It's Me
CONTAINS SWEARING.
(Guys, I'm sorry if you don't enjoy swearing/cursing, but remember, I want this book to show emotion, and sometimes we say things like that when we get emotional. So I'm sorry if you don't enjoy it, but please respect my decisions of using it in my book)
What should he know?
What did she know?
What kind of question is that?!?!
He saw the confusion in her eyes.
"Ladybug. Tell me. What. You. Know." Chat spoke slowly, but his voice was stern, as if he were scolding her.
She wasn't some child, who stole a peice of candy. She was basically an adult.
"Well I'm sorry if I'm a bit confused at the moment Chat! Maybe if you would clarify what you mean!" She snapped back.
She felt bad taking her anger from the past few days out on him, but in her defense, they were mostly caused by him.
Chat wasn't in too much of a good mood either.
"Hey! You have not right to yell at me!
You're the one who knows my identity!!" Chat yelled.
She was greatful no one was in the park. Because this, would not look good on the news. This would not look good for their reputations.
"I have no right?!? Oh, so now you're my boss!?! Last time I checked, I was the one with info against you. I'd watch my tone mister." She jerked from his grip, to jab him with her pointer finger in between his ribs.
Chat looked at her, his expression so fierce, he looked as if he could snap her in half.
But she showed no signs of fear, if anything, she was nearly as riled up as he was.
"Ladybug. I am not in a good mood. Now is not the time for your period mood swings." Chat glared at her, snarling out his ridiculous joke.
Her mouth hung open, a look of disgust and anger rolled over her face faster than a wave crashing over a beach.
"Adrien Agreste." She scoffed.
She grabbed his collar, and yanked him to her face for the second time today.
"More like asshole Agreste. You better be glad as hell that I'm not on my period, otherwise, you would've been on the floor a good...........30 minutes ago!" She let go, shoving him backwards. She looked away.
He luckily he put his arms back, catching himself before falling off the edge of the bench.
He was infuriated. Completely and
totally inraged.
He was about to yell at her, tell her off, do anything to get his anger out.
But he stopped.
He saw her shake.
She was crying.
Marinette swallowed, her eyes watered, she couldn't stop it this time.
Why was all of this happening? Why were they always fighting?
There had been so many I's and you's in their conversation. So many times, where they would point fingers at the other. Claiming the other was to blame. But it was both of them.
They were both to blame.
They kept hurting one another.
Over and over.
When would it stop?
Chat sat still, having similar thoughts as her, he resited the conversation in his head.
Wait a minute.
"30 minutes ago?" he whispered.
She looked up, blinking back a tear that had built up in her eye.
"What?" she hiccuped.
"You said...I would've been on the floor 30 minutes ago.....but we haven't even been here for 30 minutes...." Chat arched his brow.
"I know." she stated, not understanding why this mattered.
"I was at Marinette's 30 minutes ago." Chat stared into her baby blues, swimming with the sky, the ocean, and every single blue he loved.
Realization hit her like a truck down a highway.
"I....it ......just in the moment?"
Why did her voice always sound like a question?
"No....you thought about it. You paused before you said it." He stared at her.
She looked at him.
Shit.
Was the only word she thought of.
"Ladybug. Please don't lie to me." Chat's voice cracked.
His eyes were watering now.
"Please just tell me the truth." Chat wiped his eye as a single tear fell into his cheek.
Marinette stared at him.
How could she do this to him?
He hurt her.
True.
But was she any better? Nothing she had said was making anything better. Nothing.
They needed to fix this.
Chat's weak voice rasped again.
"Were you.....watching me? Us?.....me and Mari?" He croaked.
Mari.
If it weren't for the situation, the nickname would've heated her up like an oven. But she was beyond blushing at the moment. She just wanted to to....something.
Something to fix it.
And lying wasn't that something.
"No." she whispered.
She hadn't been watching them. She was one of them.
All of the things that had happened, they were over. She couldn't go back and stop them. But she could, try her hardest, to do something.
"Did Marinette tell you?" He asked, noticeably trying to cover the tears on his cheeks, and the saddness of his voice.
