13. Captain Swan

Emma awoke the next morning to the velvety aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Her eyes not yet open, Emma could hear the distant sound of Regina's humming as dishes clinked together from the kitchen.

Emma stretched out her limbs, as the early morning sun poured through the glass of the windows. As she made her way to the spiral staircase from the second floor of Regina's mansion, she pulled on a robe that hung on the back of the bedroom door.
"Ah, you're awake." Regina said to a groggy Emma as she padded her way into the room. Regina grinned, handing her a warm mug.
Emma closed her eyes, bringing the mug up to her face, "Yea.. how did you sleep?"
"Wonderfully." Regina said through her smile.
Emma took a seat at the table, sipping the contents from her mug.
"So Um, now that you're awake, there's something I'd like to talk with you about.." Regina started. She handed Emma a small plate of French toast with fresh raspberries. Emma's eyes went wide at the sight of food, and eagerly began pouring maple syrup over her plate from the bottle on the table. Regina sat down at the table across from her, she continued, "Actually, I've been meaning to tell you for quite some time.. though, it's not so easy.."
"It's fine Regina, you can tell me anything, you know that." Emma reassured her between mouthfuls of sweet sugary toast.
Regina offered a tight smile. Taking her breath in, she spoke "As I explained before, Robin and I were never able to have children of our own. According to the doctors, I was not fertile enough to produce my own ovum, so, no matter how hard we tried, every pregnancy test turned up negative."
Nearly choking on her breakfast Emma replied, "Reallllly didn't need to know the details Regina.."
"Oh, true... sorry." Regina replied.
"Anyway, we were really struggling and I have always wanted children of my own, you remember?"
Emma smiled, staring into her mug she recalled a familiar memory, "Actually, yes. I remember when we were kids we'd always joke around and say that some day, we'd run away together and start our own family of misfits haha.. anytime I had any doubts about taking care of a child you'd always remind me that we'd work through it together and we'd be just fine."
Regina smiled down at her hands as she too remembered the sweet conversations of their childhood.
"I always meant it, you know."
"Ppfftt.." Emma snorted into her mug, taking a sip, "Then why did you leave?"
Suddenly the room felt cold.
After a long silence, Emma replied "Regina, I'm sorry.."
"No," Regina quickly answered back, her chin up, "I did leave. I thought I knew what was best, and I was wrong."
Once again silence fell over the room as the two women continued to nurse their coffee.
"Please, continue." Emma asked, breaking the silence.
"Having wanted a child so badly, I sought other possible options. There was adoption, finding a surrogate, fostering.. but, though these options were great, I still felt disconnected somehow.. like the child would never really be my own."
"Yea, I can understand that." Emma empathized.
"So, I did a ton of research, pouring my entire life at the time into it. For months I looked into clinics, doctors, research facilities, websites and books.. until I finally found what I was looking for. There was a very reputable clinic not far from the city that specialized in cases like mine. There, with proper vitamins, medications and some amazing doctors, I was told that although my body would never produce its own ovum, it was still possible for me to give birth to my own child. Because The doctors were able to find a compatible female donor, and combined it using Robin's DNA, they were able to give me the child Id yearned for."
"You know," Emma began, "as a struggling student during my college years, I was put into a position quite a few times where I found myself donating blood, and plasma just to get by. I've even donated my own eggs at one point. It was a difficult position, but it's reassuring to know there are other women out there, other couples that my donation will hopefully help out one day."
"Yes!" Regina smiled, sitting up straight in her chair. A new feeling of hope washed over her, "That's exactly my point, now that you mention it Em.."
Just then, their conversation was cut short by the ring of Emma's cell.
"Oh!" Emma was was startled by its sudden ring, "It's the.. Boston police department.. I gotta take this."
Quickly, Emma stood and walked into the livingroom, Regina followed, wondering why the Boston PD would be calling.
"This is Detective Swan, yes?" Emma said into her phone as she answered the call.
"Mmhmm.. ok. Oh, umm.. yea I can meet you there no problem. Ok. Thank you."
What is it?? Was it about Henry?!" Regina asked, wide eyed.
"The BPD received an anonymous tip last night of the possible whereabouts of your son." Emma replied, tucking her phone into the pocket of the robe.
"Oh my god, Emma.. have they found him??!"
"Not so much him, but something of his." Emma answered. "They found his scarf."
"Oh my god.." Regina whispered, lowering herself to the sofa. "Emma.. do you think something happened to him?? I mean.. after all, why would the Boston PD be involved??"

