2. Ray tries to inspire inspire Frank
"RAY, I'M FRESH OUT OF ideas, so please if a creative thought has ever hit your head please share." It was well past midday a week after I met Gerard and somehow my deadline crept up on me. I was well into my fifth coffee of the day, hoping that the bottom of my cup could tell me the hidden fate of my characters, to no avail. "You should write about a gay cowboy who travels the country and promotes STD prevention. Call it Wrapped and Strapped. Acknowledgements: Pete Wentz, idea. Ray Toro, coffee. Gerard Way, gay." Ray scoffed. "More like Gerard Gay."
I sighed. "A mystery novel about a gay cowboy? Gee, might name him Keith and send him to space. Make him fall in love with Lance, the cute exotic kid. The real mystery is which one of them is the alien? Space racism? Spacism?" Joe's eyes suggested he knew what I was talking about. "Voltron's a great show dude, did you hear season three premiers tonight?" Ray almost spit out his cupcake. "It does?" Joe nodded.
"So no dice on Wrapped and Strapped?" Pete's eye had the all knowing twinkle about them, and after Joe spared Pete a glance he had it too. "Why don't you ask Gerard, man of my dreams, oh please Gee, wrap me in your strong arms-" I heard a snort from behind me. I turned around and was face to face with Gerard Way, gay. "Aww Frankie likes me!" He cheered. Ray started giggling like a child and ran to his coffee machine, most likely preparing coffee for Gerard. Compared to Gerard, what me and Joe drink combined is just a warm up. I'm surprised it hasn't killed him yet.
"I do not." I huffed, (hAha huffingjosh). Pete snorted. "Of course you like him. The minute after you guys met Frankie ran in here and spilled the whole story! He's lovestruck." Gerard giggled and poked my cheek. "Love me, Frankie!" I sighed at him. "Not when you act like that."
He pouted. "At least let me sit down." I rolled my eyes. "And where do you plan on doing that?" He smirked at me. "Uh, here."
He pulled my chair back a little and pulled me out of it, then proceeded to take my spot. "Hey! I was sitting there and I have to finish writing and I'm already struggling pal-" he just laughed. Actually laughed at my struggles. "It isn't funny, Gerard!"
"Okay, if you need to work then just sit down! Jeez, Frankie. Touchy." I stared at him, incredulous. "Where do you think I can sit? That's my chair-" he cut me off. "So sit down then." I frowned at him. "But you're in it?"
Pete laughed. "Do something about it then!" I glared at Pete. Dumb midget. "Like what? He's twice my height, dude. I can't exactly pull him out-" Gerard looked exasperated. He spun the barstool around a little bit and reached over, pulling me into his lap. "There you go, this shits easy peasy pumpkin peasy, pumpkin pie motherfucker." My face felt like it was on fire. Gerard was really comfortable to sit on and the extra height gave me easier access to my keyboard.
"W-well," Jeez. He's really turning me, the tough Frankie, into a stuttering mess. "I need to work on my st-story, any ideas?" Pete rolled his eyes. "Frankie~" Ray came back with two mugs of coffee, setting them down in front of us.
"How about a guy named after his fathers killers? And he's a cop and only knows their first names?" Ray actually had a good idea. Gerard nodded. "And he's got two very generic names and finds out one of the names was his fathers name?" Ray agreed with Gerard. "Yeah, and maybe it's a family name and the grandpa kills the dad!" Pete finished. The idea was actually quite good.
"Thanks you guys, I'll pitch it tomorrow. Any ideas for names?" Joe hummed slightly. "The name is murder?" Gerard and Ray both agreed with Joe, alas Pete wanted Wrapped and Strapped still. I let out a sigh of relief. "I could really use some relaxation time, but my apartment is under construction so that's out." I leaned back so my head was resting on Gerard's chest, which was vibrating since he was mid conversation with Ray. He looked down and me and gently smiled. "You could come to mine? Sleep in my bed- I've got a king, and watch a movie or something." Joe chuckled. "Get it!"
I rolled my eyes at him. "That'd be lovely, Gerard, but finish your coffee first." He nodded and went back to talking, the vibrations in his chest mixing with his heartbeat lulled me to sleep.
