9 | normal

Taeyong immediately ran towards his department's building. He wasn't running because he's late. He wanted to find someone who apparently knows how to drive. Everything that he's doing right now is stupid, very stupid, but he does want to drive and go together with Jaehyun. It's very weird to other people but he has a big crush on the guy, for god's sake.

The boy snapped out of his thoughts which made feel flustered. He just made his way towards the classroom, barging in and good thing the professor wasn't inside. Taeyong made his way to his friend that was seated at the back, with his earphones on while he's on his phone.

"Johnny, you need to help me!"

The man flinched in surprise. It was because the boy said it suddenly and in a rush. Johnny could only raise an eyebrow at him as he removed his earphones out of his ears.

"Help? On where exactly?" the man asked.

Taeyong smiled sheepishly, "Driving."

"What? You're joking."

"Unfortunately, I'm not, John."

Johnny looked at him suspiciously. With his eyebrows knitted together, eyes wincing and his lips frowned. Taeyong knew his friend would react like this but Johnny would surely help him.

"Come on, Johnny. You haven't said no," the boy said, teasingly.

"Well, this might be your lucky day, Yong--"

Taeyong pouted and gave him pleading eyes, "Please, John? I really need it!"

"Why do you even need to drive? Your family does it for you," the man said, trying to get a reason from his friend.

"E-Exactly, I don't want to bother them anymore," Taeyong excused.

"Then why don't you just go to a driving school?"

The boy looked away, "It's...urgent?"

Johnny crossed his arms, "You're trying to impress someone, huh?"

The boy jolted, "I-I didn't say anything! And why would I want to impress someone?! Also, who do I want to impress? Absolutely, no one," he said confidently. He was pretending that Jaehyun wasn't in his mind.

"Uh-huh, he spoke to you already?" the man asked and went back to his phone, typing something.

"Who...?"

"We're going to act dumb now, Yong?"

Taeyong pouted with eyebrows furrowed, "I just want to make him feel that he's not helpless and actually has a person who wants to help him, genuinely."

"Took you long enough. Let's go," Johnny stood from his chair and grabbed his bag from his seat. Taeyong was just looking at him, still processing his friend's words, and made Johnny roll his eyes, "I don't want you to bump into things, okay? So, let's start early. The professor won't be attending today, I guess."

The boy's eyes sparkled as he let out a gasp and happily clapped. Taeyong skipped his way and walked beside Johnny. He looked like a kid who just got his favorite toy. He could possibly learn how to drive in just a few days. He was able to know the pedals and rears so he should be good. He should be easy to teach.

"Ten was actually asking if you could attend practice this Sunday," Johnny said as they walked out down the hallway, towards the parking lot.

Taeyong nodded, "Sure, in return for this. I'll attend your boyfriend's dance practice. Tell him I'll be there after work."

"You must really like that guy to do this for him," the man said, changing the topic while they made their way to his car.

"So you don't think I'm weird for liking someone like him?"

Johnny unlocked his car and looked at his friend with a confused look, "Someone like him? What do you mean? He's normal, just got the wrong people around him."

Taeyong didn't know what to say, but he did feel happy with Johnny's answer. The man was naturally having a different perspective to everything. Johnny is a good guy; he just has strong facial features that made people think he's someone to be afraid of. Although Johnny tends to be too honest, Taeyong's still grateful to have him as his friend.

"Come on, get in. I'm not waiting all day."

"I'm sorry in advance if I ever break something."

"Don't even think about it."

After every class, Jaehyun would just watch his classmates go out of the room. They would go on pairs, and even more than that just going for lunch or go to another classroom. He was someone who would walk alone in the hallways. He doesn't envy them, though he was curious what would it feel like to have someone beside.

Jaehyun cleaned up his table then heard his alarm in his phone went off. He turned it off, like it was his habit, and grabbed a bottle inside his small pocket of his bag. The pills were for his anxiety. He already agreed to medicate himself to finish college, although the doctors weren't really into the idea of him attending college.

The stress won't do good and Jaehyun just get attacks and breakdowns all of a sudden, and the worst thing that could happen to him was not being able to breathe. His chest tightens every time and it wasn't the best feeling. He's scared of it. So, he's trying to hold everything back.

He just wants to feel normal.

"Jaehyun?"

Looking by the door, the man was surprised to see the boy who's been following him around for a few days now. The boy was waving at him happily, with a toothy smile plastered on his face. Jaehyun felt his heart getting flustered for some reason.

"Hey, want to go for lunch? I tried so hard to find you, by the way."

Was it really real? Someone asking him to go and eat with them? And did he hear it right? Someone looked for him? Jaehyun doesn't know how or what to answer. It felt like he's in an exam. He couldn't stop getting nervous and didn't know that the boy was already sitting beside him.

"You look nervous," Taeyong chuckled, "It's fine to say no. You have someone else to eat with you?"

Jaehyun felt the tiniest bit of urge to laugh about how Taeyong's question came out as a joke to him. Who would actually eat with him other than him? As an answer, he shook his head for a no.

"Unfortunately."

"Well, it's your lucky day! You're going with me," the boy uttered cheerfully.

"Of course..." Jaehyun said, wanting to sound jokingly but as always, it sounded monotonous. He then stood from his chair with his bag in hand and walked towards the exit.

"Why do you sound so sarcastic? Also, how was class--Hey, wait for me!"
