Trust

This is a dream.

Of course.

He'd wake up in his room, finding that he had just fallen asleep.

Chat blinked, his eyes closing, then opening again.

No.

This was not a dream.

Though this was his dream.

Right in front of him, was Marinette.
Right in front of him, was Ladybug.

And, right in front of him, were both of them.

The same person.

Everything...Everything that had happened, came flooding back to him.

When he met Ladybug, that beautiful voice he fell in love with....was Marinette's.

All those times he preformed with Ladybug, that was Marinette.

Baking cupcakes with Marinette, he baked cupcakes with Ladybug.

Seeing Marinette in her lazy clothes, he was seeing Ladybug.

Kissing Marinette....he...was kissing Ladybug.

Ladybug, ended up being the bakers daughter, the wonderful designer, one of his best friends since the beginning of high school.

Marinette, was none other than the amazing singer, with a talent of joking around with him, even though she pretended to hate his puns.

The two...

Were one.

Marinette swallowed, her smiled slowly fading into a worried frown.

"Chat....Adrien....say something...." she pleaded, her voice barely above a whisper. She lowered the mask back into her lap, twirling the ribbon that held it in her face between her fingers.

He tried to speak, he really did. But he couldn't. All he could think about....was how he hurt them.

He hurt Ladybug, telling her lies that even he himself didn't believe.

He hurt Marinette, by speaking without thinking, something that happened too often around them.

He thought he had hurt two people, which was bad enough....But no. He had hurt the same poor girl, more than once.

"I-" She stuttered.

"I'm sorry I disappointed you....this was a bad idea." she mumbled, a pain stitched into her voice like a woven blanket.

She stood up, about to run off, before Chat caught her hand.

But he couldn't find his voice.

So he yanked her down, gentley, but enough to bring her face to his.

And he kissed her.

Again.

But this had a different urgency, not an urgency that he needed her because he was lonely. And not because he just wanted a kiss.

He did it because he had to make her stay.
He couldn't let her leave again. Not ever again.

"No..." he whispered, taking a gasp for air, before pressing his lips to hers again, with more urgency than before.

She moved her lips on instinct, as he brought his hands to her waist. He pulled her down, where she was sitting beside him. Both of their bodies were turned to face one another, lips locked.

He moved his hand to her cheek, softly pushing her hair behind her ears. Though it was technically up, it still hung in her face.

No thoughts were to cloud their minds at the moment. Though there were plenty of thoughts to go around, they seemed to be pushed back to the depths of their skulls. And even though Marinette was having her doubts, her lips moved.

Their arms were in a linked kind of position, somehow, in a weird, but good way.

But Marinette couldn't keep this moment lasting. She knew they would both have questions. It was best not to put them off again.

She pulled away, hesitantly, almost as if she were drawn to him.

The two caught their breath.

Their arms, in the strange position, stayed there, until something caught Marinette's eye.

"Adrien...." she whispered, reaching her hand out to touch the skin of his arm.

His sleeve must have rolled upwards in the motion, revealing his playful kitten mark.

It was glowing green, illuminating the two's face.

Adrien jerked his arm away, trying to hide it, but Marinette was too quick.

She gripped onto his wrist, yanking his arm towards her.

"Marinette!" he yelled, but not loud enough to draw attention to them.

"What? What is this?" she looked stunned, in awe, as she stroked his arm.

Adrien was in awe too, the more she touched the mark, the brighter it got. She pushed his sleeve upwards a bit more, just enough to reveal the words etched into his skin.

Adrien's eyes widened, and this time, he really did pull his arm away, and yanked his sleeve down with it.

"Adri-" she started, but she was cut off.

"Stop." he spoke sternly.

"What?" she questioned, watching as he rubbed his arm as if he were just punched.

"Don't do that. Don't do something I tell you not to." he spoke, sounding angry again.

Why did he always sound so angry? It was painful for her....it was her fault.