Thinking for a moment, Emma replied "Honestly? No. I think he's ok. From all the info you've given me about Henry, it is very well possible that Henry was taken to a new location, presumably in the city, and he left his scarf behind as a clue."
Regina's eyes went wide.
"Of course, it could also mean that he was moved and the abductor was careless leaving it behind.. but I think thats doubtful."
Regina took a deep breath, "Ok. This is good.. this is good, right?"
"I think it is Regina." Emma replied. "I'm going to get dressed and head down to where the police found the scarf. A few officers from StoryBrooke are also there for oversight, since the missing persons case originated here. Do you want to come?"
"Of course I do," Regina replied standing up, "What sort of question is that, Ms. Swan?"

"Perfect," Emma replied grabbing her keys from the coffee table next to them, tossing them to Regina, "Start the car. I'm gonna throw on something decent and meet you outside in 5 minutes, ok?"

When the two women pulled up to the scene, they were greeted by the colorful flashing lights of police vehicles. The boarded up abandoned warehouse was surrounded by thick, yellow crime scene tape as several officers surveyed the area.
Emma approached a tall man in a police uniform, introducing herself as she showed her credentials to him.
"Good morning Detective," Emma began, "I received a tip from one of the crew here moments ago about a scarf that may have been left behind by the missing child."
The tall man dressed in blue cleared his throat, "Yes, that's correct. Detective.. Swan, is it?"
Before the blonde could answer, Regina inserted herself into the conversation.
"...And I'm the mother of the missing child." Regina scowled, "Do you remember me, Officer Weismann?? We've met previously when you told me at the station last week that it was too soon to report a missing child, yet here we are, Detective."
Emma knitted her brow together in horror at the way Regina addressed him.
"Ma'am, with all due respect.." The policeman said, holding out his hands to try to calm her down.
"Oh, now you want to be respectful??! Now, you want to play the good guy here? We could have found my son days ago if you had listened to me!" Regina screamed, her face now inches from the man's face. The officer took a step back, placing his right hand on the hilt of the gun that rested by his hip.
Emma quickly pulled Regina away, excusing them from the scene.

"Regina! Get ahold of yourself!" Emma pleaded, "This is no time to have a dick measuring contest with the police!"
Moving in toward Emma, Regina sternly replied, "Ms. Swan, need I remind you that man is the reason I ever contacted you in the first place?!"
Regina's confession sent cold chills down Emma's back. She stood there, her face hardening while Regina continued, "If it weren't for the fact that this shitty fucking town had such a shitty fucking Police Force, I wouldn't have ever needed you Emma! But of course I was left to take matters into my own hands in order to get anything done around here!!"

In a gasp of exasperation, Regina turned away from Emma, arms folded into her chest as she bit back salty tears.

After a few seconds, Regina took her breath in, realizing the weight of her words.

"Emma, please don't get the wrong idea.."
But it was too late. When Regina turned back to face Emma, she was no longer standing there.
In a panic, Regina's eyes went wide as she quickly scanned the area for Emma. Finally, her hazel eyes found what she'd been searching for. Pulling herself together, Regina made her way back over to the crime scene where she found Emma talking to another female officer.
Upon further inspection, Regina noticed Emma was standing pretty close to the female officer. Almost... too close. They spoke with jittered laughter between words.
What's so funny? Regina thought to herself.
As she approached them, Emma and the woman knelt down to the ground, examining something together. A piece of cloth..

It must be Henry's scarf!
Regina said to herself.

Standing behind them now, Regina cleared her throat, grabbing their attention.
Forcing a Smile, she addressed the officer "Yes, hello there. I am Regina Mills, Henry's mother? I don't believe we've been properly introduced... Detective..?"

"It's Captain," the woman corrected her, "Captain Hua."

"Oh!" Regina replied, staring down at her.
As the woman stood, Regina closely examined her.
She was beautiful.
Her hair, chestnut brown, was perfectly curled in, framing her delicate face.
She stood tall, proud, strong. Her overall appearance was nothing less than striking. "My apologies, Captain.."

