Chapter 3: Betrayal for Dreams

Klyamone's craving for the land grew stronger.
   No longer could she stay in the sea, just dreaming of going there. Yes, she was immortal but hardly would there be a chance to visit in her infinite years of life.
   But one thought can be very powerful when it comes to making decisions. One opposing thought, and your plan is delayed by hesitance.
   Her father and sisters came into mind. If she went on land, she might fall in love with it and betray her Elemental Faction. She would roam among the humans, and she might be punished for her betrayal.
   Although that is so, her heart longed to visit land. Perhaps it was a chance to make peace among the gods. To make amends for the confusion that had separated them. Perhaps she could at least form an alliance between the Water gods and the Earth gods.
   She looked at her bedroom, a portion of the place she had called home. On her silken bed laid simple clothing, clothing worn by mortals. A hooded robe, a plain white dress and a pair of sandles has been laid out before her.
   She put them on, and slung a sack with some needs. A magic writing tablet, a knife, some food and godly medicine jumbled in the sack.
   Klyamone was ready to leave. She was ready to chase her dreams.
   "I'm sorry, Father. But I have to do this."

~~~
A small beach tucked away under a cliff was empty, deserted, silent. Moonlight shone on the waves, making it look like liquid silver. Waves rolled onto the beach, blanketing the sand and receding back into the sea.
   The water rippled, and out from the waves waded a very human-looking Klyamone, donning a brown hooded cloak. The moment she stepped onto the beach, she collapsed in exhaustion.
   Finally, she made it. Her dream has become reality, and it's only the beginning.
