~ To you and Kakashi outside the Hokage estate ~

"I'm glad that's out of the way." You sighed as you stepped outside of the estate with Kakashi. You both had just finished turning in your report for a mission you completed together. Kakashi chuckled as he grabbed (Name)'s hand.

"I'm relieved as well. Now that we have the afternoon free, why don't we pay Naruto and Sai a visit at the hospital." You looked at Kakashi questionably as you both started walking towards the hospital.

"Why are those two in the hospital?"

"Well while we were gone, Naruto and the others had dealt with a very complicated situation that involved a guy named Sora. From what I found out, Sora had some of the nine-tails chakra, similar to Naruto. Your brother managed to save him along with the village from destruction." Your eyes widened at your brother's accomplishments.

"Wow, hard to believe that little pipsqueak is doing everything I've heard about. I just wish I was actually there in those moments to witness how much he's grown and gotten stronger. I've missed so much of his life already..." You looked away as you both got near the hospital. But all of a sudden, Kakashi stops and pulls you into his embrace leaving you shocked.

"Stop blaming yourself for not being around... we both know it's not your fault and it doesn't matter anymore. You're here now. So instead of focusing on how much you missed, focus on being there for Naruto now. Okay?" Kakashi said while smiling at you. You nodded and smiled.

"Alright, I'll treat him to some ramen when he gets released, just like old times." You said while entering the hospital, still holding Kakashi's hand. You and Kakashi continued to talk casually until you reached Naruto's room. Kakashi opened the door and you both found Naruto choking on an Apple.

"Yo! Hm?" Kakashi said as he entered the room and saw the commotion. You entered slightly before him and rushed to help Naruto as soon as you saw him.

"Oh, for crying out loud! Why can't I have someone normal on my team?!" Sakura yelled as she crushed an apple. She paused and felt a dark aura behind her. Sakura turned around to find you cracking your knuckles.

"Did you just try to choke my little brother." You said with an evil smirk. Sakura turned pale as she slowly backed away. Kakashi quickly jumped in and held you back from attacking Sakura, who had fled behind Sai.

"Oi! Let go of me, Kakashi! This wannabe needs to learn her lesson! I'll kill her!" Kakashi sighed while sweatdropping.

~ Moments after (Name) finally calmed down ~

"Oh, so you guys made a great showing while we were gone, huh?"

"I bet you did great, Naruto." You smiled as you ruffled his hair. Naruto frowned and grabbed your hand.

"Where the heck were you guys? Nee-chan?" You quickly looked at Kakashi, trying to figure out if you should tell Naruto about some recent events.

"Oh... nowhere special." Kakashi quickly said while looking away from Naruto. Then suddenly the door opened to reveal Asuma.

"I knew you'd be here. Kakashi, got a minute?" Kakashi hummed questionably in response. Asuma quickly scratched the back of his neck.

"I want to talk to you... Naruto, Sai. Here, a get well gift!" Asuma said while holding up a basket filled with a variety of apples. Naruto quickly turned pale and panicked.

"I've had enough apples..." you laughed while patting Naruto's back. Sakura tried to laugh as well but you quickly gave her a sharp side eye which silenced her immediately. Kakashi sighed and looked at you.

"Be right back." You nodded as Kakashi smiled at you then headed out the door with Asuma. You quickly turned your attention towards Naruto in excitement.

"Guess what happened to me!" You said beaming with excitement which made Naruto curious.

"You learned a super cool jutsu that you're gonna teach me!" Naruto said while holding his fists up hoping that was the surprise. You sighed as all hope was lost in Naruto guessing correctly.

"No you dummy, Kakashi finally asked me to marry him! We're engaged!" You said while extending your hand with your ring towards Naruto, who was in shock while blushing.

"M-Marriage?!"

"Congratulations, (Name)-sensei." Sai said while attempting to smile.

"I'm so happy for you and Kakashi-sensei! Are you planning on having a big wedding?" Sakura said excitedly. You looked at her a bit stunned. A wedding. You forgot you have to plan for the wedding.

"Uhh maybe after things have settled a bit more, I'll talk with Kakashi about wedding plans." You laughed nervously. You stopped as soon as you noticed Naruto being down and unwrapping his bandages.

"Hey pipsqueak, what are you doing?"

"I don't have time to be lying around here doing nothing. I need to get back to my training." Naruto said while continuing to unwrap the bandages on his leg.

"Well yeah, but you're still...-"

"I'm still too weak." Naruto said while cutting you off. He looked at you with determination on his face.

"That's exactly why I have to get stronger. So I can get power that won't hurt those close to me, but use it to protect them. That's why I gotta keep training." Naruto said. Your eyes widened as this is the first time you've seen your brother like this. Then Naruto shifted his focus towards Sai and Sakura.

"Naruto..." Sakura said with concern.

"Well, hold your horses..." Everyone looked towards the door to see Kakashi there with his arms folded.

"Right now, your priority should be to heal those wounds." You looked at Kakashi, relieved he was able to step in at the right moment.

"Kakashi-sensei!" Naruto said while frowning.

"Let me explain something to you Naruto. If you leave the hospital now, you'll face training so severe that it'll make you wish you had stayed in the hospital to make a full recovery. So prepare yourself." Kakashi said with a serious tone. You looked at him a bit stunned. What kind of training was Naruto doing with Kakashi was all you wondered about. Naruto quickly turned pale and sweatdropped.

"R-Right...! I understand."