"Regina," Emma cut in, now also standing, "Captain Hua was just giving me the details of the scene. This is the scarf they found this morning.. do you recognize it?"
Regina glanced at the plastic specimen baggy the Captain held up.
"Yes, of course I do. That's Henry's scarf.. he never leaves home without it."
"Never?" Captain Hua asked.
"No. Never." Regina confirmed. "In fact, we've had to turn back on errand runs in the middle of July for it. He's had that scarf since he was just five years old. It's almost a type of security
blanket for him."
Emma shared glances with the Captain.
"Thank you, Ms Mills" Captain Hua replied, "This tells us a lot."
"Oh, it's Doctor Mills.." Regina corrected her snidely, "I didn't go through 10 years of higher education, spending a quarter of a million dollars on a PHD that doesn't get recognized, you know."
Emma rolled her eyes.
"Of course not, Doctor Mills." The Captain replied.
"So what does my son's scarf tell you anyway?"
"Well," Captain Hua began, "It tells us that Henry went willingly."
"Excuse me?? What exactly does that mean?!" Regina demanded, now sounding once again defensive.
"It means, he either ran away, or, he went willingly with his obductor. If your son takes this scarf everywhere he goes, then this means he made sure he had it with him when he left. Which tells us he wasn't briskly kidnapped from his home."
Regina looked as though she'd been sucker punched in her gut.
"No. I refuse to believe that. Not my Henry.."
"Regina," Emma began, "They havnt ruled everything out completely. They have to run DNA testing on the scarf, and continue clearing the area of any clues.. amongst other things."
Regina just starred off into the distance as she tried to wrap her head around the fact that her son may have chosen to leave.
Regina watched as a few detectives worked tirelessly at the scene around her, searching every inch of the area for clues.

"Captain-"
"Emma, you don't need to call me that, c'mon, you know that."
Emma cleared her throat, "Ok. Mulan, do you think it's possible that someone Henry knew took him? Perhaps a family friend or family member? Someone he trusted?"
Mulan thought a moment then replied, "I mean, it's not impossible.."
"Ok," Emma continued, "Then maybe Henry didn't know he was being kidnapped. Maybe he didn't fully realize he was being taken. If someone he knew and trusted took him, he might've thought he was being taken on an errand or something.. which could explain why he'd have his scarf?!"
"Well, yes. That would indeed make sense." Mulan agreed.
They both watched Regina, her face now appearing empty, void of emotion.

"Alright," Emma replied, "I think we should be going. Thank you, Mulan, for contacting me about this. It's been a tremendous help. How did you know to reach me?"
"Of course. When I pulled the files from your Deputy's desk, they had you listed as a contact in the case."
"Right, of course.. well, thank you."
Hey, Em.." Mulan started, grabbing Emma's arm softly, "Listen, don't be a stranger ok?"
"Oh, uh yea, sure." Emma replied nervously.
"I mean it, call me sometime. I uh, I miss you." Mulan winked.
"Yea.." Emma said, unsure if Regina noticed, "I miss you too."

Regina was seething inside. She heard every word.

*****

That night, Emma found herself driving down a familiar street. Her thoughts invading her.
Why did Regina freak out on me today? I've only been trying to help her... We've gotten so close.. and then this? I thought things would be different this time.. I'm a fool. A fucking fool.
Finally, she pulled up to what made the  street so familiar to her. Emma collected herself and stepped out of the car.
Angrily, she slammed the door shut, and walked up the Stoney drive to a house she hadn't been to in years.
But Before Emma could ring the bell, the door flung open.
"Hey."
"I didn't think you'd come."
"Well, I'm here aren't I?"
Emma pushed her way through the door, both women began tearing at their clothes, fabric falling to the floor.

Hungrily, Mulan grabbed Emma by the neck and waist, pressing her against the wall, her back hitting against the cold plaster hard. In an instant, she felt hot electric heat shoot through her shoulder blade, sparking memories of her injury.
Emma gasped.
Pausing for a moment, Mulan asked, "Are you alright? I don't remember you bruising so easily.."
"Shut up, I'm fine. I like the pain, remember?" Emma reassured her.
"...I most certainly do." Mulan remembered.
"Good. Now give me what I came here for."
Mulan hesitated, "You sure you're ok Em? Do you want to talk?"
"I didn't come here to talk, Mulan."
Mulan quickly grabbed Emma by her hips with both hands, lifting her so that Emma could wrap her thighs around the captain's waist.
Hastily, Mulan brought Emma to her bed. throwing her down on her back, Captain Hua hungrily kissed and licked at Emma chest, stomach and hips. As Emma inched herself up further onto the bed, Mulan pulled and ripped at Emma's remaining clothes, popping the button of her jeans clear off, tearing at the zipper.

