(R/n) - Random Name
..~*~..
Crystals clinking in the crowded room and chatters resounding against the imperial walls, (f/n) tried her best to remain impassive and unseen in the sea of people. She tugged at the woven silk of her dress uncomfortably, eyes observing around the room she was in. Nobles and many people is what she can see - dressed with their elegant dresses and luxurious dress shirt, dancing as if it was destined for them to do so. In every corner of the ballroom, she can see nobles chattering and whispering with their friends, each one of them has a glass of sake in their hands.
Today is where they will celebrate Ryouma's wedding with the beautiful woman he has met during the war. The lady he has wedded is (f/n)'s closest friend, (r/n). She has this beautiful auburn hair that goes near her waist, and green eyes which resembles (f/n) a cat which really defines her mischievous personality. Maybe that's why Ryouma fell in love with her, despite both of them not going along very well these past few months after the war.
Still tugging at the dress she wore, (f/n) grumbled, unaware of those green orbs looking at her. "I knew from the very start that I shouldn't have come," Still grumbling under her breath, she turned around to leave the reception when she came to the point where her head bashed softly with another individual. Reeling back from the impact, she gasped and quickly took the glass of sake enveloped in the air - surprisingly, no liquid was spilled over but she was worried at the person she bumped with. "I-I'm sorry! I apologize for-!" At that exact moment, when her eyes landed with a pair of amused green eyes, her mouth dropped open - speechless.
"Hello? (F/n), you there?" The newly wed auburn haired waved a hand on her face, (f/n) quickly shook away her trance and observed her - head to toe. Her friend giggled, but did not say anything as (f/n) continued to look at her - then her eyes went back to her green ones, eyes widening more if that's even possible. (R/n) grinned, giving a twirl of her dress. "So, you love it?"
"You have got to be kidding me." (F/n) facepalmed at her friend's lady-like yet childish behavior. She sighed, then gave her a constraint nod in admit before deadpanning. "That is your response for me after ignoring me for the past oh-so few weeks? Seriously, (r/n)."
"Hey, hey, come on now!" She held up her hands and sweat dropped. "I'm pretty busy these few weeks you know? Don't be disappointed! I still love you!"
(F/n) raised a brow at her. Honestly, she's such a bad liar. Over the past few weeks, whenever she has some spare time on her own, she always practically see her friend scampering a lot, either playing a prank on her now-husband or just lazing around, having her little fun. But, she'll let it slide for now.
(F/n) sighed. Sometimes, she kept on wondering how in the world did she manage to be friends with her. It is beyond confusing to a swordsman like her.
(F/n) watched her friend for a moment. Where (r/n) acts as a lady who spends her time having fun or keeps everyone in company, there is her, (f/n). Same old (f/n) whom everyone knows. She, who refuses to have a break for herself. That's her. A swordsman-- not a lady-in-waiting. She has no time for that, no sir. Yes, (r/n) may be her best friend, her most trusted companion over the years they've spent, and will be her queen sooner or later- heck, she's even allowed to have a nice chat with her and her now-husband! It's a dream come true for everyone. But for (f/n), her only dream is to serve Hoshido and protect her fellowmen. Not those life her friend is seeing.
Shaking her head, she crossed her arms - still having that deadpan look. "If your highness heard this, he'll definitely throw a fit. Considering the fact that you're his wife."
She rolled her eyes - she took the sake from (f/n) and took a sip. She countered, "Puh-lease. I still have my family and friends to love. He's not the only one who can take this away from me."
Twitching, a giggle left from her mouth, (f/n) clamped her lips in a coy manner; she missed having this conversations with (r/n). Ever since they were young, they have been very close and inseparable even how many trials and hardships they've come across. They're like twins, sharing the same unsavory secrets of whom nobody knows.
Sipping the last remaining liquid from the glass, (r/n) flipped some of her auburn hair away from her face. "Well, I'll be going now, (f/n). Ryouma must be worried about me. Maybe some other time I guess?" She offered, eyes gleaming in hope. (F/n) smiled at her whilst still tugging the hems of her dress.
"Of course. Congrats by the way. Oh, and kindly pass the greeting for his highness." She said. (R/n) nodded, giving a brief farewell before turning around to walk away from the (h/c) haired woman - her petite form vanishing from the crowd. (F/n) sighed, tucking the loose hair behind her ear, before resolving to find the balcony.
After bumping and excusing, (f/n) finally approached her destination; only to stop midway upon seeing the ivory haired prince leaning against the rails. He has a very weird aura radiating him as he dazed at the full moon above - hair swishing with the wind. Cheeks burning, (f/n) strode after the ivory haired prince and patted his shoulder. "Hey-" she was cut off when Kamui turned around and gripped her wrist. She reeled at the contact and tried to yank her hand away but to no avail. His eyes are hooded with a haze of unknown emotion which made (f/n) uncomfortable. He leaned in, forehead touching hers; her eyes widened, unable to look away from his enticing, deep red eyes. They seem to cage her from within, trying to lure her for all their worth, and (f/n) was sure this would not end up so great as she wanted to.
"It's nice to see you, (f/n)." He slurred, eyes half-lidded. Her heart froze for a moment before letting out a huge skip of beat, the heat crawling her cheeks. Kamui released her wrist when he gave a short hiccup. (F/n) quickly snapped away from her trance and looked at Kamui worriedly, she just realized that his breath smelled weird - not the sake but something intoxicating and he seems to have taken an abundant supply of it.
"Your highness, you're drunk-!" She shrilled in horror and quickly, she caught the prince when he suddenly fainted. She watches his peaceful face for a moment before her eyes frantically searched on the sea of people for someone who can help her. At this point, she would've yelled for everyone's attention but she also doesn't want to ruin her best friend's celebration either so she never made a ruckus of Kamui being fainted in her arms. Panicky eyes still searching, her eyes glided to Tsubaki just as he stepped away from the two women.
"Tsubaki-kun!"
The said male looked at her, eyes confused - but changed when his eyes glided to his prince. Quickly, he ran at the two and knelt down.
"What happened?" He asks, voice frantic as he snaked Kamui's other arm around his neck while the other to (f/n)'s. They stood up and quickly scurried away from the ballroom, earning a lot of attention. If Kamui isn't unconscious right now, he'll definitely be flustered at the attention he's having. (F/n) shook her head.
"I think Kamui drank an intoxicated drink." At that, Tsubaki sighed,
"I knew I shouldn't have gave in."
..~*~..
Don't know much about Tsubaki. His specialty etc. so I apologize. :33
