, chatting with Roux, but now it looked like he was in some sort of super-posh room of sorts. Well, not really.
It kind of reminded him of the training rooms on the Inferno-the floor was white and glossy, and there wasn't any furniture whatsoever. A dome stretched above him, made out of what seemed to be a honeycomb-style holographic wall. It wasn't see-through, however, so he didn't see anything outside and therefore had no clue where he was currently at.
"Woah! This is so cool-weird!"
Remi whipped his head around and suddenly saw that he was alone. Four other strangers were also standing on the ground. The one that had spoken was a brown-haired girl, but as he watched her hair elongated and punched the ground. "Oh, that's better. I wonder where we are..."
Uhhhhhh...
As he watched her hair turned a pale lavender shade, then orange, then became a question mark. Looking at her there were all sorts of bright slightly glittery rainbows-colors that shifted constantly from one to the next.
The other three looked interesting as well. One had messy and slightly spiky hair, covering his eyes mostly. It was black at the roots, then faded towards brown-black, then a dark red-ginger, then a slight gold color, then finally tipped in pale silver. Just by looking at him, Remi was hit with a feeling of utter and complete darkness... like he couldn't see.
He shivered and moved on to the next person, who was a girl around 14, with bright emerald-green hair that was slightly spiky and golden eyes. She looked... kind of short. Looking at her Remi instantly flames of rather intense anger and a glassy barrier (?), along with... a llama towel?
Weird... Remi shook his head and moved on to the final person, who was a male that looked eighteen, nineteen, or maybe even twenty. For some reason he had pink hair, which was slightly messy and spiked up in random places. He was rather slim with grayish-silver eyes. When Remi glanced at him, he saw a brief sight of... was that falling dice? A giant glowing chessboard? And... fire...?... with the number 10...?
Okay, these are some of the craziest things my synesthesia's come up with in a long time, Remi shook his head a little. What the hell is-
"WHAT THE F*CKING HELL IS GOING ON?!" The green-haired girl roared at that moment, clenching her fists. "I WAS WITH THE REST OF MY FRIENDS, BUT THEN THIS WEIRD FLASH BROUGHT ME HERE AND I WANT TO GO BACK!! WHERE IS THE MOTHERF*CKER THAT CAUSED THIS?!"
She swung on the pink-haired boy. "YOU!"
The boy held up his hands. "Hey, hey, don't look at me, I was just talking to Bea when a similar thing happened! Did you guys die and come to Fandom Academy too? I haven't seen any of you here before."
"That sounds like a place Willie would love," The brown-haired girl spoke up. Around her were several cracks on the white ground. "He's craaaaazy about fandoms. And I thought I was in the middle of Test 1, is this where the second stage is taking place...?"
The girl turned on Remi next. "What about you!? You're very suspicious!!"
He scowled on reflex. "Don't look at me. I was just talking aboard the Inferno with my friend when this whole thing happened. What ring do you guys live in, speaking of which? Are you infected or not?"
"What inferno?" The pinkette asked. Remi noticed his hands twitched briefly into fists. Huh. Is he... afraid of fire, then?
"That's the name of the ship that 'saved all humanity', duh," Remi rolled his eyes. "You must be one of the uneducated ones."
"There's a ship like that?" The brown-haired girl furrowed her brow. "Are you guys Angels or Demons? I've never seen any of you, so, Angels, I'm assuming?"
"Demons and Angels? Girl, what kind of fantasy do you live in?!" The greenette snapped, still looking angry.
"What world do you live in, then?" The brown-haired girl shot right back.
"Is this where I can find my page?" the final boy finally spoke up. "Because all I know is that it's white. Very white. And dome-shaped. Other than that I haven't got anything else."
"You're blind," The pinkette noted.
"I am," the boy nodded.
"That's great," the greenette said impatiently. "But I want to know WHERE WE ARE and WHAT WE'RE DOING HERE. NOW, or I'm going to-"
Just then a bell trilled out ding-dong-ding, cutting the greenette off-thankfully. After a moment of silence, a girl's voice rang out. "Ah, ah, testing, testing! Can you all hear me?"
"WHO ARE YOU!?" The greenette, predictably, shouted. "ARE YOU THE ONE WHO DID THIS?!"
"Of course I am," the voice replied in a pleasant voice. "Hello, main characters. My name is Jimmy, and I'm the mastermind behind all of this!"
"I DEMAND THAT YOU SEND US BACK HOME THIS INSTANT!!"
