26 | his home

"I feel like dreaming."

Johnny chuckled, "You sure you weren't making up the story?"

"No! He literally confessed to me, but it really felt like a dream. Like I've gone deaf or something," Taeyong uttered, while they were watching the soccer game.

"So, you guys are a thing now?"

"That's the trend? When both of you just confessed and liked each other?"

The man shrugged, "Kids these days think like that."

The boy hummed but shook his head, "I don't think he's ready, and I think I'm not either. We're not in a hurry anyway. I want him to prioritize himself."

"Ah, a wholesome couple."

Taeyong laughed, "I don't mind not being to be in a relationship right now with him. If I finished college and he's well, we can be together, if he wants to."

"You haven't formally introduced him to us, by the way," Johnny said.

"He doesn't like noisy people."

"Come on, am I that noisy and intimidating?"

Taeyong looked at him, "Yeah...?"

"That's nonsense."

"I'll let you know if he wants to meet you guys."

The man groaned, "But have you told your family?"

The boy smiled and nodded at him, "Yeah. They're kind of okay with it. I mean, it's still a thing that could be healthy or unhealthy to a certain point. Maybe that's also why we decided to stay together as motivations for each other."

"Uh-huh, that could be right. But dates are nice," Johnny said.

"Yeah, I heard that. Mom told me we can date, as therapy for him," Taeyong commented.

"But you're going to do all the effort."

"There's nothing wrong with it. I'm fine doing all the efforts for him."

Johnny stared at him, confusingly, which made Taeyong to look back with furrowed eyebrows.

"You're too whipped."

The boy rolled his eyes at him, "Tell me you're not with Ten and I'll buy you anything."

The man felt defeated and didn't answer him. Taeyong just chuckled and watched the game. He won't be visiting Jaehyun today, though. He and his aunt went out to practice independence and get Jaehyun feel familiar around their place. Maybe he could visit after shift, though he does still have a portfolio to do.

He'll just try and see.

It was a busy day in the clinic. Taeil actually made Taeyong to take some clients, although he was still there to guide the younger. It would be much better if he lets Taeyong literally work and make some experience. The boy had fun but he got tired from it. Nevertheless, he likes the busy job.

"Good job today," Taeil said.

Taeyong nodded, "Next time again, Hyung."

"Yeah, sure. I'll let you take over again tomorrow if you want," the older shrugged while he cleans his table, preparing to go home as well.

The boy gasped, "No way?! You'll let me?"

"Of course. What are you here for anyway?"

"I should probably open my textbooks tonight."

"You're overreacting, Yong."

Taeyong chuckled, "Alright. I'll see you tomorrow, hyung. Have a safe drive."

The boy went out of the room and went to check if the animals in the other were fine. When he made sure things are good, Taeyong finally made his way towards reception area where clients would be waiting in. As soon as he reached the area, he abruptly stopped upon seeing someone seated on the waiting chair. His heart immediately fluttered just seeing him.

"Jaehyun? Why are you here?"

The man stood, with his hands in his pocket, and walked towards Taeyong who still looked really surprised to see him in the clinic.

"Wait, you don't have a pet...right?" the boy asked.

Jaehyun smiled, his ears red, "I'm here for you."

Taeyong's eyes widened, "What?! Who were you with?"

"Auntie...but she left already."

"But I don't have a car with me," the boy said, worried about how the man will go home.

The man shrugged, "...They said night walks are fun."

Taeyong's worried face faded. He chuckled and smiled warmly at him, "Let's go then."

Both of them went out, Taeyong's co-employees teased him on his way out but the boy just thought they're jealous and playfully rolled his eyes at them. The boy wanted to scream but he did it internally. He feels really happy, like it was worth getting tired today. Taeyong couldn't hide his big smile while they were walking along the sidewalk. He doesn't know that Jaehyun feels the same; having butterflies and a fast heartbeat.

"How was the therapy today?" Taeyong asked.

Jaehyun shrugged, "It's boring."

The boy chuckled, "How were you?"

"I'm good, better than I usually feel."

He could say it's because of Taeyong.

"You could have rested. I'm sure you're tired," the boy said and looked at the man beside him.

"I...just wanted to see you."

This is a dream, but he doesn't want to wake up to it. Taeyong contains his happiness inside and just looked away, not wanting to blush too much infront of the man.

"I was also going to see you. Turns out, I got too busy and thought it was too late for me to come over. And also, you were out for lunch with your aunt," Taeyong explained, "I thought I could meet you tomorrow."

"I just want to feel home and I am right now."

The boy sighed with a smile on his face, "When did you get so cheesy?"

"I was tasked to open up so I did. That's how I feel, Taeyong," Jaehyun uttered.

When did I get this lucky?

Taeyong quietly wrapped his arms around Jaehyun's arm and hugged it. They were just walking, knowing that they treat themselves their happy pills. They were comfortable on their current relationship and they'll keep it until they're ready. Things seemed like it was going fast that they'll keep the slow pace on this phase. They're good for now.

"I really love you..." Taeyong whispered.

Jaehyun heard it and had to cover up half of his face with his hand. He feels the same with Taeyong but he was too flustered to say it. The only way he showed it was intertwining their fingers together.
