The Discovery Part 1!

A woman with short brown hair walks into a bedroom, drawings on the walls, a book about fairytales on the nightstand, and a sleeping red haired teenager under pink covers.

"Wake up, sleepy head! The sun's been up for ages!" The woman said, gently trying to wake up her daughter.

The teenage girl, still half asleep, mumbles her response: "Just five more minutes, Mom." She turned back over, wanting to sleep in. After all, the alarm never went off.

Her mom, getting an idea, decides to play a trick on her sleepy daughter, wanting her to help. "You're late Bloom!" She exclaimed. After all, she was tired enough to easily be tricked.

Bloom immediately jumps out of bed, then quickly takes a shower, drying her hair with a towel, and putting her clothes on as she said her response: "School! Oh no! Why didn't you wake me up before? Oh, the alarm didn't go off! Oh no! I can't believe this! Hang on a sec, school's out! The alarm didn't go off because I'm on vacation! Oh mom, your joke isn't funny!" Bloom exclaimed, pulling her hair out of her shirt

"Bloom . . . Well, you fell for it, didn't you?" Her mother asked, giggling at her reaction.

"I'm sleepy, I'm going back to bed." Bloom said, yawning as she climbed back into bed.

"You should try going to bed earlier, you know. You were up really late last night." The brown haired woman said, making a very mom statement.

"I was reading . . ." Bloom admitted.

"Fairies: Myth or Reality? Urgh, don't you ever get tired of these silly things?" The woman, Vanessa, asked.

"They're not silly, okay?" Bloom said, defending her book. The story was the one place her mind could escape to, without being judged by others.

"Actually, now that school is over, you can help me in the shop!" Vanessa suggested, in the mom way that meant not helping wasn't an option, as she walked to the bedroom door.

"No!" Bloom exclaimed, before storming out of her room, going downstairs.

"Good morning sunshine!" said a blonde haired man, recognizing that his daughter was in a mood.

" I am not going to spend my summer working in the shop! I wish I could go somewhere fun with my friends!" Bloom exclaimed, her voice raised.

"When you're older you can go wherever you want." Her father, Mike said, newspaper in hand.

"How old is older? I'm already sixteen Dad . . ." Bloom said, making a point, hands on her hips.

Mike stares at Bloom, imagining her as a toddler with pigtails and overalls.

"Dad! It's not fair!" Bloom shouted.

"Listen, in a few weeks, we will all be flying to the beach as we do every year." Mike said, wanting to calm his teenage daughter.

"But all my friends go on holidays by themselves, that would've been the best present ever." Bloom admitted, influenced by what her other friends do.

"Well sweeties, no presents but we have a little surprise for you!" Vanessa exclaimed.

"Ya, a little something to help you around Gardenia!" Mike said, excited for her reaction to the new thing on wheels.

"Really! Thanks dad!" Bloom said, running outside, excited to find a scooter. "Huh?" Bloom asked, seeing a bike, with a basket full of pink flowers.

"Nice huh?" Mike asked, proud of his purchase for his 16 year old baby girl.

"Oh well . . . ya, thanks . . ." Bloom said, in shock that it was just a bicycle.

"See she doesn't know what to say!" Mike exclaimed, excited that she was speechless.

"I don't know, maybe she was expecting something, a bit more . . . sophisticated." Vanessa admitted, recognizing their daughter's disappointment.

"A bicycle with a speedometer? Maybe . . . " Mike asked, clueless as ever.

"A scooter Mike!" Vanessa said, scolding her husband.

"But scooters are dangerous and they cost a lot of money." Mike said, protective of their adopted daughter. He knew that they'd have to tell Bloom the truth about her being adopted someday.

"We will try to put some money aside, maybe next year we could get her one." Vanessa said, before walking inside with him. She knew that their secret was on his mind.
