Deathbringer munched on his mango while the girls figured out what they could do today.

"I think it's best we just walk around the village. That way the other NightWings can see that Mom is back," he offered.

The three of them turned to him.

"Don't you think it would be weird knowing that the most important assassin the tribe had during the war just suddenly showed up alive when she died in a mission nine years ago? Dragons are going just love it," Infinity said rather sarcastically.

Oh, shoot.

"I don't think so... because they don't know Mom died," he answered and looked away.

"What?"

He internally flinched at his mother's shocked tone.

"I never told them you died. Every time they came to give us another mission, I pretended you had sent me because you were still testing me," he said easily with an apologetic smile.

"And they believed your lie for almost a decade. NightWings sure are smart," Infinity scoffed.

"Yeah, lets all forget the fact you're half NightWing," Glory chimed in.

Deathbringer chuckled and received a glare from his sister.

"She's right though, they didn't believe you the whole time did they?" Glory admitted a moment later.

Deathbringer sighed, and he could feel his mother's eyes on him.

"No, they didn't. After five years I told them one day you left and never came back. So no one knows that you're actually 'dead'. Maybe some assumed it, but they don't know for sure," he said.

Quickstrike nodded and thought about his words for some time.

"Morrowseer, is he in the rainforest too? He might not take it like the others," Quickstrike wondered aloud, a not so subtle growl following after.

At this, Glory burst into a fit of laughter.

Deathbringer's face automatically put on a smile. He couldn't help it, every time he saw or heard her laugh, it had this effect in him that was just so strange but amazing at the same time.

"He... pft! Hahahahaha, no M-Morrow, hahahaha, n-no," Glory stopped laughing when she realized everyone was staring at her.

She coughed to hide her remaining laughs before going back to her serious queenly face.

"He is definitely dead. Dead and gone, thank the moons," Glory finally said with a hint of a smile.

"Dead? Morrowseer can't... how?"

"The volcano in the island may or may not have exploded," Deathbringer told his mother with a careless shrug.

"And he may or may not have burned into ashes," Glory continued with a small grin.

"Mother... are you sure these are sane dragons?" Infinity whispered not so softly.

Quickstrike let out a bark of laughter as she threw her head back.

"I'm positive their minds are fine. Any reasonable dragon would want Morrowseer dead," she explained.

"Oh! He's the one you told me about. The kindest and sweetest dragon in Pyrhia," Infinity realized.

Quickstrike nodded.

"That one," she confirmed.

Glory finished her guava and stood up. She stretched out her neck before walking to the entrance.

"Well then, let's go. I still don't think we'll have much trouble either way. Some of the NightWings already saw Quickstrike yesterday, and the rumors are probably spreading faster than a SkyWing flies," the queen smartly noted.

Deathbringer smiled at her with a proud spark in his eyes.

"I always knew you were the smarter one of the two," he remarked.

Glory rolled her eyes but smiled in return.

"Thanks."

Infinity walked in between them with a disgusted look in her face.

"I swear to the moons, if you guys don't stop with the lovey-dovey thing I'm going to kick myself out of this tree infested place," she declared and left with her mother.

They stared at her go with puzzled looks.

"Your sister seems a bit..." Glory couldn't find the words to describe her.

"Like she's related to both you and Tsuanmi? Yeah, I noticed."

The queen snorted, "Yeah, I guess that sounds about right."

"So, where do we go to first? The RainWing village, or the NightWing village?" Deathbringer asked.

They were now walking on the rainforest floor with the other two dragons following close behind.

Quickstrike couldn't fly, not since that faithful day, so to be respectful the other three dragons walked alongside her.

"Well... seeing that we want to cause the least chaos possible, let's walk right into the NightWing area, where most of them are probably just waiting to greet us with open wings," Glory smiled... too cheerfully.

"Yeah, let's do exactly that. I feel like having my life threatened today," Infinity proposed with her usual sprinkle of sarcasm.

Deathbringer gave them a deadpan look.

"Haha, very hilarious. In fact, that's the funniest thing I've ever heard," he fired back with an eye roll.

Glory and Infinity smirked at each other.

"Is sarcasm this new... trend with young dragons now-a-days?" Quickstrike asked, clearly tired from their witty remarks.

Deathbringer grew embarrassed for some reason, but he laughed along with Glory and Infinity.

Are parents usually like that? Or was that just my mother?

If only I knew what having parents was like...

But whatever she does, she better not humiliate me in front of Glory.

That would be the end of the world.

As they approached the center of the RainWing village, Deathbringer stopped near an old and large tree.

"Mother, I think it's best if you climb up. Most of the village is built in the trees," he suggested.

Quickstrike looked up and frowned when she saw what her son meant.

"Of course it is."

She took a few seconds to analyze the tree in front of her before setting a talon on the trunk's base.

The NightWing climbed up with such an assassin-like grace and speed, that Deathbringer was sure he was the only that had seen her.

"So that's where you get all your moves from... not bad," Glory commented when Quickstrike reached the highest branch.

"Moves? Ah, you mean my superior beauty and grace," he smiled heroically.

Glory rolled her eyes but smirked.

"Huh,That's the record."

"Record? What are you talking about, my beloved queen?"

"Your record. Today is the longest you've gone without giving me your smug face. Until now, but that's why it's the record," Glory proudly announced as waves of dark purple and aqua blue took over her green scales.

"You mean this smug face? The one you love so much?"

Deathbringer purposely shaped his face into what he considered his 'heroic' face.

Glory rolled her eyes, "Yeah, that one."

"ARGH!! That's it, I'm done with you two. Peace out, and keep flirting for all I care!"

Infinity powerfully beat her wings and shot off the ground to the platform closest to her mother.

Deathbringer smirked and let his eyes meet Glory's.

"..........No."
