Chapter 1: What being a conscious girl means

Okay guys so here goes first chapter. This book is gonna be totally different from my style. Yes, it will be having my little tinge to it but it's alternation and design will be different. I really love this story and I am willing to work with all that I can give. This book will be including special aesthetics made by myself because I think they increase the beauty of the whole book further. Although the images do not belong to me. I am hoping to reach 20 comments on this update. The person with the most comments will get a shout out In the next update!!!

                                                                             * Sarah's POV *

Stepping out into the mild warm breeze of New York, I couldn't help but let a smile caress my lips. This city had different connections to me. It's people, It's environment. Everything was what I was accustomed to. It almost felt as if it was way too peaceful here, or maybe it's just my mind playing tricks on me. I think I really need to cancel going to London. That place would never be like this one.

''Huh...If I don't go now I will be missing the bus'' I told myself because literally I can go on and on forever in admiration of my life and the role this whole place plays in it. So walking quickly to the bus station because any second now I think the bus- OH GOD NOOOO!

''STOP!!!! HEY!! Wait for meeeee!!!'' I shrieked just as the bus started moving slowly. Feeling my legs suddenly go on nitro mode, I ran like my life depended on it and almost threw my stuff in an attempt to jump inside. Luckily a lady was helpful enough to move her hand forward and grab my sleeve to tug me in as I desperately tried to hold my stuff together. Still being dazed from the whole event, I rushed to the empty seat and sat down. Being the way too conscious girl that I obviously am, I looked around to see if anyone saw the little stunt I just pulled. To my sheer dread every eye in the bus was not only staring at me but also giving me this look that the female warrior of Wakanda gives to Bruce Banner when he is wearing the suit stark designs for him but hits a rock and falls in Avengers Infinity War. Don't get me wrong but one: I am a Marvel Fangirl. Two: Their glares were more than disturbing.

Trying to shrink my body to somehow just disappear from the scene, I sulked in the seat as much as it was physically possible for me.

I hate attention!

                                                                                        *******

The horrifying journey somehow came to an end only to make my life more miserable. I really have no idea what is the problem with either my body or my face that every person finds themselves obliged to stare at me continuously and constantly. It makes me so frustrated! Don't they have other people to stare? (zero percent cringe involved in that)

As I made my way from the main hall where all the lockers are aligned, I did nothing but look down and brisk walk to my own locker.

''Hey!'' A voice came from behind just as I reached my locker. Sighing, I turned around, pushing something which hopefully was a smile on my face.

''Hello'' I greeted the rather tall boy known as ''Michael Grey'', Or maybe 'Mike' but more commonly as ''Rustlewood's Golden Boy''. Actually I didn't understand if the name was because he had Whitish blond hair or because he was the most popular guy in Rustlewood High.

''How are you beautiful? Heard that you are new here.'' He asked in a manner which wasn't foreign to me. I have been hearing these flirty comments all my life. I had actually just moved here to Rustlewood High due to some of the  courses they offer here which weren't offered at my old school. I really needed a career in biology. It's my passion. I am quiet good in sciences as well. I guess I need to go and h-

''I am waiting sweety.'' Someone interrupted me and I regained my senses only to look up at the same guy Michael still standing in front of me and smirking.

''Yeah...uh...I-I am new.'' I answered his question hoping he'd go away. But I guess he had other plans since he changed his posture into a more comfortable one and moved his arm right next to my head probably on my locker and leaned in front of my face. I decided to keep my eyes lowered.

''I really hope we have a class or two together. It will be fun'' He said in a way which creeped my angels away and I had to do everything within me to not flinch at him. He pulled back after a moment too long and walked away nonchalantly. Letting out a breathe that I didn't knew I was holding, I turned to face my locker because my lecture schedule is in there. To my unfortunate luck, but every other girl's dream, right there on my blue locker, was a yellow note with a number and a single letter.

-M

''Could this day get any betterrrr'' I sing songed, my voice promising fantasy feels but only my heart knew getting numbers on lockers was so boring and unattractive.

I placed the note inside and stared at the schedule pasted on my locker's inside. Okay...so it turns out that my first lecture on Mondays is Biology. Great! Let's see what's waiting for me. I gathered the books and began walking to the bio lab. Since the semester had already started and I was a late admission, I will have to manage stuff quickly and get the hang of things plus get the notes of the topics I have missed. Walking into the lab, I looked around to find everyone already seated and doing something with microscopes and petri dishes.

''Looks like you are late Ms...?'' Our Bio professor, Mr. Sidney, asked in his authoritative voice.

''Sarah Carson'' I said my name.

''Ms. Carson, since you are a new student, I will give you this one time on being late. Next time, it will be detention for you. Come on in now, we already have a project started from the end of last week. It is supposed to be a task you have to do in pairs and hopefully you don't mind taking a seat next to Mr. Rosefield over there since he is the only one who was somehow having no person to pair with.'' Mr. Sidney finished and I nodded and glanced as to where he wanted me to sit. In the far left corner, I saw a tense boy looking at me with wide eyes. Moving his pupils in horizontal manner quite furiously. I had to stifle a laugh as I made my way silently to the chair next to him. He sulked his head onto his hands and made a weird sound which can come in both groan and scream category.

''Is there a problem Mr. Rosefield?'' The professor spoke again.

The boy's head whipped up at him as he shook his head no, before taking in a sigh and glancing at me.

''I told you to say no'' He said lowly.

''When?'' I simply asked. Well I don't remember talking to him. It is the first time I have ever met this guy!

''When I was literally breaking my eyes trying to move my pupils in the no manner!'' He whisper-yelled at me. I could feel my eyebrows furrowing and then I understood what he meant.

''Ohhh...That...Well you moving your eyes in a horizontal movement didn't look like you were telling me something. I looked like you were going crazy'' I retorted with a low chuckle.

''I am gonna go crazy now...'' He muttered under his breathe.

''Did you say something?'' I asked innocently. I can be annoying at times, I know!

''Yeah! I said to help me set this thing up!'' He said with an angry side to his voice. It looked like he couldn't do it right because he almost broke the thing in trying to push it into place. Feeling scared because the equipment might break any moment, I suddenly found myself moving forward to snatch the sample.

''Hey that's mine! you make your own! You can't have the good marks by using my sample!'' He tried to snatch back but I shoved his hands away.

''Back off!'' I smacked his hand. Hard and he finally settled down. ''Mister Good Marks doesn't even know that this sample could break if I hadn't intervened.'' I said while pulling the clips up swiftly and putting the sample between them and adjusting the lens.

''There!'' I said, content with my own bio skills.

''Looks like Miss Annoying has some brains instead of just a non stop chattering mouth.'' he mumbled.

''It's Sarah Carson, Not Miss Annoying!'' I couldn't stop myself from speaking up. No one. Absolutely No one gets to mess up my name!

''Oh yeah? Then it's Jamie Rosefield and NOT Mister Good Grades!'' He huffed back.

Honestly,

Why do I feel this guy and I will be spending a long time together?
