Chapter 6

I DIDN'T KNOW what to do. I didn't

know how to act. I didn't know what to

think. The fumes obviously reached a

peek in my brain, to make me see such

things.

Maybe if I just say still... Everything will

go back to normal.

But no matter how long I waited,

nothing happened. Nothing moved.

And I found myself slowly losing my

breath. The oxygen was limiting, and

panic rose inside me. Whatever I was

experiencing, I needed it to stop. But

suddenly, in the distance, I noticed

someone walk by across the exit of the

bike trail, and without any hesitation, I

ran towards them.

"Wait!" I called and ran faster.

I got to the end of the bike trail and

took a sharp turn, and almost rammed

right into the back of the person.

But then I noticed, it wasn't just any

person. It was my aunt.

"Aunt Jodie! Oh, I'm so glad to see you...
Jodie I think I--"

But she just ignored me and kept

walking.

"Aunt Jodie?"

I reached out for her, but the most

imaginable thing happened.

My hand went right through her back.

I froze, watching my aunt walk away

without any recolition I was there. My

hand stayed out-reached, unable to

return back to my side.

This isn't real.

Not of it is real.

I'm going to wake up.

And all of this will just be a mere dream.

But it did feel real, it felt so real it

scared me to bits.

And part of me made me feel like I

would never wake up.

What kind of fumes did I inhale? Who

was that man? Was he the one who

was stalking me yesterday? And a

more important question... was he the

one at my window?

Something was seriously wrong. My life

was too boring to be experiencing this.

I went back to the stop where I had

woken up from. Maybe if I layed back

down in the same spot, I would come

back to reality, as crazy as it may

sound. But I did just that. I layed down,

taking in the grey sky before I shut my

eyes tightly together.

"Is she awake?"

"Does she look awake to you? Her eyes
are closed."

"Her nose is moving."

"Shut up, idiot."

Voices started to drown my ears, and

suddenly I felt cold, unlike the blank

feeling I had walking through the

greyish atmosphere.

I felt really cold.

Too cold.

My eyes popped open, but when I did, I

noticed I was in a dark, rustic looking

area, almost like an old dungeon that

was worn out and dirty. The ground

was freezing, my bare arms sticking to

it painfully. After I took in the area, I

then noticed three men standing above

me.

One of them was the man that had been

following me, and the one to cover my

mouth with the cloth. The other two I

had never seen before. One had a

scruffy beard, brown shaggy hair, and

small brown eyes; he looked like he

could be a lumberman. The other one

was younger than the other two,

maybe a bit older than me. He had

messy black hair, a bit greasy and

unkept, strands of hair sweeping

across his eyes. His eyes were grey and

intimidating, like that of a Siberian

Husky's. I tried sitting up, but I

couldn't. My back felt like it had been

beaten and wounded, and felt as if it

was about to collapse if I moved too

much, so I layed back down, squinting

my eyes in pain.

"I told you she was awake."

"Shut up!" Growled the lumberman.

"Where am I?" I said in panic, "Who are you all? What is this place? Where am I?"

I asked and frantically looked around,

the place so unfamiliar. But then, in

the corner of my eye, I noticed other

movement, and when I looked over, I

saw a old rustic cage, and inside was a

girl. The girl looked so young, and her

cheeks were red and wet from crying.

She looked at me with such fear, fear

swelled up in myself. She tried

mouthing something to me, but I

couldn't understand. Her lips were

shaking, and her jaw jerked. Then, as if

a boulder suddenly came and hit me

right in the noggin, everything came to

me at once. This really wasn't my

imagination, even how unbelievable

as it seemed. I had been kidnapped.

But I wasn't the only one.

I had been drugged.

I hallucinated.

But now, this was real.

This is actually real, I'm not imagining

things. This is real.

I repeated so many times in my head.

Each time fear barging in uninvited.

This was real.
