An Eventful Dinner...
Michael and Lucifer had the time to watch three episodes before they needed to go down to eat in some fancy restaurant. It was actually Charlie who reminded them of it and drove them. It was only Lucifer's close family, no distant relatives or friends, so they were only thirteen, including Michael.
"So Michael, here is my huge ass family," Lucifer said, earning glares from everyone. "These are my parents, Chuck and- Becky, I think, there's Balthazar, Raphael, Hannah, Samandriel but we call him Alfie for some reason, Castiel with his boyfriend Dean and Gabriel with Sam, who you already know are gonna marry each other in less than a week." Lucifer cringed slightly as Sam's name, only noticed by Michael because Michael noticed that kind of stuff.
Raphael and Hannah didn't look so pleased by Lucifer's appearance at the dinner. Obviously, they didn't like Lucifer and were half-offended that Gabriel invited him even after he ran away from home.
"Come on, take a seat," Chuck said, gesturing to the three of them. "How long's it been since we had everyone like that?"
"Eight years," Raphael almost spat. He was still glaring at Lucifer, and everyone seemed a bit tense.
They sat, Michael taking Lucifer's hand to calm him down, stroking small circles with his thumb to calm him down.
"It's been so long, Lucifer why did you leave?" Castiel asked in a truly sad voice. He had been the most affected by his brother's departure. They had been really close.
Lucifer let out a trembling sigh, deciding to tell the truth. They definitely had all the rights to hear it, even it they wouldn't like it. "I wasn't happy. Naomi had learned that I liked boys and she was beating me up for it whenever we were alone. Then, the day I was gonna go away, I learn Naomi had left. I still left. I felt like I couldn't live there anymore, it just made me scared and sad."
Everyone nodded, now understanding why Lucifer had been so closed up, almost aggressive and why he had left.
Everyone except Raphael, who snorted at him. "She was right to do it. Homosexuality is a sin," he spat.
"Oh, I'm sorry," Gabriel chimed in, obviously angry at his brother. "If you haven't noticed, I'm marrying a man who I've known for three whole years. Michael and Lucifer are in a relationship and so are Castiel and Dean. Heck, even Charlie is in couple with a girl! So I don't care if you don't like this, why did you even come here?"
On that, Raphael stormed out, his chair falling behind him when he stood up in a jolt.
You could almost see the tension falling down after Raphael left, Gabriel's intervention helping for a lot too. Hanah also stopped glaring at Lucifer, now understanding why he left.
The waiter came and they ordered, forcing them to drop the uncomfortable subject.
"So, what did you do after... well after you left?" Samandriel asked, childish curiosity in his eyes.
"Went right to New Jersey, found this nice job at a local cafe..." Lucifer trailed off, glancing at Sam who looked just as awkward. "Then I met Michael, and that's it. Not really adventuring, I had managed to save quite a lot of money."
All of them nodded, Michael giving an encouraging smile to Lucifer. Lucifer realized that it wasn't so hard, after all. They didn't even had to act all that much, no kissing, just lying. Well, for now. Refusing to think of it, Lucifer struck a conversation. He was really surprised at how good he fitted in, almost as if he never left at all.
The waiter came back and they dug into their food, different conversations growing around the table.
Then, the fatal question came from Chuck: "So, how did you two met?" Everyone stopped talking, curious to know the answer.
Lucifer froze, while Michael quickly thought of something. "He was working at the cafe when I moved into town. I applied there, got the job, we worked the same shifts so we became closer and ended up falling in love." It was true really, except the part where they actually got together. Michael heard Lucifer let out a relieved sigh, probably surprised it was that easy too.
Dean and Castiel chuckled, looking at each other. "We fell in love at a coffee shop too," Dean said. "Neither us us were working there, but still."
The rest of the dinner went smoothly except for Sam and Lucifer, who kept sending tense glances at each other. It was filled with small talks, all animosity forgotten with Lucifer and questions about him and Michael. It was always Michael who answered those questions, Lucifer panicking when une was directed at him. When the bill was paid, Charlie drove them back at the hotel. As they arrived, she pulled Michael apart.
"So what was going on between Sam and Luci?" she asked and Michael sighed, trying to find the right words. Lucifer wouldn't be happy he told her.
"Imagine if your brother was marrying the guy you've fucked for a total of five years."
"They were... oh."
"Yeah, don't tell him I told you that."
On that, Michael went to his room. To his and Lucifer's room. He walked there and Lucifer was already laying on his side, eyes closed. After putting his pyjamas on Michael joined him, getting on the opposite side as Lucifer. It was kind of awkward, sharing a bed with the one guy who made you sexually confused, but Michael definitely didn't hate it. Maybe it could become normal for them, in the bast case scenario.
Heeyyyyyy! New chapitre! I had to force myself to write the dinner somewhat detailed, otherwise I would've just written 'the dinner went smoothly' or something like that.
Anyway, shorter chapitre, I'm trying to figure what the hell happens next so the next one might take more time to write, sorry in advance.
