Chapter 4: A Talking Hat.... And an Unexpected House

I walked in with glee and excitement, bouncing on my heals. There was some muttering in British as I followed Professor McGonagall to the front of the hall. There sat the Sorting Hat on a stool, whom I had seen earlier that day in Headmaster Dumbledore's office.
"Please sit," I did as I was told, glancing at Chiron who was standing just inside the double doors. He nodded as the Hat was placed on my head.

Another one, eh?

Another one? Do you mean another person to sort, Mr.Sorting Hat?

If that is what you wish to think. Normally I would sing you a song, but I was told by the Headmaster not to.

Aww. I was looking forward to that.

I am going to look through your memories, so please wait a moment.

'Kay!

I saw my life flash before my eyes. My father before his mind cracked, smiling down at me. My first day at the children's home. Getting bullied by the older kids and nearly starved. Pepsy's and the Twins' first day with me. Pulling pranks on the caretakers who turned their backs on us.

Very cunning. Payback on the adults who shunned you?

What? They are jerks.
More memories passed through my mind. Mostly all the shenanigans that Pepsy and I did: Stealing food from the kitchen, dumping the flour on the mean kid Jeorge, poking said bully in the eye with the rocks I thrown at him (he was being mean to Midnight  and Midday), all of this continued to the latest trick, building a giant castle in the sand during the summer when we went to the beach. We had a moat and lots of rooms!
That is a brilliant castle.

Thank you.

I then saw my school time memories, still trouble. Tripping the idiots who did not see my foot, my study of Japanese and all things anime, reading J.K. Rowling and Uncle Rick's books over and over and over and over and over again.
Is that author your uncle?

Nah, just what the fandom calls him.
Other things came up, such as my trio's motivation to learn Sign Language for Midday's sake or Morse Code for silent communication with Midnight.

Learning not only one language, but two more non-verbal? Definitely a Ravenclaw trait. But your views on the other children...

Can we hurry? I'm hungry!

Be patient, you mass of ADHD energy. While I could very well give you Gryffindor, Ravenclaw or Slytherin, I believe the best choice would be...

"SLYTHERIN!"

Hey! Sorry this was short, but I wanted to get this out in one chapter! What are your thoughts on the Sorting Hat's decision? I was debating either Ravenclaw (so Leo and Lat could cause living Tartarus) or Slytherin. Please comment and make sure to support the founding authors and the original Fanfic! Thanks!

[Btw, my Pottermore house is actually Gryffindor, so lol]