You sighed with relief as soon as Naruto finally calmed down. You always knew Kakashi had a way with words. But you also thought he was a bit scary just like Naruto thought at that moment.

"Sakura, (Name) and I have some things to take care of so we'll leave the rest to you." Kakashi said as he extended his hand toward you. You got up and grabbed his hand right away.

"Make sure he doesn't go overboard. But, try not to hurt him in the process... or else I'll kill you." You said while smiling darkly towards Sakura. You made her spine shake as she nodded.

"Bye!" You and Kakashi said in unison as you left the room. You both made your way towards the exit of the hospital.

"You need to control your anger, (Name). I can't have you killing everything that threatens Naruto." Kakashi said as you walked out of the hospital.

"Hey, you're like that with me so you have no say in this. By the way, what did Asuma want?" You asked as you two walked down the path towards your house.

"We didn't really get to speak about it because Kurenai popped up and took Asuma. He said we'd talk about it later, but I can't say I'm not curious about what he wants to tell me." You blinked and then realized you have yet to speak to Kurenai since you got back to the village.

"That reminds me, I have to go see Kurenai soon or else she'll get mad at me. I'll see you later at home, Kakashi. We still have some things we need to discuss." You stopped and made Kakashi face you. He hummed in curiosity.

"What do we need to discuss?" Kakashi said while caressing your cheek. You laughed a little and grabbed his hand.

"I already told you, we can talk about it later. I gotta go find Kurenai before she finds me first."

"Alright then. I'll see you later." Kakashi said as you two shared a hug. Before you left though, in one swift move, Kakashi pulled you back into his embrace, pulled his mask down, and pecked your lips before he disappeared. You blushed and laughed.

"Slick as always, Kakashi."

~ To you walking through the village ~

As you were walking throughout the village, you couldn't help but feel like you were being followed or watched. You tried sensing chakra that seemed off or unusual but nothing out of the ordinary was around. Nothing except... Kurenai and Asuma were approaching you and fast from behind!

"Eek! Kurenai found me!!! I gotta hide!" You thought to yourself as you started jumping onto buildings and ran away. Kurenai noticed you running away and chased after you with Asuma.

"(Name)!!!! Get back here now!" Kurenai yelled as she was about to catch up to you. She extended her hand and was about to grab you.

"Got you!" Kurenai said as she grabbed you by the collar of your shirt. You looked back at her with a sly grin.

"Are you sure?" You giggled back at her. Kurenai was confused until suddenly-

POOF!

"A Shadow clone? (Name)!" Kurenai yelled as she stopped. Asuma caught up to her and was sweatdropping as he noticed how upset she was.

~ Time Skip ~

You were sitting on a bench catching your breath and sensing if Kurenai was still chasing you. Once you didn't feel her menacing chakra anymore you exhaled in relief.

"Finally, I managed to escape Kurenai's wrath."

"Oh really? Are you sure?"

You jumped once you heard Kurenai's voice. Both Asuma and Kurenai appeared before you, Kurenai being a bit more furious than the irritated Asuma.

"Kurenai-chan! N-Nice seeing you in this beautiful day!" You said as you were sweatdropping. Kurenai and Asuma both sighed as they sat next to you on the bench.

"Why didn't you come see me to let me know you were back? I only found out because Asuma said he saw you in the hospital visiting Naruto."

"I was going to...! But I kind of lost track of time when I was with Kakashi..." You said while smiling and showing your ring slowly to Kurenai. She gasped and hugged you in excitement and joy as you both squealed and laughed together. Asuma watched while laughing nervously and sweatdropping.

"Dammit, Kakashi! You definitely rose the bar now! Kurenai might expect something from me now!" Asuma thought as he looked away from the best friends enjoying the moment together as he got frustrated.

"You need to tell me how he proposed. And do not leave out any details."

You giggled as you blushed remembering how beautiful and memorable his proposal was.

"It can wait for another time, I just gotta figure out what we plan on doing for the wedding... now is not exactly the best time to be having a wedding."

"What do you mean? Are you referring to the Akatsuki?" Kurenai asked while showing concern.

"Them and a bunch of other enemies... how am I supposed to enjoy my life when I always have to worry about those that want to come after me and my family.." You said while looking down at your hands. Asuma exhaled smoke and rested his hand on your shoulder... You gazed at Asuma realizing he was about to give you insightful advice that would put you at ease.

"All that is important right now is that you and Kakashi will be together through it all. You won't be fighting to protect your loved ones alone in the shadows anymore. This time we will all support and protect each other, whether we are there physically or spiritually. You will always have our support, not to mention your brother and fiance as well." Asuma said as he smiled softly at you. You returned the smile and nodded in response. Kurenai gave Asuma a loving look as she mouthed 'Thank you' to him.

"Well on the note about family... have you and Kakashi made any efforts in making your own yet?" Kurenai asked while smirking, knowing full and well you would get flustered by the question. As expected, you blushed madly and covered your face while letting out an 'ehh?!' while looking at Kurenai. Asuma chuckled while eyeing you suspiciously. Kurenai got closer to you and grabbed her chin while smiling teasingly.

"I don't know, Asuma. She seems to be glowing in my opinion. I wonder what else happened during that time you were away with Kakashi?" Kurenai said while chuckling. Your entire face turned red from what you heard. 'What else happened while you were away with Kakashi?' you covered your face just thinking about it. Asuma laughed to what he was witnessing.

"I think it's fairly obvious, Kurenai." Asuma said as he continued to laugh.

"Stop teasing me!"
