Story

Hey sorry for the break, but I wanted to spend time with my family for the holidays!! Anyways I'm back on.......'schedule'.......*cough*. Okay but I'm really gonna try to update once a week at least. Please don't give up on me!!!

An engulfing darkness was surrounding them. All noise blocked by a unknown ringing in their ears. Their hearts raced, unable to move, or do anything at that matter. Only able to stare into the deep pits of dark that blurred in their eyes.

Everything was black.

Marinette tried to scream, just to try and make some kind of noise, but only a strangled breath escaped. And a silent one at that.

It was like one of those nightmares, where, no matter how hard you try, you can't scream. You can't run, you can't do a single thing but await whatever deadly fate may lie ahead.

But there was a difference between the nightmare, and whatever the two were experiencing.

This was real, and this couldn't be stopped by waking up.

A hand reached out for Marinette, she felt the brush of fingers against her own. Without a second thought, she firmly grasped the hand that was connected to the fingers.

Adrien.

She felt the hand squeeze her own, and for the moment, she wasnt so terrified.

She didn't know what to expect, but at the same time, she felt like this was something she knew all too well.

A weightless feeling overtook her entire body, and she felt as if she were flying. For all she knew, she could be.

But that thought was silenced, as her feet hit solid ground, though her eyes couldn't confirm that.

The hand squeezed hers once more, and she did the same.

Slowly, her ears began to work, and she could hear her own breaths, along with that of another.

"Marinette?" a whisper broke through the crisp air, seemingly coming from the direction of the hand.

"Adrien?" She whispered back, feeling
the grasp of the hand falter.

The hand let go.

Marinette gasped, as she felt a pair of strong arms wrapping around her.

She smiled, squeezing the body to her own in a hug, gripping to the soft fabric of his shirt.

The scent of Adrien flooded her nose, and she took in a sharp breath.

Neither one of them were sure what was happening at the moment, they were just glad they didn't have to do it alone.

"God that was scary..." he sighed into her hair, and though he couldn't see her, he was happy to know she was there.

"Tell me about it...." she mumbled against his chest.

"Where are we....?" he loosened his grip on her, attempting to take a look around, to find that he couldn't see anything beyond the endless span of dark.

"I don't know..." she whispered, doing the same thing as him, and ending with the same result.

"Sorry about all of that."

A voice rung in the distance. An unfamiliar one. But it sounded so calm, so....strange.

"Who said that?" Adrien called, twisting in Marinette's arms in an attempt to see through the dark.

A light flickered across the room, quickly faded back into the blackness.

"I know this is strange for you two, I apologize for it. But you've done this before, have you not?" the voice spoke.

"No...." Marinette whispered, but she had hesitated, and she herself couldn't figure out why.

"You say that, but you know you don't believe it." the voice said, such a wise voice.

Neither of the two could find themselves in terror, though they knew they should be.

"What do you want....?" Adrien whispered, gripping onto Marinette tighter.

He's being protective...

"It's not what I want. It's what you want." The voice rang.

The lights flickered to life, revealing what seemed to be an empty room, except for the rows of books covering walls on the shelfs. It looked to be some kind of library, as the scent of fresh and old book pages tickled their noses.

"Answers." it spoke.

Marinette and Adrien hesitantly let go of one another.

Across the room stood a small, old man. The source of the wise voice. He looked to be aged quite a lot, but both of them could already tell his age could deceive.

There was no way this old man was what he seemed.

He lifted his hand, and gestured the two over to where he stood across the room with a smile.

They slowly walked over to him, somewhat calming the tense atmosphere.

"Don't be shy children, you want answers, do you not?" he smiled again, and the teens walked a bit faster.

"Where are we...?" Marinette asked the man, once they reached him.

"Right now.....we're in a library." he chuckled. Gesturing around them.

The man sat down on a pillow on the floor, patting two pillows beside him.

Adrien and Marinette sat down beside him, glancing at each other.

"Now I know none of this makes since to you right now. But soon it will be explained. For the moment, I'm gonna ask you some questions......is that okay?" the man glanced between the two, sensing the confusion.

The two nodded.

"Marinette. Your mark came late. Right?" he asked.

Her eyes widened at the sound of her name, breaking her from her silent trance.

"Yeah.....how do you know that stuff....?" she spoke, a shiver crawling up her spine.

"I don't expect you to remember dear,
Just relax." he chuckled.

She looked at him confused, but simply shook it aside.

She took a deep breath, and nodded her head.

"Adrien, her handwriting appeared on your arm, as well as a glow of your mark?" he questioned.

"Yes....yes sir...." Adrien nodded.

"Neither of you know what these mean....do you?"

"No...." they both spoke in unison.

The man smiled, before reaching behind him and grabbing a book.

"Let me read you this story...."

He opened the book, and a wisp of blue danced from the pages.

The mist of blue formed shapes in the air, telling the story as the man spoke.

Long ago, before the world became so cruel, people lived in harmony with those called "miraculous". Miraculous were unlike normal humans, for they had special powers. They were born with a special mark, though it would show up at different times. There were 7 miraculouses, each with a purpose to help mankind. People would worship them, but the miraculouses did not want worship, they only wanted to help the world. When a miraculous died, another would be born in there place with the same powers. The miraculous were not hereditary, but out of pure chance. It was a blessing to be a miraculous, but also a curse.

Some people were selfish, and wanted to keep the miraculous for themselves. One miraculous, the butterfly miraculous, was captured by a greedy man. He used the miraculous for his own fortune, forcing him to put on shows, and using his power to himself.
The butterfly miraculous turned cold, his heart frozen like ice.  The heart couldn't be fixed, and the miraculous died. Ever since, anyone who became the butterfly miraculous, was cruel hearted, and used their powers for harm. The Ladybug and Cat miraculous, we're the only ones who could save the poor soul. For they were the strongest, they were connected in a special way. They had love, stronger than any other miraculous. They were also the rarest. Unlike the others, these miraculous weren't born whenever another died, but only whenever it was needed most. For their power had been misused as well.

The miraculous were becoming too strong, and evil was overcoming them. So, a group of powerful masters came together, and decided it was best to live without miraculous. They wiped the memories of all who knew of miraculous, and the miraculous themselves using a special spell. They could not take the powers from the miraculous, but only make them forget of them. And the power grew dull, as it was unused. And the world forgot about magic, and they could only see magic as evil.

But The butterfly has returned.....the butterfly remembered the miraculous. And The butterfly miraculous is growing in power. And only the Ladybug and Cat have a chance to end the evil all together.

Guys I am soooo sorry for the wait, it's been crazy lately. I've been sick, and lots of other family things have been going on and the holidays and ughh.

I just hope I can get on a schedule, but I'm still in school, so it's difficult.

Don't hate me❤❤