"No...she didn't." She spoke.
There was only one way to make sense of all of this.
He looked at her, looking like he had given up.
"I'm...I'm just trying to fix things.....Please let me fix things....." His voice grew more and more sorrowful. And his tears fell harder.
She felt the weight of both of their saddness.
"Chat..."
"I can't fix this.....If you keep lying to me....." Chat whispered.
He hung his head, letting his hair droop into his face.
She let out a struggled sigh, bring her hand to his face.
"Chat look at me." she gentley caressed his cheek, allowing him to move his head at his own will.
"Please...." She bit her lip, trying not to whimper as she spoke.
He slowly lifted his head, not bothering to push his hair from his eyes.
She brought her other hand to his face, to brush his hair away from his eyes. She brought her hand back to her lap, keeping the other on his cheek.
"I'm sorry." she said.
"But.." he whimpered
She cut him off
"Chat. You've said sorry. I told you, it's okay. Now it's my turn." She gave him a weak smile.
She took her hand from her lap, taking one of his in her grasp. She lightly squeezed his hand.
"I'm sorry that I've been so distant Chat. I know you didn't mean what you said."
He leaned his head against her hand, was she rubbed her thumb along his cheek.
"But I didn't tell you I didn't mean it. I should've, I really didn't mean it....." He sighed.
"You did tell me Chat." she smiled.
"No I......I didn't...." he argued.
She sighed.
"Chat, I need to tell you the truth." she shifted uncomfortably.
Chat waited for a moment, until she began getting up.
"Where are you going?" he asked.
"I have to do something." she told him.
"But...." he stood up as well, but she sat him back down.
"I'm not leaving Chat." she whispered, before walking off towards the exit.
Chat sat in silence, waiting.
5 minutes passed, but Ladybug wasn't there.
But a familiar face came walking up.
"Marinette..." he whispered.
She was wearing a pink dress, similar to the spotted one Ladybug was wearing.
He stood up abruptly, meeting her as she walked towards the bench.
"Marinette I am so sorry." he began.
She pressed a finger to his lips.
"Shhhh. I know. Its okay Adrien." she gestured for him to follow her.
She sat down, him beside her.
"What's wrong? Besides what happened in my room?" she giggled, a pink tint taking over her cheeks.
He felt his face heat up as he remembered what happened as well.
"Ladybug.....she said she wouldn't leave. But she's gone." he whispered.
It hurt him to say that.
She had just said she would tell him the truth, but there she was, lying to him.
"No she's not." Marinette swallowed.
"What do you mean, she's not? I just watched her leave." Chat told her.
"Chat. Just....listen....okay?" She gulped.
This was it.
This was what was going to happen. Whether she was ready or not, this was it.
She let out a heavy breath.
Then she sang.
"Heart, beats, fast...colors and promises...."
This was the song she was singing when they had met. Except now she was singing it as Marinette, not Ladybug.
"How to be brave....how can I love, when I'm afraid..to fall."
She looked up at his expression, which was unreadable.
"But watching you stand alone."
She smiled
"All of my doubt, suddenly goes away somehow."
This was it, there was no turning back now.
"One, step...closer."
She stopped for a moment.
He knew that voice. He knew it.
"I have died, everyday, waiting for you." His voice rang.
He let a soft smile tug on his lips.
"Darling dont, be afraid, I have loved you for a-"
"Thousand years."
"I'll love you for a thousand more..."
She let out a soft sigh.
He sat, shocked, as realization hit him. A train of stupid obviousness smacked him straight in the face.
"You're Ladybug...." he whispered. It wasn't a question. He was mostly just confirming it to himself.
She pulled her mask out of a pocket on the side of her dress.
She held it up to her face.
"Surprise?"
***********

And just in case it was confusing, when Marinette sings, it's only italicized. When Adrien sings, it's only bolded.
When they both sing, it's italicized and bolded.
Aight, got that out of the way.
If you guys have any questions or anything just feel free to ask, I might do a Q and A chapter if you'd like. Anywayzzzz thanks for reading, hope to write again soon❤❤❤❤
