Chapter 30 (Season two finale)

Your POV

You were standing in front of the gates of the village, already packed with your things to leave the village. You didn't see Kakashi this morning, which was upsetting, but you fought back your tears and got ready to leave.

You assumed Jiraiya-sensei and Naruto might be a little late. Naruto is probably eating at Ichiraku's before he takes off, as for Jiraiya-sensei... you don't even wanna think about it.

Then a strong breeze hit you and you were pulled into an intense hug. You were caught off guard until you saw his silver hair. Kakashi actually came to see you off... Tears started to form in your eyes.

"Kakashi..." you said while returning the hug. Kakashi kissed your forehead and smiled at you.

"You didn't think I'd actually let you leave without seeing you off did you?" He said with a light chuckled as he wiped away your tears. You smiled when he finished. It made you feel a lot better to have Kakashi here with you.

"You weren't home this morning, so I only assumed you woke up early to go on another mission so you couldn't see me leave..."

"Well I did wake up early this morning to receive my mission so then I COULD see you off, but Tsunade surprisingly gave me this day off so I decided to go and buy you a parting gift." Kakashi smiled as your grin widened.

"Really?! What is it?!" You were excited because you really haven't received gifts in a long time. Kakashi shook his head.

"You have to close your eyes." Kakashi said with a closed-eye smile. You sighed then smiled again as you closed your eyes.

Kakashi pulled out a gold necklace with a pendant attached to it. The pendant had a tiger engraved on it, mainly because it reminded him of you. Kakashi then went behind you and put the necklace around your neck.

"You can open your eyes now." Kakashi said as he spun you around to face him. You placed your hand on the necklace and pulled it forward to see the pendant. You smiled as you held it and looked at Kakashi.

"You got me a necklace? It's so beautiful, Kakashi." You said as you were messing with the pendant. Then suddenly the pendant opened slightly, but enough to catch your attention. You opened it to see a picture of you and Kakashi together. He was kissing your head while holding you and you were just smiling with a big bright smile. A tear started to form in your eye, but you wiped it away before it fell.

"Kakashi, this is really sweet." You said still wiping your eyes and laughing. Kakashi smiled back, happy you liked his gift.

"Whenever you get lonely, or you just happened to be thinking about me, then just look into that pendant. That way I'll always be with you when you need me." Kakashi got closer to you.

"Thank you..." you said softly as Kakashi was near your lips. You slowly pulled his mask down below his lips. Time froze as his lips were just inches from yours. Your heart was racing as your eyes met Kakashi's. He lost his patience and pulled you into a deep kiss. It was slow yet passionate. Kakashi wanted to take his time since it would be the last time for a while until you come back from training. You both separated from each other, gasping for air.

From the distance, you hear Naruto call you. You look past Kakashi to see your sensei and younger brother waving while approaching you. You waved back then looked back to Kakashi only to find his mask back on. You chuckled a bit before you kissed his cheek and broke free from his grasp.

"I see you two are saying your goodbyes. You ready to go, (Name)?" Jiraiya said while putting his arm on Kakashi. You nodded your head as a sad smile appeared on your face. Kakashi didn't want you to worry so he tried to display a closed-eye smile to you, even though he was dreading every second of it.

"Don't worry, Kakashi-sensei! I'll take care of Nee-chan and come back stronger than ever! It's a promise!" Naruto said as he fist bumped Kakashi. You hugged Kakashi one more time, then you faced Jiraiya.

"I'm ready sensei... Until next time, Kakashi.." you said as you turned back to Kakashi, the two of you staring at each other once more, trying to remember every single detail of each other before you part. You turned forward then made your way to the gate with Naruto and Jiraiya by your side.

Kakashi watched you exit the gates. He let out a sigh and started walking in the opposite direction.

"Until next time... (Name).."

~ Many years later ~

A young pre-teen boy was sitting in front of a grave with flowers and a black Leaf ninja headband in his hands. He had silver hair and a red and white sweater on.

"Hey mom, guess what? I graduated from the academy today. I hope where ever you are, that you're watching over me... I'll make you proud.." the boy said while he set the flowers down on the grave and wiped away his tears. He stood up and stared at the name on the gravestone. The wind blew hard against him, causing him to turn around and run into someone. He looked up and saw silver hair similar to his. It was none other than Hatake Kakashi.

"Dad..? What are you doing here? I thought you had paperwork to do back at the estate?" The boy said as he backed away from him. Kakashi ruffled his hair which annoyed the boy until he looked up at Kakashi's smiling face.

"My son just graduated from the academy, do you really think I'd be stuck in that office when I rather be here with you?" Kakashi chuckled while hugging his son.

"Well you weren't home this morning, so I only assumed you were too busy again with Hokage business.."

"I did leave early to do my 'Hokage business' so that I COULD spend the rest of the day to celebrate you becoming a ninja. Since this is such an important day, I decided to give you a present." Kakashi smiled as he saw his son fold his arms and look away while blushing.

"Really..? So what did you get me, old man?" Rai looked over at Kakashi with curiosity. Kakashi shook his head.

"You have to close your eyes first, Rai."

"Really, dad? Can't you just give me my gift already?" Rai rolled his eyes. Kakashi hit his son on his head.

"Ow! Hey, that hurt!"

"Just close your eyes, and stop being so stubborn." Kakashi said while still smiling. Rai sighed and closed his eyes. He felt something cold rest around his neck.

"You can open your eyes now." Rai heard his father say. He opened his eyes. Around his neck was a gold necklace with a pendant, which had a tiger engraved on it. Rai grabbed the pendant and looked at Kakashi questionably.

"A necklace?"

"That's not just any necklace, son. Open the pendant." Rai raised his eyebrow as he opened the pendant. When it was fully opened, Rai's eyes widened. There was a picture of his father and some woman together on one side, while the other side had a picture of the same woman hugging what looked like a much younger version of himself. Rai looked at Kakashi with tears starting to form in his eyes.

"Is this... my mom?" When Kakashi nodded his head, more tears fell from Rai's face.

"Mom looked so beautiful... she looks just like her..." Rai said laughing while wiping his tears. Kakashi got near his son and gave him a tight hug while Rai let out his tears of happiness.

"This necklace belonged to your mother. I gave it to her when your uncle Naruto was your age. Both of them were going away for intense training for three years, so I bought this for your mom as a way of telling her we would always be together. Even if we're separated." Kakashi said while letting go of his son and wiping away his tears.

"If only your mother was here to see how fine of a young man you've become, Rai. She would be so proud of you." Kakashi said as he placed his hand on the grave. Both of them had a sad smile on their faces until they heard a giggle behind them. It was a short silver-haired girl in a white dress that had (e/c) eyes, smiling brightly at the two males in front of her.

"Papa, Onii-chan, I'm hungry! Can we go eat some Ramen?" The little girl says as she runs into Rai's arms. He lifted her up and kissed his younger sister's cheek.

"Anything for my cute baby sis." Rai smiled while walking out of the cemetery with his sister and Kakashi.

"Koko, this is the third time you've had Ramen this week. I'll make you two some dinner at home, instead of eating ramen." Kakashi said while taking the little girl in his arms. Koko pouts as Rai laughs while they made their way home.

As the sun was setting, one little Leaf landed right in front of the flowers Rai had left on that specific gravestone. The name on the grave... Hatake (Name).