"Unfortunately, I regret to inform you that while I can do so with a snap of my fingers, I cannot," Jimmy replied in a voice that didn't sound very regretful at all. "You have all been transported to a whole new world that needs you to save them from a fate worse than death!"
"That makes absolutely no sense! I already have to be a dumb zodiac!"
"Did you kidnap us?" The brunette asked loudly. "Also, if you can, change the floor and walls, please. They're bothering me."
The greenette sent her a weird look, but Jimmy chirped, "Whatever you wish! Also, I did not kidnap you! Maybe!" After a moment the floor shimmered and became like shifting fluffy sunset or sunrise-like clouds. "How's this?"
"Beautiful!"
"Hey, you," the pinkette called, ignoring Jimmy's squawk of "My name is Jimmy, not 'hey you!'" "When you say 'save the world from a fate worse than death,' what exactly do you mean?"
"Exactly what I said," Jimmy replied. "Long story short-" A screen clicked open and showed pictures of the world outside-pretty much ruins. In fact, Remi hadn't seen such ruins since the start of the undead invasion. There were screaming people and monsters everywhere. "There's the apocalypse, monsters, and also world domination schemes. That's what you need to defeat."
"W H A T ? !"
"ARE YOU CRAZY?! WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD-"
"That's the thing, I'm NEVER in a right mind," Jimmy said. "Anyways-"
"Tell us the truth," the blind guy said quietly. "You're hiding something."
Jimmy grumbled something like, 'let me finish my sentence first geez' before answering. "If I told you the truth you wouldn't believe me anyways, so I'm just telling you the things that I can safely tell you-"
A shout from the background interrupted her. "MY LADY, DON'T TELL THEM ANYTHING LIKE I TOLD YOU TO-"
"YEAH, EVAN, I KNOW!" Jimmy shouted back, before continuing. "That was my personal assistant Evan, who has given me strict orders not to tell you everything!"
"But this is a bit much," Remi spoke up for the first time. Those two sound evil... "It would've been nice to give us a heads-up, y'know. Some people like to have those kinds of things before getting abruptly transported to a completely random place."
"Yeah, I was just in the middle of winning that cards game!" the pinkette grumbled.
"If it makes you feel better, all your stories on the other side have been kind of, uh, paused," Jimmy told them. "So even if you're gone forever or even die, you'll be perfectly fine over there! In fact, you probably won't even remember most of this!"
"That's reassuring-wait, DIE?!" The greenette yelled.
"You're up against the apocalypse and some MEAN power-hungry dictators," Jimmy replied loftily. "Of course there's gonna be death. In fact, I increased the number of humans to 1 trillion just so that I could kill them off easily without having to worry about, y'know, problems that would arise if the human population declined too much."
While that sounded nice, that also sounded... really bad. And pretty darned twisted.
"You're completely evil, and I'm going to stick to that," the brunette, greenette, and pinkette shouted at the same time. Remi had to agree a little, the blind guy stayed silent. But his brows furrowed a little.
Jimmy laughed a little. "Uhhhh... I'm not going to completely deny that. Thankfully, because you're the main characters, you won't be as tortured as much since you already have the advantage of powers and the like!"
Wait, powers? "I don't have any powers," Remi quickly said.
"Oh yeah, you don't, but I'm sure Mr. Blind Guy can cover for you," Jimmy replied-and this time Remi did hear a hint of petulant annoyance and regret in her voice. "To make up for that you have enhanced attributes such as speed, agility, accuracy, etc. Also, you have been gifted a forever-sharp set of pottery needles and a garrote capable of elongation! You're welcome."
When Remi checked his pockets, he was amazed to find that she was right. "Wow." Of course, the only reason why he had them right now was because she had dumped him here and given him a reason to have them, so he wasn't quite obligated to say 'thank you' quite yet.
"Uh-huh~! Anywho, the apocalypse should be starting soon-at 6:00 on the dot, the hour of death~!-which is is fifteen minutes. You have that much time to get to know each other and bond, because you're going to need it. In case you're thinking of going solo, no go, so might as well get used to being with one another."
"Wait, how long will we be here?!" the brunette called out. "I have to return to take the tests!"
"I need to find my page," The blind buy said.
"Even I don't know that answer!" Jimmy replied cheerfully. "That's one question I can't answer because I really don't know!" This time, she really didn't sound like she was lying.
"Ugh... well then, at least can you tell us what you mean by 'bonding?'" Remi asked. Bonding is. Not. My. Thing.
"Oh, you know, the basics. State your name, age, and where you were before," Jimmy said offhandedly. "Now I have to go plan. Good luck, main characters! A guided form to this world will appear in ten minutes, which is when the apocalypse will start! See you soon! Oh-and by the way, when you come across an administrator named Dark, tell them hi for me, will you? Thanks! Jimmy-out!"
