Part 1: Saying Goodbye

I stood there at the front of the funeral area looking into his coffin his dirty blonde hair tousled in the way it always was his hands folded over his chest but his eyes. Oh his eyes they were dull no longer the brilliant blue they once were. They used to sparkle when he laughed and gleamed mischievously when he teased me. I stood there tears streaming down my face breath ragged and catching in my throat. I thought back to just yesterday.

"Ari, you know you're the best person I've met!" Zaden said looking at me with a smile.

I felt my heart flutter and I smiled at him back. "That's not true Zade I'd have to be perfect and lord knows I'm anything but."

Zaden looked at me with a slight frown and he reached out and brushed a strand of hair behind my ear his touch lingering briefly on my cheek.  "I don't care to me you're perfect."

I blushed and looked away and we spent the day laughing and joking. We are food together, explored our favorite spots at the mall and went swimming.

This morning I had received word that he was hit by a car on the way home from our meetup and it killed me. I headed home immediately after the funeral and sit myself in my room not eating or drinking.   Zade. I thought. I can't do this without you...
