Chapter 53 The Next Morning
I stretched my arms, yawning and keeping my eyes shut. If I kept them closed, then the morning would not have come, and I would still be in a peaceful slumber.
I stretched my legs and one of my bare legs brushed against someone else's. I turned and blinked my eyes open to see Travis was still asleep. One arm laid on top of me, holding me. The other laid between the small space that separated us, his fingers slightly curled beside his head. I smiled gently and moved closer, close enough to smell him, but far enough so that his breath was barely brushing my shoulder. I traced my fingers along his hand that now rested in front of me as the rest of his arm draped over my waist.
I tensed a little when I heard Travis inhale deeply, waking up.
He pulled me tight against him, kissing my shoulder that showed because his oversized shirt had slipped to reveal it. And he mumbled a sleepy good morning.
"How long have you been awake?" He whispered drowsily, rubbing his thumb in circles on my stomach.
"Only a few minutes..." I trailed off, remembering everything from the night before.
And I didn't regret it.
"Katelyn?"
"Yeah?" I asked, rolling over to face him. His eyes were slitted, him being still too tired to open them fully. His jawline had a few stray hairs that were growing from not shaving yet, and his hair was a complete and utter mess. He looked beautiful.
"I know this is probably a terrible time..." He started, pausing to yawn a little and stretch his limbs. "But you wanna talk about this mess?"
I pondered the question, thinking about the possible outcomes. Perhaps we could be happy to get it out of the way. Or we can just forget that it ever happened, possibly coming back to bite us later on.
"I don't think it's important. You're right. We weren't really in a commitment. I think we should just...forget about the stupid kiss." He nodded in consideration, mulling over the words and twisting his lips in thought.
"I like that idea. One more question...."
"And what's that?" I asked, bracing myself on an elbow and resting my head against my palm.
"You wanna start a commitment? The whole boyfriend and girlfriend thing?" My heart sped up, and I felt an involuntary blush creep it's way to my cheeks.
"I'd....love to...." I managed, smiling and wrapping my arms around him in a hug. He laughed and kissed the side of my head.
"Now, answer the texts."
"What?" I blanked, searching my thoughts and memories for something that was related to his comment.
"Your phone has been buzzing like crazy, something tells me no one knows you snuck out..." He teased, grinning slyly and winking. I rolled my eyes and grabbed my phone on the nightstand. He was right. It was vibrating like crazy. How I didn't notice that, I had no clue. I unlocked it and looked through the notifications. "Who is it?"
"Mostly Nicole," I sighed, "a few from Garroth." I sat up more and leaned against the wall, pulling Travis' shirt up to cover my chest some more.
N: Katelynnnnn, you in the bathroom?
N: Dude. Where are you?
N: KATELYN WHERE ARE YOU?!?!
I groaned and scrolled quickly through, not reading the worried frenzy that was Nicole. I heard Travis laugh a little and I typed a message.
K: Nicole, love, calm down. I'm fine.
N: THEN WHERE ON EARTH ARE YOU?!?!
K: I'm with Travis! I'm okay!
N: Prove it! Send me a picture of where you are so that I know you weren't kidnapped!!!
I inhaled sharply and bit my lower lip.
"Something wrong?" Travis was staring at my face, smiling tiredly and running his fingers absently down my arm.
"Nicole wants a picture to prove I'm alright." Travis laughed a little and sat up, scooting beside me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and then plucked my phone from my hand. He turned on the camera and kissed my cheek and took the picture. "We can't send that to her. She'll die of a heart attack. Here." I turned on the camera and took a simple selfie while making an annoyed face. Travis grinned his stupidly beautiful smile.
I sent the second picture to Nicole, knowing the floodgates that I would be opening with the picture. I turned off my phone, not wanting to deal with it, and tossed it to the foot of the bed.
"I should probably get home though..." I sighed, turning my attention back to my boyfriend. He frowned and pulled me tightly against him.
"I just wanna wait in this moment. A little tiny bit longer," he begged a little. I smiled, holding his jaw gently and pecking his lips. "I missed you," he whispered.
"I missed you, too."
He finally let me go, and I crawled out of bed, gathering pieces of clothing from around the room. I put on my PJs from the other night and walked over to the lazy boy still in bed. I leaned down and pecked his lips, when I pulled away, he pulled me in for a little longer of a kiss. I ran my hand through his hair once before putting on my shoes and leaving.
I got home, hesitant to open the door. But before I could even touch the doorknob, the door swung open. Garroth stood on the other side, crossing his arms and staring at me sternly.
"And just where were you last night?" He rose a brow, his frame bigger than me sadly. I couldn't see past him, or get past him.
"With a friend."
"We only have two friends here."
"Wow," I laughed awkwardly, "you make us sound pathetic."
"Where were you?"
"She was with Travis~" Nicole purred from behind him, holding her phone up. Garroth looked at it and his blue eyes widened. I looked away, staring at the ground.
"You're wearing his shirt....and you're in bed....you two fucked."
"You make me sound so slutty," I grumbled, crossing my arms tightly.
"Get inside."
A/N There we go, threw in some fluff for good measure cause I love you all. Had an okay day today. Anyways. I love you all, byeeeeee.