The voice vanished and there was a long period of silence while everyone tried to grasp the new information that had just been given to them.
"... She's way too cheerful for someone that's orchestrating this whole godd*mn thing," the pinkette finally said.
"Agreed," Remi said.
The brunette girl looked deep in thought for a second, before shrugging to herself and addressing everyone, beaming. Her hair morphed into a ball of glittery gold-as did her aura, which brightened up. "Hi there, my name's Turtle! It's nice to meet you!"
"What a weird name..." Remi said, a bit taken aback by her boldness. She didn't even flinch when he glared at her.
"I'm fifteen years old, and I was from a world where there are Angels and Demons. Currently I'm with eleven other kids like me-well, I was-and we're-well, was-taking tests because we caused too much trouble in Heaven and Hell." Turtle paused. "I'm also genderfluid, so if I suddenly become a boy, don't freak out."
"That's interesting," The blind guy noted.
The greenette huffed, seeming to have finally blown off some seat as the angry flames Remi had seen earlier died down a bit-but not completely disappearing. "Well, if we're doing introductions now... Hey. The name's Remily Rei Yoon. I'm fourteen years old, and I'm apparently the zodiac guardian of Libra. Protecting the heavens, or somethin'."
"That's so cool!" Turtle said earnestly.
Remi was a bit taken aback at how similar their names were. "I'm Remilius Mara-Cessair, but just call me Remi for short."
Remily sent him a strange look. "Your name sounds like mine."
He scowled. "I can't help that fact, b*tc-"
"Okay, okay, stop fighting!" Turtle quickly intervened. "Where were you before, Remi?"
"I was on a ship called the Inferno, after the world got overrun by the 'undead'," Remi said begrudgingly. "I'm part of the Gemini stream."
"The undead, huh?" The pinkette cracked a little smile. "I'm Serena Luruoir, but call me Ren for short if you want," he said, pronouncing the name 'sir-eh-na' instead of 'sir-ee-na'. "I'm seventeen years old, and I died and-"
"YOU'RE DEAD?!" Remily blurted out.
Ren gave her a strange look. "Yes, I'm dead. That's all I can tell you. I died and went to Fandom Academy." He looked to the side in a guilty way. "Just by telling you guys that I think I just broke like all of FA's rules... oh well, whatevs. What those uptight teachers don't know won't kill 'em!"
"You seem very much alive," The blind guy said cautiously.
"'Cause I am," Ren replied as if it were obvious.
"That's amazing," Turtle sighed. "Although dying doesn't sound fun."
"Immortality is much more exhausting," The blind guy said. "Hello, everyone, my name is Taurus Xun Astrophel. I'm the protector of the genre 'paranormal'."
"Woah, like sci-fi and stuff?" Remily asked.
"No, my friend Aquarius is that genre, not me," Taurus corrected her.
"Another amazing person~" Turtle sighed again, much louder and gustier. It was starting to get on Remi's nerves-was she just faking it or not? It seemed genuine enough... But you never can be too careful. For all I know all four of these people could be killers just waiting to strike.
"I assume you use your powers to see," Ren said. "Since you seem fine."
"How did you know?" Taurus asked instead.
Ren shrugged. "You looked in the right places when we introduced ourselves. Blind people usually don't do that."
The corner of Taurus's moth lifted. "Well, you're correct. I do use one of my powers to see partly, but I don't really need it, actually. I've gotten used to it. Usually I use that and have a friend of mine help guide me."
He's more perceptive than I had originally thought... Remi noted, glancing over at Ren. I should keep an eye on him. He shifted his glance to Turtle, then Remily. Turtle might not be an immense challenge... and Remily, either, since she's all bark and no bite... but I'll have to wait to see their powers in action before making any permanent assumptions.
(He knew from first-hand experience how doing that could lead to more-than-one disasters, that's for sure...)
"Hey, dude, don't tell me you're analyzing us already, huh?"
Remi was shaken out of his thinking when Turtle elbowed him in the side, grinning. The gesture sent sparks of gold everywhere.
"Of course I am," he replied irritably, stepping away from her. "Any person with a sensible mind would do so in a strange environment and an extremely suspicious situation like this one."
Remily laughed. "Ha! Loosen up, man, what have we got to lose? If that Jimmy's words are true, even if we die, we'll be fine!"
"Right?" Turtle and Remily high-fived. "Siiiiiiiiss~!"
