On Sunday, other than Taeyong attending clinic half-day, he would spend some time with Jaehyun outside. They would have their dates, relax in a park, go for a small walk, but Jaehyun asked if Taeyong's fine being in the apartment today. The man was too anxious at the moment to go out. Taeyong was fine with it, also his aunt went out to take care of some papers.
After work, Taeyong went straight to the apartment with some food he bought. They could just chill today but Jaehyun looked really upset today.
"Hey, bud, I bought some food if you want to eat," the boy uttered softly once he opened Jaehyun's bedroom door.
Jaehyun shook his head, "I'm not in the mood to eat..."
Taeyong slowly entered and went to sit on the edge of the bed. The man was just sitting on the middle of the mattress, his knees up, his arms hugging his legs against his chest while looking outside of the window.
"Do you want to talk about it? Or do you just want to take some time?" the boy asked, looking straight into the man's gloomy eyes.
Jaehyun looked back and saw the comforting smile he's been waiting for all day. He wanted Taeyong to come over earlier this morning but he didn't want to bother the boy. He's relieved to see the boy anyway.
"You want a hug, bud?"
The man smiled a little, which made the boy to give a small chuckle and moved closer. Jaehyun puts his knees down, leaned against the headboard and lets Taeyong place himself in between his thighs to hug him around the chest. The boy snuggled against the man, while Jaehyun has his on Taeyong's back.
"I haven't told you about my mother, have I?"
Taeyong shook his head, "Not yet."
"I don't...like calling her mother. It's just weird to say when she's the one who made me like this."
The boy looks up, worryingly, "It's fine if you don't want to talk about it."
Jaehyun just smiles bitterly, "It's just...my heart just feels so heavy, I want to let everything out..."
Taeyong smiled warmly, "Okay, if you want that, I'll listen."
The man took a deep breath, sighing in the process, but he really wants to take everything out. He couldn't really afford to keep it anymore. Besides, it's Taeyong.
"My mother--That lady...kept pushing me away since I was really young. I never got to know her. She'd be out late at night with who knows when she will come back, and I'm just able to eat because of the neighbors. She never took care of me...Then until I got confused which was very stupid of me. She was drunk and I happen to draw a picture of us but instead of appreciating the drawing, she...pulled me by my arm, bruising it, then threatened to kill me with a bottle shard. You know what she said to me?"
Taeyong hummed.
"No one will ever love me, she said...I find it very horrific. The thought of being alone terrifies me so much. But it's really ironic when you came, Taeyong."
The boy cupped his cheeks and pinched them, chuckling at the last sentence. Although, the man has some teary eyes, "You're strong to live up this far with that kind of trauma. I love you for that, Jae."
Jaehyun frowned, "I don't want to cry because of that."
Taeyong laughed, "I really love you, bud."
Because of that, the boy just got into the moment that he didn't think and just kissed the man, on the lips, for the first time. Taeyong realized it after a few seconds which made him to pull away and saw Jaehyun shocked about the sudden action. The boy pushed himself up, and sat, blushing red with his eyes looking away.
"I didn't mean to! I-I--It was instinct! But it's not like I didn't like it, it was very nice but I won't do it without any permission...next time. I'm sorry," Taeyong uttered without breathing, saying every word fast.
Jaehyun covered half of his face, blushing as well, "I...I don't mind."
They were left in an awkward atmosphere. Taeyong was fidgeting and Jaehyun looking elsewhere. But the boy just chuckled to lighten up the mood, which caught the man's attention. It was embarrassing moment but what would he do? He can't just tell Jaehyun to forget about it.
"My heart's about to burst," Taeyong commented, "I got too carried away."
Jaehyun didn't reply anything, he was thinking instead. Taeyong started to tell a story of his too but it comes out like a blurred and muffled. The man just stares at him while he speaks, noticing his features like he always do, and the boy was too busy speaking to notice, but it didn't take long for Taeyong to look back at him.
The boy asked himself why the man was staring at him but before he could even say anything, Jaehyun leaned and placed a quick kiss on Taeyong's lips.
Taeyong's face just recovered from intense blushing, it happened again.
"Now, we're even. You don't have to be uncomfortable."
The boy looked away, "I-I wasn't..."
"Taeyong, can I ask a favor?"
The called male stopped at the sudden question. He looked back and nodded.
"After I told you about my story...don't treat me differently, please?" Jaehyun asked, "Just stay beside me."
Taeyong nodded, smiling, "I promise..."
Suddenly, Jaehyun's unused phone rang. The boy said he'll answer it instead since Jaehyun doesn't really pick up calls. Taeyong reached for it and answered the unregistered phone.
"Hello?" the boy started.
"Hello, this is XXX hospital."
"Yes?"
