Peggy's POV

"J.D which one turns off the bomb"

Then silence

"They're all red!" I hear Veronica scream in her sleep. I decided to shake her awake since it was clearly a bad dream.

"Heather!" Veronica says when she awakes. I really wonder what she was dreaming about.

"You good V?"

"Yeah, just a bad dream" She fake smiles and we both get ready for school.

Veronica's POV

I had a nightmare where I basically relived me trying to turn off the bomb J.D tried to use to blow up the school. But then Heather came out of no where and laughed like a maniac. Peggy woke me up and we got ready for school. I wore a blue shirt that started at my chest. Then I put on a black dress/jumper over it. (Like the picture)

Wait, school is today! I'm so excited. Sure I'll be a late bloomer but I'll manage. Before we go to classes we decide to all meet up at campus.

"Hey y'all" John says

"So Veronica, you ready for your first day at Kings?" Alex asked

"Sure am"

"So what do you have first?" Eliza ask me

"Uhh, history with Washington" Right after I say that, everyone else says in unison, "We have that too!" I hear a bell ring and then Angelica says, "Last one there is a rotten egg!"

We all start running, good thing Alex and John gave me a tour or else I would be late. John is first, Angelica was second, Peggy was third, Eliza was fourth, either way I was second to last. If you're wondering Alex was last.

Great job Veronica you broke the fucking fourth wall.

Anyways! We all take our seats. I sit in the third row with John. By the way, we were the last to come in.

Veronica, I swear I will make this story about Heather if you don't shut up and let me fix the fourth wall.

Ok, ok.

Mr.Washington came in and just then this kid that looked like Lafayette came in. The only difference's between him and Laf is that he had his hair out and wore a fuchsia leather jacket and other things that looked expensive. I was the only one to notice this man and he sat right behind me with some others who looked like a squad too. I wanted to introduce myself but before I could Mr.Washington spoke.

"Excuse me everyone. Today we have a new student with us. Can you please introduce yourself?"

I slowly stood up and everyone had their eyes on me. I started to feel anxious but the smiles of my new friends boosted my confidence.

"I'm Veronica Sawyer. I moved from Sherwood Ohio and I'm happy to be here" I say in the most calming voice I can.

"Thank you Ms.Sawyer-" I cut him off, "Uh, Veronica is fine" Oh god, was I being disrespectful? I was about to apologize but Mr.Washington said ok. I sighed in relief, and just like that we started the lesson.

We were 15 minutes into class when I feel a piece of paper hit me. I turn around and I see that man in the fuchsia laugh with some other people. Being in this situation before, I ignore it. Just then another paper is thrown at me and this time John notices.

"Jefferson, stop acting like an idiot for once " John whispers to this "Jefferson". After John spoke some other kid said, "Shut it fag" I snapped at this

"Hey, listen up bigot, I don't appreciate your attitude, so why don't you do yourself a favor and shut the fucking hell up so everyone else can be spared from your stupidity. And you(Pointing at Jefferson) throw some of that social studies work in your brain, you might learn something" Everyone stared at me with their mouth open. I turned back and John mouthed a thank you. I mouthed you're welcome back. Apparently all my friends were staring and smiling at me too.

After class ended i figured out that we all had a free period.

"Girl, I can't believe you stood up to Jefferson and his crew!" Peggy said

"Yeah, no one trash talks him like that, well except for Alex" Herc said.

"Yeah, that was beautiful Veronica" Alex says. I thanked him.

"Thanks for having my back." John said

"That's what friends are for right?" I said. We continued to talk for a while until that Jefferson came up to us with his so called crew.

"Hey! You!" He screamed

"What now Jeffershit" Alex said

"I'm not talking to you bastard. I want to know who your new addition to the group"

"Are you death-" Maria tried to speak up

"Shut it whore" A man with a hat said.

"So you're Veronica?" Jefferson said

"Yeah, what's it to you"

"I'm going to let you know that I know everyone's past here and everything that they did so watch your back." I got scared now. How could he know? This was bad but I had to keep a brave face.

"Really, what do you know about me. Cause, you just seem to think everyone will fear you as if they knew you since the day you were born." My friends gave me the most worried look in the world

"I know that four of your friends committed suicide. Two attempted. Even you tried to kill yourself." My friends gasped, Alex though looked petrified. But I knew most of what he said wasn't true so I stayed strong. He walked away and everyone just stared at me.

"Don't worry about guys."

"Why would you leave that part out Mon Ami?" Laf asked.

"Yeah, were always here for you" Eliza said.

"Guy, look it was just a joke that I tried to kill my self ok and for the rest......I don't wanna talk about it."

"Can you just tell us who committed....you know?" Alex asked

"I guess you deserve to know, but after classes are done. Meet at Peggy and my dorm." I said.

Alex's POV

Oh god, I thought losing my cousin was bad but losing four friends and almost losing two more is worse. And what did she mean, "it was just a joke"? You can't pretend to kill yourself! That was stupid of her to do that. I rambled all day to John, Angelica, and Laf but all dismissed and we would all just have to wait for Veronica's back story.

It was the end of our classes so me and John went to Veronica's dorm.

Me and John were last so we just talked for a while until Veronica came out.

"Ok, here's the story. I become part of the Heather's group as you know and heather Chandler was the leader of the group. Though after that party I told you about Heather was found dead. She chugged down drain o and left a suicide note, saying how no one knew the real her."

"So what about the other three?" Peggy asked

"Next were Kurt Kelly the quarterback and Ram Sweeney the line backer. This was two days after Heather killed herself. Ram and Kurt shot each other and also left a suicide note saying how hey had to die so no one could no about their gay forbidden love from a miss approving world." I was shocked, so was John. How could society lead to this. I knew Veronica said her town was homophobic but not like that. I could also swear I saw Veronica smile but I couldn't tell.

"And the fourth?" Maria asked

"The last one was J.D" Peggy gasped at this sentence.
"J.D was my boyfriend." I am in shock

"He blew himself up and didn't leave a note. Also my two friends Heather McNamara and Martha tried to commit suicide but I stopped Heather and Martha's plan didn't work. If you excuse me, I need to do homework." Veronica left to her room and we talked among ourselves.

"Poor girl" Eliza said

"Poor people" John said.

"It's sad to know why people do this. But we have to treat Veronica like nothing ever happened" I said

"True that Alex" Peggy said

"But, do any of you believe that she 'joked' about killing herself" Herc ask

"No" we all said in unison

Veronica's POV

I just lied to my friends and it hurts like hell.

I just hope they won't find out that I'm lying.

Jefferson's POV

"Who thinks Veronica is hiding something" I ask my friends

"I think so, she just had a blank face when we reveled her past." Charles said

"Me two" James Reynolds said

"Most would either show a face of terror of look down, she did none of that" George Frederick

"Then I guess we'll have to find out Ronnie's little secret" I say

I'm going to know what that girl did in Sherwood Ohio and she is going down.
