|Chapter Two| Unwanted Help

Rain and lightning stormed below, causing the thunder to faintly sound up by Arceus' castle. Liana sat in her room with Curiosity and the new Lillipup, whom was huddled next to Liana due to the distant thunder. Curiosity had taken a liking to the Lillipup, so Liana had been considering adding him to their team.

"What to do now. . ." Liana wondered with a sigh. "I guess we could go looking for that strange Houndoom, but it's raining outside."

"You could tell me why those two Pokémon were here."

Liana jumped at Darkrai's voice, inhaling and exhaling when she saw him come out of a corner shadow.

"Darkrai, one of these times you're going to literally scare the life out of me and I'm going to slap you."

Darkrai just rolled his eyes, looking down at the Fennekin that was jumping up at him. He floated up a little higher, even more out of reach of the little fire type.

"Why were those two eeveelutions here?" He tried again.

"They found a new problem," Liana started explaining. "Some weird Mega Houndoom-Charizard X hybrid attacked this poor Lillipup, so they came to me so I could tell Arceus."

"Mega Houndoom-Charizard X hybrid?"

"Yeah, apparently."

Darkrai looked at the Lillipup, "What are you going to do with that Pokémon?"

"I think I'm going to keep him. He seems pretty scared to be alone," Liana answered, stroking the puppy Pokémon's soft and fluffy fur. Curiosity left Darkrai alone and jumped up onto the bed, demanding the same attention. "He also won't leave my side, so. . ."

"Fear is a weakness, and it sounds like he might have a separation problem. He'll only be useless to you when you'll really need him."

"Useless or not, he's a Pokémon that needs help. I won't abandon him."

Darkrai sighed his ghostly, hollow sigh. Thunder cracked outside, a flash of light startling Lillipup. Curiosity huddled up next to Liana, covering his big ears with his paws.

"Whatever. I'm going to go find someone."

Liana watched him disappear into one of the shadows in the room, sighing to herself. Curiosity was looking at the spot where the Dark type had left, still covering his ears in case of more thunder. Lillipup had fallen asleep where he lay.

"Maybe we should just sleep through this storm, like Lillipup," Liana said to herself and to Curiosity. Curiosity nodded his agreement, burying himself in Liana's covers. She followed his lead and quickly fell asleep.

"We should just leave this to Liana, Tye-Dye."

Tye-Dye and Telepathy were walking along the route where they had first met Lillipup and that strange Houndoom. This was against Telepathy's wishes, though. He thought they should just leave it to Liana.

"No way, what if that weird Pokémon comes back and hurts someone else?" Tye protested.

"Then we get Liana! She knows what she's doing," Telepathy pressed.

Tye sighed, stopping and glaring at Telepathy. "What if something happens and we're not here to stop it or get Liana?"

"It doesn't have to be us patrolling out here. Assign it to one of the other Eeveelutions. Let Skye do it, he wouldn't mind," the Espeon said, somewhat pleading.

"Why are you so determined to stop me from doing this?"

"I don't want you to get hurt!"

Tye's gaze softened, "I'll be fine, Telepathy. Nothing bad is going to happen, especially if you're here."

Telepathy's ears drooped, figuring he'd lost this argument. He looked down at the ground. Tye-Dye sighed.

"Fine, how about we go and get someone stronger than us to help?" the strangely colored Sylveon suggested.

"That would make me feel better," Telepathy admitted. "Who would we get, though?"

"One of the legendaries, of course."

"Which one?" he asked, split tail flicking uncertainly.

"Doesn't matter, we'll figure it out when we get there. Right?"

Telepathy rolled his eyes, "Right, okay." He wrapped his tail around one of Tye-Dye's ribbons, using the move Teleport. They had Teleported to the hallway right outside of Liana's room.

"We have to be quiet, most of the legendaries are probably asleep," Telepathy said quietly, starting to pad down the hallway. Tye-Dye nodded, following him.

"What legendaries are awake at night, do you think?" Tye wondered.

"Yveltal, Zygarde Giratina, probably Deoxys, maybe Dialga and Palkia. Arceus, of course. Cresselia and Lunala. The Regis. Am I missing anyone?" answered Telepathy.

"Darkrai?"

"Oh . . . do you think we'll run into him?"

"Probably."

"I've been watching you since you got here. Why wouldn't you run into me?"

Tye-Dye visibly jumped, tripping over Telepathy and sending them both falling. An eerie laugh echoed through the dark hall. Embarrassed, Tye-Dye stood back up, Telepathy doing the same.

"T-that wasn't funny, Darkrai," Tye said, his ribbons limp with embarrassment.

"It was pretty funny to me. What are you doing here?"

"We were looking for someone to help us," Telepathy answered.

"Help with what?"

"We don't want your help, so it doesn't matter."

"Suit yourself. Good luck finding a different legendary at this hour."

They turned away from the Dark type. Tye mumbled something to himself, then said "Telepathy, maybe we should just ask for his help."

"Why?"

"Because, he's got a point. What legendaries are we gonna find this late at night?"

Telepathy sighed, his ear twitching irritably. "I guess that's true. . ."

The two Eeveelutions turned back to Darkrai, who was watching them with ominous blue eyes.

"Okay, Darkrai. We need your help," Telepathy said with a sigh.

"Oh really now? What if I don't want to help you?"

"But you offered-"

"And you refused."

The Espeon sighed heavily, trying to blink away the frustration. "Darkrai, please don't make this difficult. . ."

"I'm not being difficult," Darkrai denied stubbornly.

"Yes, you very much are!" he retorted. "Please help us before we have to wake Liana up or something."

Darkrai thought that over for a minute, seeming to blend in with the darkness of the floating castle. After a while, he said "Fine. I'll help."

"Yes!" Tye-Dye said triumphantly. "We need you to help us keep watch for that Mega Houndoom thing."

"Alright," he responded, sinking into the darkness. "I'll see you there, I presume."

Tye-Dye nodded, and Telepathy sighed. "This is going to be a long night," he muttered to himself, wrapping his tail around one of Tye's ribbons and disappearing with a flash.
