Glory looked away from Deathbringer and Quickstrike, finding it awkward to be in the same room as the mother and son had their moment.
Her attention was caught by Infinity, who was silently slipping out of the room.
The queen gave one last glance at her bodyguard, who was still hugging his mother, before following the Night and Sea hybrid out the door.
Infinity walked to the middle of a vine bridge that connected the healer's hut with a platform and simply stood on the middle.
Glory watched her for a few seconds, wondering what could have Infinity in such a mood.
The queen made her way to the other dragon and stood next to her, not a word spoken between them.
Glory followed Infinity's gaze, but there was really nothing she could be looking at.
Ahead of them was just the rainforest trees and its dense vegetation. A few tiny, colorful birds fluttered here and there, more than likely getting ready to go to sleep.
When Infinity spoke, her voice was soft and hesitant.
"What's going to happen to me?"
Glory said nothing, not quite understanding what she meant with that question.
Emerald green met dark purple, and Glory saw that Infinity's eyes were filled to the brim with worry and uneasiness.
Her bodyguard's half sister faked a smile and continued where she left off.
"I mean, the rainforest is just absolutely lovely with its hot sun and humid weather. Which also turns out to be the one place my mother ended up stuck in."
Infinity looked up at Glory and sighed heavily. "It's just... I don't want to stay here. I'm seven years old, and I've always wanted to explore the rest of Pyrhia, see what the rest of the world is like."
The RainWing Queen knew the feeling all too well.
"But I don't want to leave my mother either we, I..." Infinity's voice faltered.
Glory felt a tugging sensation in her heart, and seeing Infinity all sad and confused was a very unsettling sight.
"The rainforest does have a coast," Glory started, not wanting to raise her friend's hopes too high.
Infinity's eyes lit up with excitement.
"It does? Oh, maybe Mother can live nearby, and I can go into the ocean whenever I like and-"
Glory closed down the hybrid's mouth with her talon in a friendly manner.
"Let's not get too excited, okay? It's late and we all need rest. We can look into it better tomorrow," the queen suggested with a raised eyebrow and small smirk.
Infinity nodded and the queen finally let go.
"Yeah, I think I'm just tired, with my Mother almost dying today, what's not to like about my life?"
The sun was finally disappearing underneath the horizon, and the darkness of the night was slowly embracing the sky simultaneously.
"You should go back to the hut you rested in last night, I can tell the others where you went," Glory said.
Infinity nodded and took off, her dark scales blending into the night.
Glory made her way back to the healer's hut as fast as she could, not wanting to get stuck in complete darkness.
When she got back, she was greeted by an anxious looking Deathbringer.
"Where in Pyrhia were you? You know how I feel when you run off without me," he asked with frustration reflecting off his silver eyes.
"I went to the Sky Kingdom to have a nice chat with Queen Ruby, where else?"
Her bodyguard raised an eyebrow.
"That's splendid, shall we be expecting war soon?"
Glory rolled her eyes at him and said, "You really do talk lots of monkey droppings sometimes."
He scrunched his nose at her but didn't comment.
"Your sister needed some company and I, like the kind and sweet dragon that I am, offered her mine," the queen answered his first question with a slight sarcastic tone.
"By the way," Glory looked around, "where is your mother?"
Deathbringer pointed at the curtain. "She went back to sleep, said her head hurt a bit. I don't blame her, mine does too."
They stared at each other in silence for a few seconds until Glory sighed.
"Let's go back to the hut, I think I've had enough of... whatever these last two days have been for the rest of my life," she confessed with a tired yawn.
"Would my queen like for me to carry her?" Deathbringer managed to say with a smirk.
Glory rolled her eyes at him. "I'm not that tired, and either way-"
The RainWing yelped as her feet were lifted off the ground and she was suddenly swinging through the rainforest in her bodyguard's arms.
"Deathbringer no! Bad Deathbringer, very bad Deathbringer. You better drop me safely or I will melt that stupid smug smirk off your face!"
His smirk only got even smugger.
"Shhh, just take it in and let yourself go," he said.
The queen felt the wind around her as he jumped from tree to tree, looking like he really didn't care for their safety.
Glory growled, "I'm quite positive you're one of the smartest dragons out there. You know there's like, two trees in the entire rainforest?!And of course we're not going to crash, why would we when you're the most agile on two feet."
The NightWing bodyguard only laughed at her sarcasm.
He has the freaking audacity to laugh?! We could actually get really hurt in this attempt to make him look cool and 'romantic'.
"You're being paranoid for nothing, we're almost there see-"
"Deathbringer!"
They both went flying into the air and collided with quite a few trees as they fell all the way down to the rainforest floor.
Glory covered her head with her wings to protect it as she suddenly felt multiple pains across her body all at once.
After what felt like centuries of slow motion she finally reached the ground, Deathbringer following only a second later.
They were only a few tail-lengths apart, had they not, Glory would have already used her venom.
The glare she sent him only caused him to smile apologetically.
"Sorry?"

Hello!
I... will just say that I took a break from Wattpad.
That's really all that happened. I was dealing with different things in my life that just didn't let me think and write for you guys.
I'm okay though, perfectly fine and healthy, so don't worry about me.
But putting that aside, I just wanted to thank you all for your patience. I know how hard it is for books that are unfinished to not continue.
I've been through it, so I know what you're feeling.
My sincere apologies everyone.
Anyway, I'm back for good now, and I will keep up with the schedule.
I love you all so much, thanks for reading and being your amazing selfs.
Okie Dokie
Don't melt in the summer heat! My recommendation, eat ice cream!!!
(And lots of it too, cause screw summer bodies)
