4 Years

I remember the look on your face the moment we kissed

I remember the pain in my heart knowing what we would miss

You slowly turned from me, a tear in your eye

I reached out, you didn't see

And I began to cry

I remember standing alone in the crowded room

I remember thinking to myself this is far too soon

And as you disappeared a piece tore from my heart

I remember we told each other we would never part

And as I look back at the days that passed us by

I realize

It's been 4 years since we said good-bye

I remember the lonely nights that I longed for you

I remember the feeling inside knowing our love was true

I tried to convince myself the pain would go away

But it just kept getting stronger every day

I began to look at my life that passed me by
