Protolog
'Alright, so I have my clothes, my blanket, my pillow, Miss Monkey, my swimsuit, and a towel. I'm ready to go!' My thoughts were, looking over the spoken items as I close up my Zebra striped bag full of clothes.
I race downstairs as careful as I could down the steep steps and opened the low gate, which is there to prevent our dog from leaving the house, and ran out of the house.
Exiting the house onto the warm pavement, I rounded the corner of the garage and approached the grey Chevy Tahoe.
I walked up to the trunk where dad was loading the food, supplies, and bags into. Setting my stuff down nearby, I hopped into the right backseat and buckled up.
After a few minutes of rearranging things, we set off.
During the five hour trip, we took breaks to get gas, snacks, and drinks for when we're on the road. I fell asleep multiple times during the ride. I'm not a fan of long distant trips.
I woke up once more to see we reached the bottom of a mountain, at which we were camping at, and I watched the trees pass.
As we climbed the mountain, I saw a herd of deer.
We reached the campsite and I saw a sign saying, "Welcome to Mt. Ebott's Campsite!" in fancy lettering. It took a bit to actually find where we sign in. We got our campsite number and set off to find it.
It ended up being and the far side of the camp, so of course it took a while to find it. We approached campsite 185 and pulled in. I hopped out of the vehicle after it stopped and parked and roamed around the site.
The fire pit was somewhat center of the site and forestry surrounded the space we occupied. We ended up being alone in this part of camp and we have a bathroom nearby luckily.
"Hey mom? I'm gonna go explore around the site, okay?" I called out to my mom.
"Alright." She called back.
I strolled out of the clear land of our site into the thicket of trees as I retold myself the rules I taught myself.
'Don't go to far out of sight. Make sure you are within shouting range. Make sure you know your way back. Don't go out for too long.'
I strolled around for a bit, circling the site a bit as I explored, and found a bush covered in blue things. On close inspection, I found out the blue things were berries. I picked a few, but didn't eat them, to bring back to camp and see if their edible.
Running back, I entered back onto the campus to see the tents are up and my parents are starting a fire.
"Was I gone for that long?" I thought aloud. "Anyways, I found some berries, do you think their edible?"
"Uh, duh, of course they are, they're Blueberries!" Mom exclaimed, pointing at the berries in my hands.
"Oh." I mumbled, looking them over more carefully. "Oh! They are! How did I-?" I cut myself off and ran to get something to carry the berries.
I found a bucket and grabbed it, racing back out into the woods to pick more. Placing the already picked berries into the bucket, I picked some more until the bucket was half full.
When I reached out to grab some more berries, a growl was heard behind me. Freezing over, I slowly looked behind me, fearing the worst. Unfortunately, It was worse. A mother brown bear and her cubs.
Frozen, I stood watching the bears every movements. Suddenly, the bear started running at me. Not knowing what to do, I ducked right and ran, and ran, and ran.
The bear continued to run, but she crashed into the berry bush before realizing I ran off. Turning, the mother bear chased me until it decided I was far enough.
By then, I had no idea where in the world I was. But, I had to rest.
Putting the bucket down as carefully as I could in my tired state, I dropped, cutting circulation to my left arm. I closed my eyes and quickly fell asleep.
Waking up, I found myself on my back, and no memory of what just happened.
'Blueberries, bucket, bear-BEAR!' Sitting up quickly, I frantically looked around, but there was nothing but trees and brush. Spotting the bucket, I looked inside to see that none of the berries are gone.
"Huh. What luck. Now, time to head back to camp. But first," I looked around, "where am I?"
Standing up, I looked around to see if anything looked familiar. I couldn't find anything remotely familiar, so, I started to shout.
"Hello? Hello! Anyone there!?" I shouted. But, no answer.
I sighed and picked up the bucket, which is lighter than it seems, and set off in a random direction. It was starting to get dark already, so I had to hurry.
Strolling at a quick pace, I looked around for a place to spend the night, figuring I'd probably not make it back to camp by night.
I found a cave, so I slowly entered and looked around to the best of my ability. Not finding any signs of any animals, I declared them safe to sleep in for the night.
Entering at a quicker pace, I prepared to set my bucket down and head to bed, but, I tripped. I was expecting to hit the rocky ground but, I continued to fall.
I started to scream as I fell and let go of my bucket.
I hit something hard, and... sharp. Rolling to the left, I hit something soft. I couldn't think any clearer, as it became more and more blurry, I lost my consciousness, a faint thump nearby.
Whooo boy. Finished this in two days, and I am very proud of this. I'm probably just going to update this even if no one likes this. HA!
