Chapter 2: Ground-breaking rules
After Ruby explained everything that happened leading up to the point where they got to Stalag 13 there was a bit of pause in the crowd. Some would say it was because they couldn't believe the girls. Others would say they couldn't believe there were girls. In fact when Ruby said that they were not familiar with any of their surroundings, Hogan and the others were surprised to find people who didn't know of the war. After all, this IS a world war, never mind the second one. Then when Ruby asked where they were on Remnant Hogan said "You mean Earth right?"
"What's an earth?" Yang asked confusing the group even more.
Newkirk, the British officer of the group asked the girls, "You mean to tell me that you four birds are from another world, and don't know what planet you're standing on?"
(This is Newkirk)
Blake blinks, and says, sounding bored, yet offended, "Yes."
Newkirk turned to Hogan and muttered, "A bit bonkered, they are."
Weiss then glared at the man in Blue and said, "I heard that! I may not know what bonkered means, but I KNOW that's not a true statement! Ruby is telling the truth, and I can vouch for her. We all do."
Hogan shrugs, and said, "No offence, lady, but as far as I can tell, she isn't telling the truth, and you're all in on it. I don't know any of you, so your vouch is useless. Besides that, we're in a prison camp, and it's our job to get you out of here, if not keep you alive."
Blake then walked up to Hogan and said, "What about you guys? Don't you want to leave too?"
Carter, hands in his pockets, then walked up, looking a little goofy at it, then said, "Why would we want to? We got a-"
(This is Carter...)
He's interrupted by the Colonel, with his hand over Carter's mouth, saying, "A great Komandant that takes care of us."
Weiss gives the Colonel a raised eyebrow with her face saying 'Seriously?' and then said "Don't lie to us; your hiding something!"
Hogan is about to say something, but Yang at this point raises her arm to lean against a bunk. But that particular bunk had a secret tunnel built into it. The bottom bunk has a way of lifting the mattress part, and lowering the mattress support boards into a vertical position to the tunnel below, serving as a ladder to get in and out with. Yang notices, as well as everyone else, and she said, "Hey, you got a hole in the floor."
Ruby got excited, and rushes lightning fast over to it, rose petals flying everywhere in peoples faces. She squeals in child-like excitement and then proceeded to jump down into the hole and climb back up it over and over a few times, until the other girls grabbed her and dragged her away from it.
Weiss then made a face of confidence and looked over at the Colonel and said "I thought you guys were hiding something."
Blake then asked the Colonel, "If you're not using the tunnel for yourselves, then why do you have it?"
Hogan heavily sighed and said, "Since you already know about the tunnel, you might as well know the rest. We're a part of an underground operation. We receive people, and smuggle them out right under the Germans' noses. And in case you didn't know, they're the bad guys. Except for Schultz. We've tamed him. If he catches us in our operation..."
The other guys in the barracks said in unison, "I know nothing, nothing!"
Ruby then calmed down and said, "Wow, he's pretty dumb then."
Carter then looked at the young girl and said, "And its a good thing too, otherwise our whole operation would be found out. And we'd be out of a job."
Blake stared at Carter, and said, "I think you should be more worried about winning, then being out of a job."
Hogan then looked to Blake and said "Well, if you don't got a job you don't have anything, not in this war."
Kincheloe then climbed up the ladder from the tunnel, pauses when he sees Yang, blushed a little, and announced, "Message from London, Colonel." He then handed a piece of paper to his boss, and then closes the entrance to the tunnel and then saw the other girls in the barracks. "Who are the broads?"
(This is Kinch...)
Weiss exclaimed, "Excuse me? What did you call us?"
"Easy, Weiss." Yang said, "He just thinks we're hot."
That didn't help at all. Weiss got all red-faced, and steam shot from her ears. No one really knows if it was from blushing, or outright rage.
Hogan then opened the folded piece of paper to read the message that London had sent. Hogan then said, "IS London out of their minds?!"
Newkirk then approached his boss and asked, "What's the mission, sir?"
Ruby then popped up and asked. "Whose London?"
Strange looks are given to her, and she asked in a small voice, "What?"
Hogan ignored Ruby's question and then informed his crew about the mission, "London wants to knock out German 88mm AA guns that are shooting down our bombers trying to hit a V-1 rocket factory near Dusseldorf and they want us to knock out those guns. Worse yet, the guns are guarded by 20 men for each of the five of the guns day or night."
Carter said, a little mopey, "Gosh. That doesn't give us much room to go in and blow it all up, now does it. And I've just made some really great bombs."
"Eh, what good are those bombs if we can't use them?" Hogan pointed out. "Besides we could never get close enough to use them."
Blake quietly added, "But we could." but it almost went unheard, but Lebeu heard it alright.
He muttered something in French to her, and she just looked confused. So he translated, "You going to...." the rest is hard to understand, but the gist is that the girls seduce the guards. To which Lebeu got a fat slap on the cheek from Weiss. He shrugged, and asked to Kinch, "Did I do something wrong again?"
