In all honesty, Glory didn't know how to feel.

She didn't know if she should be excited, scared, or apprehensive... there were just too many options.

Who came up with emotions?
Whoever it was, they're plain stupid.

The queen decided that she needed to stop stalling. She had to face the situation, whether she wanted to or not.

She glanced at Deathbringer again and there was a comfort in his eyes that only he could give her. Together they flew up to the platform and stood in front of Grandeur and Glory's unknown relative.

"Glory, you're here, good," Grandeur greeted with her ancient and somewhat scratchy voice.

"Yes, I received the message. Now I request an explanation," the queen replied with a formal tone.

She refused to look at the other RainWing, she tried to pretend she wasn't there.
It was easier than facing the problem.

"Well, I'm afraid I don't have much of an explanation myself," Grandeur replied as she nodded to the other RainWing.

Glory wanted to roll her eyes, but resisted, just to be polite.

"Queen Glory, hello," the stranger said right when she made eye contact.

Immediately, Glory was taken aback.

Her eyes were so eerie, it freaked her out. They were a strong, electric blue. The perfect contrast to Glory's own eyes.

But the rest of her features matched almost perfectly with Glory's, and it was completely, utterly, scary.

The queen didn't know how she managed to keep her scales a warm lilac, but she did. However, the other dragon's scales seemed to change color every two seconds. Except that she stayed in the darker tones.

"Hello, umm..."

"Oh sorry, I am Morpha, nice to meet you," the blue-eyed dragon said and took a bow.

"Okay then, Morpha. Tell me what happened," the queen insisted with a nod.

"Yes of course," Morpha said but waited a few seconds to continue.

She seemed to be trying to compose herself, her scales colors were a dull gray and her head was bowed.

In those seconds, the rainforest seemed to quiet down. The birds stopped chirping and crying, the few gusts of wind completely stopped, and even the insects stopped making noise.

"Well, I was one of the RainWings that they captured and took to the island. And.. it was just so scary. They were so scary. The NightWings, they tortured us for I don't know how long. I didn't mean to hurt anybody, it just came out as a reflex. I was just trying to find some bananas for dinner with my friend and I saw one of them. I got scared and before I knew it my friend was covered in my venom. I swear I didn't mean it, it was an accident. It was just an accident," Morpha cried out in desperation.

Glory frowned, "Then where was Grandeur?"

"It so happened that it was my turn to collect fruit for the pile that we share at the center of village, I heard screaming and went to see what happened. When I realized that there was venom involved, I used mine just in case. Ever since the same incident happened with you those months ago, I told myself I would try and see if there was more family out there. And I guess there was," the old dragon explained.

"So then, Morpha, how are we related?"

Morpha moved her wings in a shrug and looked at Grandeur. "I was hoping she would answer that."

The old dragons's eyes looked at them carefully and it took some time before she spoke.

"You look fairly similar, perhaps half-sisters. It's rare for our tribe to have an egg more than once nowadays, and if we do, it's usually not with the same dragon. Hence why I was surprised you and Jambu even found each other. I would take a guess on cousins. You could always do the venom test and see how strong your venom cancels each other out," Grandeur suggested with a bored face.

Glory looked at Morpha, who looked at her back with a gleam in her eyes.

"I suppose we could," the queen said.

Glory walked over to the edge of the platform and focused on spitting a small amount of venom on the wood. She had practiced a few times, but it was nowhere near perfect.

Morpha spit her venom in the same spot, and unsurprisingly, the combined venom hardened.

"It took a few seconds, meaning that you aren't direct family, but it does look like my cousin theory was correct. Congratulations Glory, you found another family member," Grandeur said one last time before leaving the three dragons alone.

"Yay, I have cousin!" Morpha exclaimed and jumped to hug Glory.

Yay...

Sofi, with an update? No way.

Sorry for my absence, this whole corona thing made school harder with all these assignments and I got caught up in work.

My sincere apologies.

Now I just have final exams left, so I will get to writing a little bit more.

Thank you everyone for being so supportive, I really do appreciate you.

This story took a crazy turn, but if you guys like it then I'll keep writing. I do have an idea of what's gonna happen, but everything changes as I write, so you may never know what I'll do with these new characters.

That's pretty much it.
Oh, one more thing.

Stay home.
Please.
So many people are taking their foot off the pedal because things are opening up, but it doesn't mean we are safe yet.

In the US there is around 1,500,000 cases, that's not a small number.

Be careful out there friends. It's a scary world right now. But whatever begins must end, meaning that one day we will be able to look back at these times as the past.

Stay safe, lots of love.
If you need anyone to talk either for stress, anxiety, or anything, I'm always available to talk to. Now more than ever.

Okie Dokie

Take care, just be patient.

-Sofi
