Chapter Twenty Seven: I Feel So Used
Percy Jackson
You know, my life would be a lot easier if I had my license.
Or a wallet.
Who knows, maybe I so have my license but I don't have my wallet to know if I have it or not so it's usefulness is null and void there.
I haven't learned a lot, but there's a few things so far.
Right now, I'm in California, in a city called San Francisco and it's big and makes no sense. I'm a teenager but on the older side of being a teenager because most adults think I'm still a kid that should be in school but kids and younger teens assume I'm an adult.
Shelters are very nice. It's only been a couple days, but I've stayed at different shelters each night and they've given me food for free and a cot, which is very kind of them. They don't ask a lot of questions.
I do know that I'm gay because I know that I have a boyfriend. I don't remember much about him, I can't imagine a name or a place or anything, but I'm wearing a ring that I'm sure came from him. It was black, but it had a blue heart etched into it.
Sadly, there was no name or date on it for me to like, refer to. It was one of the first things I looked at when I realized that I didn't have my wallet.
Why don't i have my wallet, though? I have a few golden coins in my pocket and $23.70, but no wallet.
Maybe I was drunk.
Am I old enough to drink? I don't know.
Walking into a new shelter in hopes of getting lunch, I almost left when I saw a kid crying with parents not taking proper care of the kid.
I don't know how to take care of kids, but yelling at a kid while they're crying doesn't feel right and that's what they were doing to their kid right now. The child was sitting next to an opened suitcase that was like, more than overflowing, but they had a stuffed bear and a pillowpet in their hands.
It took me a minute, but I figured out that this kid was upset because her parents would only let her carry one of the two items because there wasn't room for both. She had to give up one of them.
Satisfied with what I knew, I walked over to the line for food and grabbed some soup before sitting down. It was chicken noodle, which is the best soup, so I was happy.
I was half way through my bowl of soup when I felt a tap on my leg.
"S- sir," the girl stutterer out and I don't think she could be older than 5. Closer to 3, maybe 4. "What's your name?"
This is my least favorite question in the world, but I can't let her think that.
"My name?" I responded. "I don't have a name, so you can call me whatever you want, okay?"
"Can I call you blue?" She asked, probably because the shirt I was wearing had blue on it.
"You can call me blue."
"Okay, Blue," she goes on and extends her arms out to show me her panda pillow pet that she had been holding earlier. "Can you protect my panda? My mommy said that I can't take her with us and that she has to go to a new home and you are the only one here who was not sitting with a person so she can talk to you and be your friend. She's a really good friend, her name is Penny."
Am I about to take care of a pillow pet for a toddler?
The answer is yes, I am, because I'm a good person and it's important to her.
Or at least, I think I'm a good person? I want to be a good person.
"Of course I can protect Penny," I reassured the girl as she gave Penny a hug before handing her to me. "Thank you for trusting me to her, I'm sure we'll be really good friends."
She smiled.
"I have to leave with my mommy and daddy now," the little girl told me very suddenly and she started to walk towards the doors, where her parents stood. "Thank you, Blue! Penny says thank you!"
Smiling back to her, I waved goodbye and she was gone.
Looking back at Penny, I sighed, but I was already connected to it.
"I really hope you fit in my backpack."

Out of everyone I expected to tell me what my name was, I didn't think it would be a wolf that I, somehow, could understand.
Honestly figured it'd either be a doctor or like, a cop, if we're being honest.
But no, a wolf. Called me Perseus Jackson, and I asked if she can just call me Percy because Perseus is a little much, in my opinion. Percy's better.
Her name was Lupa, though, and somehow, someway, she said she was going to train me so that'll be interesting.
I'm not completely convinced that there weren't drugs in the food I had somehow, but when I woke up the next morning, I could still understand her and she was saying stuff along the same lines, so it's either a really long trip or I'm somehow able to understand and be trained in combat by a wolf.
Am I convinced that this would be any more normal with my memories? Not at all.
But I was here, training with a wolf named Lupa, and she provided me food and shelter for free, so long as I trained.
So I trained.

Reyna Ramírez-Arellano
By the end of March, Nico was here more often than he wasn't.
For nights, at least. He spent his days searching for his partner or training against monsters because he's still trying to conceal his Greek identity, so we just tell him where monsters have been spotted recently and he takes care of them, which has been helpful.
Jason is still missing.
Hazel's training was going well, though, and so was Frank's. He joined around the same time Hazel did in the fifth cohort, and he's a little shy, but he's coming around a little.
We finally, also, just now received official word of Olympus being shut down. So, of course, we had to call a senate meeting to announce it and call any nerves despite the fact that my nerves were anything but calm about the matter.
With the absense of Jason, Senate meetings have been weird. I'm the only praetor at the moment and it's kind of insane, so I asked Nico to step in Jason's place for me just because he's technically apart of the Senate as the Ambassador of Pluto and he knows a lot more about the matter than I do because this note is like 3 months late, so I'm sure things have happened since then that he's heard of, also being on whatever the Greek equivalent of the Senate is.
I don't know, he's gone back to New York around once a month just for a day or two for meetings and to talk to his partners mom.
The announcement that Olympus was closed caused a lot of confusion.
"How can they just... Why would they close Olympus?" Somebody asked and they didn't tell us why.
"Well we can't know for sure-" I began and Nico just cut me off.
"To keep it from falling," Nico wasn't sugar coating it, either. "They just finished a war they barely won against Kronos and, as far as I have understood, Krios as well? Kronos entered the throne room last August, and Olympus is once again under threat. They closed the gates so nobody can get in and as a consequence, nobody can get out."
"How come you know this?" Octavian reasonably questioned. "But Reyna wouldn't say?"
"How do I know?" Nico repeated and Octavian nodded his head.
"Yeah, how would you know about that?" Frank was innocent in asking, I'll give him that. "I've never even heard about the Kronos thing. But how can we know for sure that Olympus is threatened once again? We haven't received any word about it?"
And Nico and I share a look because he realizes that he's said a little bit too much, and that's bad.
"I know thanks to my father," Nico pulled that right out of his ass. "Seeing as Olympus hasn't been completely rebuilt, he has remained in the Underworld and upon reviving Hazel, he warned me of issues on Olympus. I wouldn't doubt that Jason's disappearance has something to do with the threat to Olympus, but I've asked my father and he doesn't know so he can't say. My communication was cut off from him even in February, though. As for the Kronos thing, I met some souls that dealt with it, I believe they were handpicked from the gods so they never arrived here. They were trained separately."
"Well if there's a threat, then has there been a new prophecy that you've heard of?" Octavian questioned.
And Nico, knowing that Delphi prophecies might give away his status, lied and said that he hasn't heard of any.
Because while not evertone could identify that the prophecy would be in Delphi's style, there's a few people that would and they would call him out on it during this meeting and then chaos would ensue.
And nothing about me doubts that Nico has the ability to win against most people here for some reason, so I don't want to deal with the numbers that would happen if he were exposed to be Greek.
He's small, but he's powerful.
And we get on his bad side, I'm not sure we'll ever see Jason again for some strange reason, so I want to keep him on my good side.
After all, I miss the blond superman, and I need him back here as soon as possible.