Blake said, "No, but we girls can get you guys in. And it doesn't involve flirting."
Ruby asked Blake, "Blake, what did you have in mind? And is this going to help us get home?"
"No, but we've got to do something in the meantime. I mean, it beats playing prisoner."
Yang cleared her throat, and mentioned, "We don't have our weapons. We lost them when we got here. In fact, they might be back at Remnant."
Ruby then said, "But we DO have our semblances! And we can use those to our advantage, is that what you had in mind, Blake?"
"More or less. I meant we could use that to get inside." Blake said.
"Hate to be a bit of a burden, but what are you birds talking about?" Newkirk asked.
After they explained what semblance is, one by one the girls explained and showed their personal semblances. Afterwards, all eyes were on Hogan, and silence hung in the air for a while. Then he cocked his head, and simply said, "Just might work."
Line break brought to you by Ruby speeding pass the camera...
The four girls of team RWBY were then being escorted by Schultz and a couple of other guards to Klink's office for questioning. Soon they entered the office building and were standing in front of Klink's office door. Schultz asked the blonde secretary, "Is the Komandant ready to see the new prisoners?"
"Not yet, he's still on the phone." She said. "He said he's not to be disturbed."
Ruby asked, simply because she was curious, "Whose he talking to?"
"The Gestapo." Hilda the secretary said.
(this is her...)
Schultz grunted slightly, but the girls didn't know what that was supposed to mean.
"The what-what?" Ruby asked.
Hilda looked confused, and surprised at that. "The Gestapo are Hitler's secret police."
Schultz mutters a half-hearted salute to their leader, mostly because he was tired.
Weiss, recognizing that name must be important, asked, "Whose Hitler? Is he in charge?"
Hilda tried her best to explain who that guy really was to the Germans, all the while trying to sound as if she really meant it, and wasn't at all confused at having to explain all this to anyone. EVERYONE knew this already, so how is it that four young girls didn't even know what his name meant?
"So, he's THAT guy?" Yang asked, pointing to a picture of him.
Hilda nods, and Ruby tries to not chuckle, but is still heard. "He has a funny moustache!" Then she and her sister bursted out laughing. At that moment, Klink's office door swung open, Klink shouting, "What is the meaning of this? Why are you laughing?"
There's a slight pause, then Ruby starts laughing even harder, this time because of the bald head and the funny monocle in the Kamandant's eye. That made him mad. Tried as he might, he couldn't stop her from laughing. Pretty soon, everyone but Klink was laughing at his bald head, even though a couple of them had already seen it. MANY TIMES.
When everyone settled down after a while of laughing the four girls were in Klink's office to be questioned. What was said in there is not important, and quite boring. So we'll skip to when they're put back in the barracks. By now the girls and guys were forming their plan of attack on the AA defenses. Team RWBY were to get the boys past the guards, Ruby and Blake taking charge of making sure the boys aren't seen by the guards. While Weiss and Yang would provide backup incase they were spotted.
Carter would ready the explosives and the others would place them on the 88s. Then the girls would get them out and BOOM, the guns are no more. At least, that was the plan.
Then the Gestapo showed up with Major Hochstetter as he walked into Klink's office.
(Shown here...)
(He's shown here screaming, because he often does that for no reason, especially when he's ignored, and or his questions go unanswered. Other than that, he's a friendly guy. Sort of...)
Then one of the other Prisoners informed Hogan that the Gestapo Major was here. Hogan, the girls, and his men saw him arrive from their windows, and got slightly worried.
"Well, let's listen to what he has to say." Hogan said as he walked into his office as Kinch wired the coffeepot.
For a bit, it's just Hochstetter bossing Klink into obedience like a stubborn puppy afraid for it's life. (Klink is the puppy in this case, if you didn't know. The Major is the guy with a big stick.) "Klink, a lightning bolt struck not to far from here, and since then, four young fraulines have been spotted there, and were neither seen nor heard of before then. The Gestapo would like to question them and find out where exactly they came from."
Klink, trying to take the figurative stick back, said, "Major Hochstetter, this is against regulations. May I ask why this is necessary?"
Back in the barracks, Blake asked, "Is this Major worth worrying about?"
Hogan said, "Not sure yet. Sometimes he can be a handful, but we can usually get around it."
"USUALLY, being the key word there?" Weiss asked.
Hogan shrugged, and nodded.
"The girls are not to be trusted, they are of unknown origin. For all we know, they could be spies for the allied offences." The Major's voice stated from the coffeepot.
Klink's voice laughed, and said, "These girls? Spies? HA! Impossible. They're harmless, and are far too young to be spies."
"I will see that for myself. NOW GET ME THE GIRLS!"
"Major, are you sure it's the Gestapo who wants them, and not you?" Klink innocently asked.
But the Major growled, and scared the Kamandant into getting on the phone, and calling a guard to go get them.
Blake asked Hogan, "How about now?"
"NOW we worry." Hogan said.
