No One Else But Me

No One Else But Me

I was sitting all alone

Hoping for some company

When I saw her walk into the room

I hoped she would sit with me

For I had a secret love

For this girl for a long time

She looked around and then sat down

On the chair next to mine

She told me she was feeling things

She had never felt before

Like warmth flowing in her veins

When she saw him open the door

And when he walked across the room

A smile came to her face

She felt like they were the only two

People in the whole human race

She told me she felt butterflies

When he sat down next to her

And all the while, she had to smile

'Cause her head was in a twirl

And when he asked, "How are you?"

She'd blush and say, "I'm fine"

And when he happened to touch her hand

She felt chills rush up her spine

She told me she could see happiness

In a future with this man

And suddenly I was the loneliest guy

In this lonely land

I got up from the table

And said, "I'll see you soon"

I turned again to say good-bye

But she was walking across the room

She asked where I was going

I told her I didn't really know

Probably to another lonely bar

She asked if she could go

She smiled and reached for my hand

And it was suddenly plain to see

The man that she'd been waiting for

Was no one else but me

She told me she felt butterflies

When he sat down next to her

And all the while, she had to smile

'Cause her head was in a twirl

And when he asked, "How are you?"

She'd blush and say, "I'm fine"

And when he happened to touch her hand

She felt chills rush up her spine
