Handwriting

After Alya left, Marinette felt alot better. She still wasn't ready to talk to Chat yet though. She knew he wanted to apologize, but at the moment, she just couldn't look at him.

She knew he was hurt too, so maybe it was better that way. All he wanted was to see her smile, but at the moment, she couldn't give that to him.

So she went to bed. That way, she couldn't worry about the rest of the day.

Meanwhile

Adrien ran a hand through his slick blonde hair.

How was he ever gonna make it up to her?

He also had other things to think about.

Why was Marinette crying?
What upset her?
Why had she seemed so tense around him?
Was Ladybug okay?
Was Marinette okay?
Could she be trusted with his identity?

She seemed hestitant when promising to keep his secret. Though it hadn't been important when he first started being Chat Noir, it was now. He didn't realize the consequences earlier.

What was she planning to do? Would she really keep his secret?

Oh come on Adrien, she's not like that.

He silenced his thoughts and made his way to his bathroom.

Maybe a shower would wash away his many emotions.

His mark began to glow again.

Why did it do that? It did that around Marinette and Ladybug, why was it doing it now? Was it attracted to blue hair or something? Was it because he was thinking about them?

He stared at it for a moment, just watching it glow in the dimly lit room.

It was almost as if it were trying to tell him something.

Then something even weirder happened. It was like someone was writing on his skin with a pen. But there was no one, and there was no pen. Just a line twisting across his skin, like it was embedded into it. It looked like something from Harry Potter.

He stared in shock, ultimately afraid to move. He blinked a couple times, not believing his own eyes.

But no. He was right. Right there, underneath his glowing mark, in beautiful red swirling letters, were the words

Don't let me go.

In Marinette's handwriting?

The Next Morning

The good thing about summer, is that you don't have to go to school. That's what everyone is so happy about, right?

The flaw of summer, is that it's harder to occupy yourself. Marinette was having a very hard time at the moment.

It was 9:00 a.m

Not to early for a walk, right?

She threw on a big t shirt and a pair of leggings. She laced up her converse and made her way out the door.

With her phone in her hand, and her earphones in her ears, she walked to the park.

Her feet barely made a noise. Music drowned out all of the sounds of the city. The rushing cars, children begging for another bag of goldfish. People yelling into cellphones, bumping into others.

If people would just slow down.....and look around, maybe they would notice more.

Her eyes scanned around the streets, so many people, and all of them were different.

Maybe she didn't need Adrien, there were plenty more guys. And even more outside of Paris.

She made it to the park in no time, and took a seat on the empty park bench. Not many people were at the park, so it was quite peaceful.

She let the music take control, as the next song on her playlist rung in her ears. She couldn't help but sing, softly, but passionately.

It was great at the very start, hands on each other

Couldn't stand to be far apart....the closer the better.

She closed her eyes.

Now we're picking fights.

She saw her and Chat fighting.

And slamming doors.

She saw herself running back to the bakery.

Magnifying, all our flaws

She saw herself, and all of her flaws.

And I wonder why

Why did she like Adrien so much?

Why we keep coming back for more

Why?

Is it just our bodies...?

Are we both losing out minds?

Is the only reason you're holding me tonight....cause we're scared to be lonely?

She was so lost, she didn't realize a certain blonde was in the park too.

That certain blonde must have had the same idea, going for a walk.

She glanced up, and noticed him near the entrance, and making his way over.

She quickly shut up, and took her headphones out of her ears.

He would know what her voice sounded like, and she wasn't about to reveal herself.

Adrien on the other hand, was still super confused about his mark. If his suspicion was correct, the words that were on his arm were in Marinette's handwriting.

It was still there.

He had made sure to wear a long sleeved shirt.

Adrien waved at her, and eventually made his way all the way to the bench and took a seat.

"Hey Marinette." He smiled

"Hi Adrien." She smiled back.

She wasn't necessarily angry anymore, but it was a bit difficult to talk to him....since he was Chat. At least she wasn't Ladybug at the moment.

"So, what are you doing out here?" He asked.

"Just decided to go for a walk." she answered, putting her phone down.

"Me too." he told her.

"So..,are you an Ladybug gonna sing anytime soon?" She asked, out of pure curiosity.

"Umm...I'm not sure."he looked down, guilt washing over him once again.

She felt bad for asking, but At the same time She wanted to know his answer. She was patient.

"She doesn't want to talk to me.,." he sighed, scratching his neck.

She looked down.

"Maybe she's just going through some stuff right now." she reasured him.

It was true.

It was only a matter of time before the word got around about her mark.

"I guess so..." he looked around the park, children running around.

"So.....what is it about Ladybug.....that you like?" Marinette asked, gulping a bit.

Adrien looked a bit shocked. No one had really ever asked him that kind of question before.

"Well....I can't really explain it...." Adrien said truthfully, what did he like? Everything.

"Oh...ok." dang. She was so close.

"Uh...hey Marinette..." He pulled a sheet of paper and an ink pen from his back pocket.

"Yeah?" she questioned, confused by what the heck he was doing.

"Could you write....uh the name of this song I've been thinking of writing?" he quickly blurted, needing an excuse of why he needed her hand writing.

"Can't you write it?" She chuckled.

"Umm...my handwriting isn't very...neat?" he lied.

What is he up to? His handwriting is very neat.

She decided to let it go, and took the paper and pen from his hands.

"Ok. What is it called?"

"Don't let me go." he answered.

She wrote it down, fast but neat.

She folded the paper in half.

*rinnnggggg*

Her phone started to ring.

"Hello?" she answered it.

The person on the other side spoke.

"Oh...ok.......I love you too!" she hung up and handed him the paper.

"Sorry Adrien, My mom needs help in the bakery." She waved goodbye and ran off in the direction of her home.

He waved, before grabbing the paper.

He unfolded it, and pulled up his sleeve.

And there, on both his arm and his paper were the words

Don't let me go.

In Marinette's handwriting.
