This chapter is about the time you were in the Akatsuki. So you won't see Kakashi a lot, but you will see plenty of Itachi!!

Your POV

"(Name).. it's been a long time since I last seen you. Why are you here?"

I was standing in front of the whole Akatsuki organization, trying to at least trick them into letting me join. But I knew the one person that would be tough to fool would be Itachi since I've known him since he was a kid.

"Well as you can see, I wanna join you. But I never thought you'd join Itachi, I didn't even know you had left the village like me. But I guess we're full of surprises." I was trying to act nonchalant but I was really worried about whether Itachi would blow my cover. Itachi just groaned and closed his eyes. Then a guy with orange hair and a bunch of piercings approached me. He pulled out a Kunai knife. The other members either chuckled or observed to see what he would do.

"My name is Pein. I am the leader of the Akatsuki. Before I decide whether or not I should kill you, tell us why you abandoned your village and how you can contribute to this organization." I didn't flinch but I was terrified of this guy's presence. I wasn't shaking but I could feel his eyes staring into my soul, so I couldn't mess up for nothing.

"I left the Leaf to find some answers about my past that they've kept from me ever since I was born. I want revenge on the people who made me suffer and think I was worthless. As for what I can contribute to this organization..." I handed a scroll to Pein. He took it and read the scroll. I saw no emotion in him at all so it was hard to tell if he was impressed or not. He turned around to Itachi.

"Can we trust her." Itachi opened his eyes and looked at me before returning his gaze to Pein.

"She's telling the truth, we can trust her. (Name) also is valuable concerning our goal, not to mention she can hold her own in battle and knows information that can be useful to us. I say yes to letting her join." Itachi says while giving a serious expression. Pein turned to the others.

"Sasori."

"I could care less, but this place could use more women."

"Deidara."

"She seems dynamite. If anything I'll make her into a work of art if she steps out of line. Hmm."

"Kakazu."

"More funds for the organization, so I'll say yes."

"Hidan."

"Hell yeah! There are too many guys here, more women the better! Plus she's smoking hot!" I felt myself nearly blush when Hidan winked at me. I don't like him but it's not every day you get compliments.

"Konan."

"Let her join, I won't be the only sensible person, not to mention female, here."

"Zetsu."

"I say yes. I personally fought her in the past so I know she's strong. By the way, no harm no foul from stabbing you back then (Name)."

"It's in the past, I was naive at the time so I don't care anymore. I only have a scar so it's alright." I waved my hand dismissively.

"Kisame."

"As long as she doesn't annoy or bore me, I'm okay with it."

"Then it's settled the-"

"You're not going to ask Tobi for his opinion?!" You turned around to see Tobi but he was acting differently than usual. He was acting like a complete idiot and his voice was higher too.

"Is this really the same person who gave me intense training all those years before coming here?" You thought as you saw Tobi skip to Pein.

"No. You're not even a part of the Akatsuki, and you're a moronic simpleton." Pein said while walking away. Tobi fell to the ground, why he looked like my brother I had no clue.

"Welcome to the Akatsuki, (Name)."

~ Months later ~

"So you left because you were forced to choose between your clan or the village?" I said to Itachi. I took Itachi to mount Myoboku since it's the only place I can be in without having Tobi eavesdrop or spy on me. He was explaining his situation to me. I was surprised to hear that Itachi was protecting the village in the shadows without ever being recognized for his work and strength.

"That's right. And I chose to kill my own clan and ensure that not only the village but Sasuke's future was safe. I didn't want Sasuke to have to live and grow up during a war because of our clan. But I didn't do it alone." Itachi said as he looked at me. I knew what he meant by the look on his face.

"Madara helped you didn't he..." I lowered my head. I couldn't stand him and learning this just made me slightly more upset.

"Yes... Lord third said that he'd watch over Sasuke for me while I was away helping you with this investigation. So we are basically in the same situation, the only difference is... you still get to go back home to your brother..." Itachi said while hiding his face with his hair. You looked over to Itachi and gave him a hug. Itachi was shocked as he rested his head on your chest.

"I'm so sorry, Itachi... who knew that you, the caring, sweet little boy I used to know, would carry such a heavy burden on his shoulders... when I return to the Leaf, I promise to continue to watch over Sasuke.." tears were falling from your face onto Itachi's hair. You felt your chest get a little wet and looked down to see Itachi silently crying. He returned the hug but tighten his grip around you as he let himself be vulnerable to you. You've never seen Itachi so hurt so it's only natural for you to be concerned.