Like a sudden rush, Emma could feel herself begin to swell. Her pulse throbbed between her thighs. Memories rushed through her like a tornado. Emma remembered her days at the academy before she joined the force. All the men trainees flirted with her and Mulan daily.. little did they know the two women made eachother scream between the sheets on a regular basis.
For a moment, Mulan noticed that Emma seemed a little distant, she asked "You sure you're ok? Is it that Regina woman? Do you want me to stop?"
"No." Emma replied, staring her in the face, "I want you to fuck me so I can forget."
Mulan stood at the foot of the bed, facing the blonde. She removed her black dress, revealing bright red lingerie that laced in ways that made Emma's head spin.

Mulan climbed back onto Emma, pressing her muscular body against her. Mulan dug her nails into Emma's hips as she bit down on her neck.

Honestly, Emma had certainly picked up a few things from the Captain while they spent time together at the academy. Mulan taught her that pain could also bring pleasure. Something Regina had tried to show her, but never really could. Emma chalked it up to the fact that she was never in love with Mulan. Best friends? Perhaps. Soulmates? No. The sex had always been amazing, but that's where it stopped.

Emma let out a pleasurable scream and felt herself drip wet into her underwear. As the brown tumbling waves of hair that caressed Mulan's face fell, Emma moved it aside so the Captain could work her lips between Emma's thighs. Mulan pressed her tongue firmly against Emma's clit, flicking and sucking at it as her mouth became wet with Emma's release.
Swallowing and wiping her mouth with the back of her hand, she asked "So, You want me to make you forget?"
"Fuck yes.."
Propping herself up, her knees against the mattress of the bed, Mulan reached into the drawer of her nightstand. Removing some items from the drawer, Emma asked "What's that?"
Mulan just smiled, "Don't worry about it. After tonight, this is all you will remember Emma."
In one fluid motion, Mulan slipped on the strap-on she retrieved from her dresser.
Surprised, Emma looked down at the thick five and a half inches that protruded from Mulan's muscle toned thighs. She tingled with anticipation.

Slowly, Mulan mounted the detective, her long honey brown hair fell to the side of her face as she lowered herself onto Emma. The blonde slowly spread her thighs wide, giving Mulan the access she needed. Suddenly, Mulan felt herself push into Emma, and her own clit swelled with pleasure.
"Fuck Emma.. you're always so fucking tight!" Mulan had to pause a moment. The friction of the dildo struggling to slide into Emma turned Mulan on greatly. If she moved one more inch she knew she would instantly make herself come.
However, Emma, welcoming the pain, tried to pull her in deeper with her thighs and Mulan knew it was too late. There between Emma's thighs, she exploded. She let out a howl that damn near rattled the walls!
Mulan felt herself release, her warm silky liquid rolled down the sides of the dildo as she continued to press it into Emma. Now thrusting in and out repeatedly.
"Oh god, Mulan.." Emma cried out. She could feel the dildo slide suddenly more easily into herself now, as their fluids mixed. She knew Mulan came, and she loved it. The absolute pleasure wiping away any thoughts that previously ran through her mind. "I can fucking feel you inside me Mulan.. please.. please, harder.. I want to feel you inside me!"
Their panting grew harder, wetter. Beads of sweat rolled down their skin as they fucked.
Suddenly, Mulan pulled out, "Turn around, Emma, now!"
Emma did as she was told. Now on all fours, Mulan grabbed hold of Emma's hips, spreading her thighs. Guiding the strap-on with her fingertips, she slid it back into Emma's wet, swollen flesh.
Emma pressed her hands against the wall of the headboard to prevent her head from hitting it as Mulan thrusted inside of her, harder and harder still.
"Mulan, I'm gonna fucking come!"
All at once, Mulan felt Emma come hard. So much so, she had to work harder to keep herself inside of Emma, as her contractions worked hard to push her out.
Finally, Emma's body relaxed and began to slump, as the wet dildo slid out of her.
Together, they lay in a sweaty heap, until they fell asleep.
