WHEN JACKIE COMES TO VISIT

We always have so much fun

When Jackie comes to visit.

At any time of the year

She brings happiness and cheer.

She packs homemade treats to eat.

When she bakes, I can't compete.

She wallops me in Scrabble

But I still like to dabble.

Last time she brought her music

Which she thought was fantastic.

It must have been quite classy

Though I thought it was crassy.

I have no right to comment

And will probably lament

Since Jackie's such a good friend

Whom I should never offend.

I could not really focus;

It irked me like a ruckus.

Next time I will light the fire.

We'll play songs from Jackie's choir.

I will serve warm ginger beer.

'Tis the right time of the year.