"Thank you, (Name)-sama..." Itachi said while releasing you and wiping away any remaining tears. He looked up to see you smiling at him.

"No, thank you Itachi... since nobody really knows the truth about your noble actions but me and Lord third.. please let me say thank you. You truly are worthy of the title Hokage..." I grinned as I notice Itachi's eyes widen and a slight blush appearing. He quickly averted his gaze from me.

"Hn." I laughed as I saw how embarrassed he was. Then I saw Itachi's smile. That was the last time I would ever see his pure smile.

~ present day at the Leaf training grounds ~

"Today Kakashi was going to introduce me to the group of kids he and Naruto were teamed up with. I know one is a girl with pink hair, while the other is a raven-haired boy. I was excited to meet Team 7!"

You and Kakashi were just walking into the training grounds late as you noticed Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura by the three poles. You were late because Kakashi had disappeared to do something before heading out to meet the group.

"Hey guys, sorry we're late. We were both on our way here until we suddenly saw a black cat. We had to walk the long way." Kakashi said while rubbing the back of his neck.

"Don't say 'we' when you're the one who left and didn't tell me where we would meet them, Kakashi." I said as we approached them.

"Anyways, guys this is the person I was telling you about. This incredibly smart and beautiful Kunoichi is (Name), my girlfriend."

"Kakashi-sensei and (Name) sitting in a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-... Ow!" Naruto was singing before the girl with the pink hair punched him.

"I'm so sorry about Naruto, (Name)-san. He's just an idiot who doesn't know when to behave." Sakura said while laughing. But you weren't laughing, you were rather angry. So angry your hair started floating up in the air as you had a sinister smile on your face. Kakashi grabbed you before you could attack. Sakura was rather confused and scared.

"(Name)-san, d-did I do something wrong?" Sakura said while hiding behind Sasuke and Naruto.

"Yeah, you brat! Insult my brother again and I'll beat your head into the ground!!!" You said while struggling to get out of Kakashi's grip. Naruto went to you to calm you down. Sasuke and Sakura were confused.

"Naruto... I thought you didn't have any siblings..." Sasuke said while eyeing you. Sakura was quite curious as well. Kakashi released you after you calmed down and you stood next to Naruto.

"Well, she wasn't here at the time I met you guys, but yeah (Name) is my Nee-chan!" Both you and Naruto broke into a wide grin. Sasuke looked a little upset while Sakura felt guilty for insulting Naruto in front of you.

"(Name), this is Uchiha Sasuke and Haruno Sakura." Kakashi said while gesturing to both of them. You froze in place when you heard Sasuke's name. You walked up to him and hugged him.

"What the-!"

"I'm so sorry, Sasuke... you went through so much, if I would've known you back then... you probably would've had a different life. I knew Itachi before he went rogue and saw him when I was undercover." You stopped before you said too much, you promise Itachi you wouldn't tell Sasuke the truth.. at least not yet.

"W-wait.. you know that man? Do you know where he is right now?!" Sasuke said while having a frantic expression on his face. You were saddened when you saw how he reacted to Itachi.

"No.. but I'll make you a deal."

"What is it?"

"Let me train you for a month... I could tell you all of Itachi's go to moves so you can be familiar with it in battle." You whispered in Sasuke's ear. Sasuke smirked and shook your hand.

"Deal!"

"Under one condition."

"During that month, you have to live under my roof so I can keep watch over you. Okay?" Sasuke was hesitant but then he nodded his head.

"I don't know why you're suddenly interested in training me, but if you can help me get stronger than I'll do it."

"Great! I'm glad I got to meet you Sasuke!"

"Nee-chan! How come you offer to train Sasuke but when I ask you to train me you say no!" Naruto said while steam was coming out of his ears.

"Because I made a promise to someone in his clan in the past that I'd watch over him and train him to become stronger." Sasuke's face grew pale.

"Who did you promise...!"

"Let's just say.. someone who loves... I mean loved you with all their heart and wished nothing but the best for you." You smile at Sasuke and poked his forehead with your index and middle finger. Sasuke was blushing with a stunned expression on his face. You hope you copied Itachi correctly since he has done that to you a couple times before. If Sasuke understood your hint then you could only hope Sasuke could forgive Itachi in the future.

"Alright let's start today's training session!"

A/N: this was supposed to show some of Itachi and reader-chan's similarities. I really wished Itachi was still alive and had a better ending than he did but hey, Itachi was a great older brother 😭💔
