I hear a ping sound as my mom runs into the room with my screaming sister. I jump out of bed because I know what's happening. Grabbing my sister from my mom while tears spring to my eyes is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.
"Melania, take care of her, she is important and the Edge realm needs her. I am going to give you a map to the Edge realm so you can take her there and be safe from the dangers if this world. I probably won't make this out alive, but if I know you and Alea are safe, I will die happy." My mom says with tears streaming down her face. She wipes the tears of off my cheeks and pulls me into the living room where she gives me a map.
"Mom," I whimper,"I'm I'm scared. What is going to happen to you and dad?"
"We may die sweetie, but if you are safe, we have done everything we were put on this world to do."
"I will miss you mom," I say and my mom wraps me in her warm embrace. I cry into her shoulder until the ground shakes and the horrible reality hits us in the face. I unwrap my arms from around my mom, take the map from her hands, whisper goodbye, and run down the hill also known as my backyard. Jumping into the boat with my baby sister in my arms, I cut the rope keeping the boat connected to everything I know, and we are separated from everything we have ever known. All I know is one thing:
I have to get the Edge Realm's princess to the Edge Realm.
