Since she didn't have a cell phone, and she didn't want to bother her mother at work, plus, she didn't have the school's number, she ran to Casey's apartment and knocked as hard as she could on the door. His father answered it, looking angry, but then he smiled when he said who it is.

"Casey! Your friend is here!" He said. Casey walked to the door, hold in her sister's hand. "Casey!!" She yelped, "Why do you have my sister with you? I thought she was lost because she wasn't on the bus!"

Casey answered, "I'm sorry. I was walking to the park and I saw that your sister by herself. She said that she had missed the bus. I thought I would help her get home. And then when I went to your apartment, you weren't there, so I brought her here. Was that a problem?" Eliza sucked in a breath."No. It's fine. Tha ks for helping. Next time tell me, I'm probably at the bus stop if I am not on the apartment, or leave a note."

"Ok, I will. I'm sorry if I caused any trouble. See you tomorrow at school." Casey said. Eliza just nodded and then said,"Come on Sadie. Let's go home. Your brother is waiting for us."

That night, after her siblings went to bed and her mother was home, she cuddled up in her covers, wearing tweety bird pajamas and thought about the day's events.

If this is how every day is going to be, I'm not going to make it to high school.