Ren put a hand to his face. "You guys, can you at least try to be serious? We're not going to just be facing such simple things-"
"Oh, pipe down!" Remily barked at him. "Annnnnd-finish!" She and Turtle completed some weird girlish handshake and bumped elbows.
"More Gems...?" Taurus muttered under his breath, shaking his head.
All Remi could do was shake his head-not like he wasn't used to that kind of blindingness, the price he paid to study Cosmos-but because of the situation.
Just then a bell similar to the one earlier rang out, and a robotic female voice-obviously not Jimmy's-starting talking in that creepy way Remi recognized robots to talk. "Apocalypse countdown starting. 30... 29... 28... 27... 26..."
Instantly Turtle stopped smiling and her hair turned white as her expression became panicked. "Wait, ten minutes are over already?! Since when?!"
"If you weren't so busy doing your weird handshake, you would've noticed!" Remi snapped, tensing up his body as the countdown continued monotonously.
"Well, ex-cuuuuuuuse me for trying to make the situation a bit better!" Remily cut in sharply before Turtle could reply.
"Guys, it might be better to prepare a little more instead of fighting!" Ren shouted over both of them and the voice.
"20... 19... 18..." At 20 a low rumble sounded, and it only grew louder with each passing second.
Turtle was freaking out. "What do we do what do we do what do we do-"
"Calm down!" Taurus said sharply. Out of all of them, he appeared the most calm. "Calm down and be prepared. That's the best we can do."
Turtle took a deep breath. "Ha... yeah." Her hair turned long again and sharpened at the ends. She pointed at the honeycomb wall, which slowly had a large door shape becoming clearer in it. "Okay! Bring it on!"
Colors swirled in Remi's vision as the world continued to spin, and he fought off the desire to stagger. Focus. He gripped his garrote as the voice got to ten.
"10... 9... 8... 7... 6..."
"BRING IT ON, APOCALYPSE AND DICTATORS!" Remily yelled abruptly. "I AIN'T SCARED OF YOU!!!"
"That's the spirit," Ren said jokingly.
"YEAH!"
"3...
"2...
Remi gulped as the door slowly opened with a loud rumble and cloud of smoke.
"1...
0."
The door opened all the way, revealing all the destruction that Jimmy had shown them earlier... right in front of their eyes. Dizzying images of blood, car crashes, crushed limbs rushed in sharp spirals of deep red in front of Remi's vision, making him clap a hand over his mouth and stagger.
A hand caught his shoulder, and he realized Taurus was there, his expression calm and steady, although his mouth was thinner than it was before. "Calm yourself, Remi. Don't let your past govern your present."
Slowly the wave of pain ceased slowly, and Remi righted himself. "... Thank you."
Taurus simply nodded.
"You may now leave the area," the robotic voice droned on. "Once you leave you will not be able to return unless Mistress Jimmy-" Turtle chuckled, but it was shaky. "'Mistress Jimmy'? She doesn't sound a day over thirteen at best."
"-allows it. You are free to use your powers as you wish. Good luck."
Remi glanced over at the rest of the group-no, now his team.
I can't believe this is actually happening.
Ren was the first to break the ice. "Well, what're you all waiting for?" He stepped out the door. "The world ain't gonna save itself."
The other four exchanged glances. "Wait for me, dumb*ss!" Remily shouted, and ran after him.
"Me too!" Turtle followed suit, dashing after her.
"Shall we, then?"
Remi looked over at Taurus. He's so calm, even though this is such a suspicious and crazy situation... added to the fact he has a big weakness-the fact that he's blind... Remi allowed himself to smile a little. I suppose I can respect him a little for that.
"We shall."
Well, here we go... ready or not.
-X-X-X-
There's the first chapter! (technically, the prologue) Phew- *wipes brow* Not too bad if I say so myself. Who knew it's so hard to write about your own characters? It's hard to properly embody Taurus and Remi especially...
The next chapter is when they actually get moving with the plot. In case you're wondering, I don't know where the plot is going to go, thank you for asking. ^ ^
Once again, big thanks to Dark for their encouragement and also for helping me with deciding what evil scenario I should make the MCs save the world from.
Please comment here if you would like me to write from a certain OC's POV next chapter.
Anyways, there's that... Thank you for reading, and I hope you're looking forwards to the rest of the story! See you (hopefully) soon!
-A.A.C. ;)
(Don't forget: you can apply yourself as an administrator if you want to do commentary and also, you know, torture humans with whatever test you want to do or just act as crack. You can also be a character if you don't want to be an administrator, but you might not have as big of a part.)
