Newt part 2
Newt watched as two very tall elves came toward him.
"This is not good!" He whispered.
Suddenly Elrond shouted, "Wait!" Then he looked up as if he were listening intently to an invisible voice.
"Yes? What? As you say." He muttered.
Turning back to all before him he sai, "Do not touch the stranger. Lady Galadriel has spoken."
Newt noticed as Gandalf had a goofy grin on his face. The runner decided to use this information later.
"What has she said?" Asked Aragorn.
Elrond glanced at the runner oddly. "She says his work must not be interrupted. No matter the cost."
"The cost? What cost?" Grumbled the dwarf.
"Oh didn't I tell you? I'm selling girl scout cookies for my troop, 250." Newt said sarcastically.
Eager reader- AHHH!! why do you keep bringing up that accursed number??
Me- it's a big chunk of his life.
Eager reader- and his last... *runs away in tears*
Unfortunately the sarcasm was lost to the hobbits. Newt found himself surrounded by two of them.
"I'll take two dozen!" Said one with an accent.
"Do you have any Thin Mints?" Asked the other.
"Foolish hobbits!" Thundered Gandalf.
The hobbits slunk away in gear of both the wizard's anger and possibly his morning breath.
"This boy is to journey with the fellowship." Said Elrond.
"A vote should be taken." Said the tall blonde man, who is Boromir.
"Aye!" Bellowed the dwarf.
Gandalf rolled his eyes. "We have not the time to vote. We must Haste, Haste, Haste!" With each "Haste" he banged his staff at the ground for emphasis.
"I shall not travel with anyone who breathes a word of hair-less elves." Legolas said angrily.
The dwarf then had an open door of which to taunt the elf.
"Balding elves! A sight I long to see."
Aragorn knelt down and whispered to the dwarf.
"Not wise to taunt one elf, in a land full of elves."
The two hobbits made their way back to Newt and asked about those girl scout cookies. Newt ignored the halflings. Quite an uproar was erupting.
All at once, the once sunny and bright sky grew dark and errie. A chill ran up the runner's spin and he looked about uneasy. He knew enough to not trust a darkening sky.
Gandalf shushed everyone and turned to look at the sky.
"The evil is growing, Elrond. We must away now! The boy will join us, as Galadriel has commanded."
"That seems to be no more than a storm." Responded the wise elf.
"Nay. We must leave now. The council is at it's end."
"Yes." Added Legolas as he too felt what was, what is, and somethings that have not yet come to pass.
Suddenly the fears of Gandalf were proven to be true-
Reader- let me guess? Glitter again?
Me- yup! Thanks for asking. It helps to avoid any confusion.
Large, black, hairy, skinny, creepy, furry, nasty and gross long spider legs crept inside the room.
"Spiders!" Screamed Merry
"Spiders!" Screamed Pippin
"Mr. Frodo!" Screamed Sam as he looked about anxiously for his best friend.
"Where is Frodo!?" Cried Sam.
No one could answer for Elves, the dwarf and men charged at the spiders.
"Safe the hobbits!" Called Elrond as he slices a leg off a spider.
Newt watched in awful fear as the thought of Grievers filled his mind. He did what he always did. He ran.
Down the hall and through the last homely house of Elrond he raced. Unfortunately the Spiders had already let themselves in the front door, not even bothering to knock. Everywhere, elves hung from the ceiling, wrapped in the spiders webs.
"AAAHHHHH!!" Screamed Newt as he remembered those bodies that had hung from the ceiling in the beginning of the Scorch Trials. (You all know what I'm talking about?)
Newt quickly dodged the spiders and ended up hiding in a corner, unseen.
Yes, this fandom has been over-run by spiders. Before long the fellowship had found its way downstairs, fighting valiantly. Unfortunately they were highly outnumbered and so found themselves stung, webbed and hanging from the ceiling.
Newt kept quiet and clicked his heels three times. "There's no place like the Glade! There's no place like the Glade! Wait- what am I saying?!"
All of a sudden an invisible hand grabbed Newt by the shoulder and pulled him back.
"Hush!" Said a voice.
"Who's that?" Whispered Newt fearfully.
"Frodo. Now keep quiet. We need to think of a plan."
Newt was slightly relieved to not be alone but was uncomfortable with the thought of an invisible person behind him.
'What a clever trick for avoiding Grieves though.' He thought greedily.
He was ready at ask what made Frodo invisible when suddenly a gleam of light caught the runner's eye. As a spider was placing Aragorn upside down, something shiney slipped through the webs, and laid exposed around the Ranger's neck.
'The Evenstar! That is what I need!' Thought Newt as the reason for his being there was clear.
To be continued...
I didn't plan for things to be so intense.....