But she wasn't going to let him control her. But she wasn't going to yell either.

"Okay. I get it. But you don't tell me what to do." she stated calmly. Now wasn't the time to start another fight.
Never was the time to start another fight.

Adrien realized he was being a bit of a douche, so he just nodded.

"Okay......but why does it do that?" she asked, pointing to his arm.

"I-i don't know." he answered truthfully.

Just like he didn't know why he needed her so bad. Or why he kept acting like a jerk all the time. She didn't deserve it. But she was so calm, she dealt with his attitude. He didn't deserve her.

But he wanted her.

"When does it do that?" her head turned to the side a bit, glancing around the area. They were still in public.

Though everyone was gone from the park, she grew anxious.

"Lets...go to my house." He offered, knowing they would need a private place to talk about things like this.

"Oh...okay." she mumbled, her cheeks growing red, as well as the tips of her ears.

"Shall we?" he asked, reaching his arm to link with hers.

"Sure." she giggled, reaching out her arm as well.

They made their way out of the park and down the nearly empty streets. It was a bit strange, but they enjoyed it.

The Agreste mansion was a bit of a walk away, so Marinette decided to bring up another topic that had been in the back of her mind for a good while.

"Adrien?" she began.

"Yeah?"

"What...What are we?" she struggled to find the words she wanted to say.

She needed to know. She wanted to know what he felt. She knew exactly what she felt.

"What do you mean?" he asked.

"Well...are we just friends that kiss when we're bored?" she looked down, wondering if that's what he felt.

Adrien stopped, physically stopped. His feet stood firm on the ground. He looked down at her.

"I don't just kiss anyone Marinette. I really like you. Don't you get that? I don't just kiss anyone because I'm bored. I kiss you, because I like you." he explained.

She felt her face heating up, but her doubts were still in motion.

"But....would you like me....even if I wasn't Ladybug?" she felt her eyes grow a bit glossy. She wasn't the emotional type, but lately, she was feeling a bit broken.

Adrien stared at her.

"Marinette. I like you, because you're you. Ladybug is just a name. Marinette, you give Ladybug a meaning, without you there is no Ladybug." he whispered.

"But what if I'm nothing like ladybug, what if she is just everything I wish I was?" she sniffled, feeling a tear roll down her cheek.

He reached his hand down, wiping the tear away.

"Marinette. You are so clueless. Don't you see? You are Ladybug. Whether you wear a mask or not. The only person who doesn't believe you're worthy, is you." he sighed, pulling her to his chest, and hugging her.

"Bu-" she wanted to argue, say everything that's wrong with her. But he wasn't going to let her.

"No. You have to trust me...okay? Trust me. You are worth it." he stroked her hair.

She breathed in his scent, letting it dance in her nose as her thoughts raced a bit more. She wanted to believe him, she really did, though she was struggling. But she had no other choice. She was going to believe him this time, because believing herself hurt too much.

"Okay." She whispered.

"I trust you."

**********

Guys, I feel like I haven't posted in forever good graciousness. (lol wut?)

Sorry, this chapter just took a while to write because I was procrastinating. Lol.

Anyways, once I get this story at a good point, I'll start working on the other one again. And maybe a pregnancy au, and another au I might or might not do. Lol that kinda rhymed.

How many frickin lol's am I gonna have in this?

Oh. Does any anyone ever notice, that when you see lol, you read it as l-o-l.....but when you see wtf, you read it as what the fuck.....

Just me? Okay.

Oh, and btw guys, I don't actually curse in real life, but I think it adds more emotion to story, so yeah. I'm actually a good child, but ya know, you gotta do what ya gotta do to write.

Btw. That "comic" from the last chapter (i deleted it, so if you saw it you'll know) wasn't my idea, and the art was bad. I promise I can do better than that lol.

Anyways, sorry for the randomness right here, hope you enjoyed❤❤❤❤
