" Anna! Anna!" My mom called from the kitchen in a high pitched voice." Time to get ready your first day of high school." " oh great" I thought as a rolled out of bed and reluctantly walked down the stairs to eat. My mom greeted me at the table with an upbeat smile and a stack of pancakes. I should have been ecstatic. We rarely have pancakes in our house and when we do it's always those whole weat ones. But instead I just smiled.

After my mom dropped me off at school I wandered mindlessly around the halls trying to find my home room. As I was wandering the halls I was greeted by many new faces in the hallway. Some of which I hoped I would get to meet some day. But you know what they say: Hope breeds eternal misery. Once I finally found my home room my teacher passed out our schedules and told us to take a seat and read our novels for the rest of the period. So I took a seat near the back of the room closest to the window. As I was pulling out my book I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around in my seat and was met with the face of a cute blonde boy. He smiled at me. " Hey! What are you reading?"" The girl who played with fire by Stieg Larson" I replied. " oh! I love that book! Did you read the first book: the girl with the dragon tattoo?"The blonde boy exclaimed." Actually I didn't read the first one." "what?!" He practically yelled." How could you read the sequel but not the first book?" " I never read the first one there is more mystery and excitement if you read the sequel first"I said.The Boy didn't say anything he just looked back at me smiling."I'm Anna by the way." I said suddenly feeling myself blush at the way he was staring at me." Oh" he said snapping out of his daze"I'm Kris Andrew." Just as I was about to start a new conversation the bell rang and I put my book back in my bag giving kris a smile as I walked out of the class.
