______________

The sun hits my eyes and the first thing I think as my platform clicks in is, water. A river. Running through the clearing. It looks deep. And strong. And wide. It winds its way down into the trees. The rest of the clearing is surrounded in forest.

I look around at the other tributes and see that they are all eyeing the river as well. I spot percy. Next to him is Daisy. We all lock eyes and I gesture to the trees. Percy points to two packs near him. I nod. I spot a pack and a dagger near me as well. I look back at him an he nods. I point to a large tree and he gets the picture. The clock in the sky reaches zero. The gong sounds and I sprint for the pack. I see Georgiana kill the boy from 3 and then Ditty kill the girl from 7. I see crunch break the girl from nines neck and then I turn and find myself staring into the blue eyes of Soren. But instead of him killing me, he looks around and mouths at me, 'go'. Surprised for only a second, I grab the pack and some daggers and sprint for the trees where I was meeting Daisy and Percy.

Daisy is waiting in the shade, white faced. There is no sign of Percy.

"Where is he?"

She points back out to the cornucopia and I see him, fighting Ditty. Juliet comes up behind him, holding a knife and aiming at his stomach. Without realizing what I'm doing, I run back out and throw a dagger at her. It skims past her nose and she turns away to find the thrower. She sees me and smiles evilly. She looks away from me and scans the rest of the bloodbath. She spots what she's looking for I follow her gaze and see Harriet trying to scavenge all she can from the things. Juliet looks at me one more time, sees that I've seen her and throws her knife. It hits Harriet's chest and she kneels over, coughing up blood. Then she falls, lifeless.

I hear myself scream and see Juliet go to collect her knife. Daisy runs out and pulls me back into the trees. She clamps her hand over my mouth and I realize that I'm still screaming. I close my mouth. Suddenly, Bonnie emerges out of the trees, holding a bow, a sheath of arrows and a backpack.

"No more splitting up." I say.

"Agreed."

I turn my gaze to Percy, who is still fighting Ditty. Juliet is occupied in a battle with the remaining boy from 9, so it's just them. Percy spins and manages to have his sword against her neck for almost a second before she shifts her wight and twists around, pinning him to the ground. He struggles around a bit so she knocks his head against the ground, knocking him unconscious. She takes his sword and runs her blade along his forehead. Then she cuts his arm and stands up. Instead of finishing him off, she looks around and sees that Juliet has just killed her fighting partner and the other 4 careers are leaning against the cornucopia. A whole bunch of booms go off, signalling the end of the bloodbath but I can't count them all, so I can't be sure whether or not Percy is dead. He was losing blood but Ditty doesn't do anything more to him. Instead, she stands up and walks over to the other 4 careers like Juliet. The start talking, gather up all the remaining packs and things and put them in a pile by the cornucopia. Then, they talk again and Soren puts his hand up. They all nod and Crunch throws him a weapon. Then, all of them except Soren run off with their weapons. Going tribute hunting, I think. And Soren was guarding the food.

Bonnie looks at me.

"What are we going to do. We need to go in there and get Percy. Look, he's still breathing. He's not dead, but will be when the hovercraft comes and takes all the bodies." She says.

I look out at Percy. She was right, he was still breathing. I kneel down and grab a stick, drawing a plan in the mud.

"Ok. This is where we are, this is Percy and this is Soren. I say, you distract Soren to look over here and I run in quietly and grab Percy. When I've got him safely out, daisy can let out a whistle. Got it?"

She nods and looks at me. "Be careful, ok?"

"I will. Daisy, you stay here and watch the packs. If anything goes wrong, grab yours and run away."

She stares up at me with her large, puppy like eyes.

"But nothing will go wrong, right?"

I sigh.

"Hopefully not."

With that, Bonnie runs off into the forest. I watch and wait for my signal. I hear the slight thunk of an arrow hitting the ground beside Soren. He looks at it, stands up and looks around. Bonnie shoots another which lands on the ground beside him. He starts walking in the direction it came from. My cue.

I sprint in towards Percy and Soren doesn't hear me. I kneel by his side and check his chest. The faint, steady beat of his heart is still there and his mouth is open, blowing out soft breaths of air. I try to pick him up but he's too heavy. Daisy sprints out to help. I give her an angry look but don't say anything, because Soren might hear. She takes the legs and together we carry, slightly drag, him out of the clearing. I lay him down and Daisy lets out the four note signal that Rue told Katniss in the games. I look at her.

"I took over her job as the whistler after those games. Even when the jobs were all over I'd still whistle at sunset." She says, explaining.

Bonnie stops shooting her arrows but Soren keeps on walking through the trees. Not the smartest plan, I think. Luckily, at that very moment a cannon goes off and something falls from the pile of packs and things. He spins around and sees the red-headed girl from 10 run off into the trees, with a pack and a box of food. He abandons Bonnie and runs after the girl instead. Without saying a word, daisy sprints out and grabs four swords and another sheathe of arrows off the pile and sprints back. No one shouts at her or does anything, and she easily makes it back to me, slightly panting. Bonnie comes in and takes the extra sheathe from Daisy, then picks up her pack and gestures for us to do the same.

"We need to go farther away or else they'll find us. We can carry Percy a little way away until we're far from here then we can settle down and see what we can do about him."

I put my daggers in my pack and put it on my back and Daisy does the same, as well as putting on Percy's. Bonnie pulls Percy onto her back and we start walking.

~~

As we walk, we can hear shouts and the occasional scream and cannon boom from the careers tribute hunting. I just keep walking and hope they aren't coming this way.

Percy gradually stops bleeding and his breathing stays steady. Every now and then we rest for a bit and me and Daisy carry Percy.

Then the sun starts setting so we stop and find a cave where we lay down Percy and pull open out packs.

Each contain warm sleeping bags and full water bottles. Mine also contains a lighter and a ring of rope, Bonnie's has plenty of food and Daisy has a large selection of different weapons.

"No first aid kit." I say, sadly, glancing at Percy.

"Don't go all sad yet. We've still got his." Bonnie pulls over his pack and we open it to find yet another blanket and a bottle of water, as well as a large green bag. We pull it out and I undo the zipper. Yes! A first aid kit!

And not just any first aid kit. It contains two rolls of bandages and some band aids like usual ones, but it also contains four different jars, each clearly labeled and color co-ordinated. One has the words, 'instant heal' on the top, so I open it up and dab some on my fingers. I feel a slight burning sensation and I watch as it cleans my fingers and sinks into the many cuts from bush bashing. The cream goes white instead of clear and then disappears, leaving my fingers unnaturally clean and cut free. My eyes widen and I carefully dribble some onto percy's cuts. The same thing happens and leaves him just about normal, except for the fact he's still unconscious and still has a large bump on his head. But he's breathing and more steadily.

"Come on prim. Get some sleep. I'll take first watch and wake you when I'm tired or if he wakes. You too Daisy."

We each settle down and Bonnie watches us drop to sleep from the mouth of the cave. Soon enough, I'm deep in nightmares. It's the same picture, over and over. Juliet's silver knife, flying through the air and hitting Harriet's chest. But instead of Juliet throwing it, it's me.
