Leaving the group without being noticed was not difficult at all.
It was in fact, extremely easy.
She could explain her reasons later, it's not like Infinity had better things to do anyway.
The beach they went to was splendid and perfect, that was until the annoying SeaWing and her partner showed up and slammed her into the water so hard she couldn't breathe.
While everyone was arguing, the hybrid of Night and Sea slipped away into the shadows and went ahead to see this new dragon for herself.
Infinity never understood why dragons couldn't be simple and efficient like she was. You have a goal or a job, then go do it. She was taught to be precise and to never stray from your chosen path. Which is why she just couldn't tolerate the yelling and bickering anymore.
Infinity stuck to the shadows and moved as silently as she could in between the trees' branches. If what Glory was saying was true, and this dragon could be a possible relative of hers, then it was logical that they should make sure that they were trustworthy first.
Glory is a queen, and since she just earned her throne, her position of power is delicate, to say the least. Dad always said those with authority were often targets for others who wanted that power.
A new and young queen is the perfect target.
Deathbringer has a reason to be so protective of her, but he can also be seen as a weakness for her. A queen who depends on a bodyguard at all times is easily seen as weak.
Infinity liked and respected Glory, she was strong and sarcastic, much like herself. If Infinity had to disappear for a few moments and spy on them to ensure her safety, then so be it.
When Infinity found the platform Glory talked about, she settled herself on a branch that belonged to one of the tallest trees in the area.
The others were still nowhere to be seen, but there were two RainWings talking down below on the sun time platform. One was bigger and definitely older than most of the RainWings Infinity had seen around the rainforest. The other was smaller and looked very much like Glory, but she wasn't as young as the queen.
A female relative... what if she challenges Glory for the throne? Nah, she looks too much like a scared cat that is about to get eaten by a dragon.
You never know though.
"I really am sorry for all the trouble, Grandeur. I never meant for all this to happen, I just... it's the NightWings. I don't understand why we have them here. They tortured and killed us. Oh! I do hate them! And I hate myself for letting Petal get hurt."
Infinity narrowed her eyes and watched the RainWing stranger start to pace back and forth.
"Morpha, please, just try to calm down will you? Glory will be here any moment now. She's the one you need to explain everything to. If you haven't realized, I am no longer queen, thank the three moons for that."
So this... Morpha, hates NightWings. Can't blame her. Most NightWings do suck, except for my mother and brother.
Infinity took a look around and decided to change her position on the branch in order to get a better view of the scene below her.
"If you do that, they'll know for sure you're here. That branch is the weakest one on this tree, you can tell that it's hollow by those little holes at the end of it."
The hybrid looked around at the sound of a whispering voice, but she couldn't spot sign of anybody.
"If you don't show yourself, I'll let them know both of us are here," she whispered back with a threatening tone.
"Nice try, but I'm sure you wouldn't want yourself to be caught, even if it meant letting us stay with you," a different voice answered.
Infinity frowned and analyzed the situation. The first voice was male, and the second belonged to a female. If she were to try and fight them off, it would give her position away. Add to that the fact that Glory and Deathbringer were now landing on the platform.
Infinity started, "When they're gone, don't think for a-"
"Will you be quiet! My favorite ship in the whole rainforest is finally in a clear view and you better not mess it up," the male voice whispered back.
The eye ridges of the Rain and Night hybrid raised as the statement sunk in.
Ship? What is he talking about?
Infinity wanted to growl and punch those dragons in the face, but it would do more harm than good. So she focused her attention back to the scene below her.
Deathbringer was playing the whole 'overprotective bodyguard' role while Glory seemed to handle the situation with more calmness.
"I wish I had some honey right now, this is the best drama I've seen for a while!"
Infinity turned her head to the direction of the female voice and growled softly.
"If you don't shut up I will seriously hurt you," the hybrid warned.
"Gee ok, anger problems much?"
Infinity ignored that last statement and turned back to where her brother was arguing with Morpha.
It went on for a few seconds until Glory intervened and they left shortly after.
What did they mean by taking Morpha to an island? Was it the one that mother talked about? Where all the NightWings lived in misery... yeah it has to be that one. But what do RainWings have to do with any of it.
Down below, Morpha was left alone on the platform. Infinity was about to leave and deal with the strangers that shared her hiding spot, but the way that Morpha was acting caught her attention.
Her scales had shifted to match her eyes, which were an odd blue that hurt to look at. Morpha then began to pace back and forth like she had earlier. This time however, her steps were heavy, and she seemed to even punch the platform a few times.
What in the three moons is wrong with her?
The RainWing began to mumble, but her words were soft and Infinity couldn't quite hear what she was saying to herself. Without warning, Morpha took off into the sky, in the same direction that Glory and Deathbringer had flown off to.
Something is definitely wrong here, and I will find out what it is. After I deal with my current problem.
"Now you two have some explaining to do."

Welcome back to my little story!
As you can see, some new characters are coming in, and these are your OCs that you all commented a few chapters back. I'm doing my best with what I got and hopefully I will do all of them by the time the story is over.
Thank you as always for your patience, some personal things have been coming up and it gets a little hard to write sometimes.
I love every single one of you and I will never get tired of saying it.
