A young child of Hades was wandering through the caverns of the underworld, Multiple locations such as Elysium and Tarturus were amongst the places that resigned in the world of Hades. A river known as the River Styx flowed seven times throughout the darkened lands to the brightened world of Elysium helped to create a division between the two worlds. Sam Golbach liked to explore his father's realm. After what happened to his half-sister Bianca Di Angelo, Hades never allowed Sam to leave the castle. Most Gods seemed to think that Hades was a terrible person when he wasn't and was only misunderstood. Sam got bored of the castle and wanted to go out. Thankfully, Hades allowed him to leave but told him not to travel too far.

Through his travels, he came across a dark tunnel on the opposite side of the underworld. Sam checked his leather pouch to make sure that he had enough Pomegranate seeds. The pomegranate seeds helped any child of Hades survive in a deep sleep in a case of emergencies. Sam fixed his blonde hair when a raspy voice called out to him.

"Samuel," the voice said. "Come to me, child, set me free!" Sam leaned forward wondering who or what was just trying to talk to him. He couldn't see the end, but the voice seemed to get louder.

"Who's there?" Sam called out. The demigod inched his way through the tunnel entrance, keeping his guard up and dagger out. Sam came out to find a large rock formation. The rocks touched the tips of the other forming a large man-made entrance. He walked closer and saw a large wooden door with an iron chain.

"Sam." the voice repeated.

Sam touched the cool metal of the door handle and pulled it open. An explosion exploded from the doorway, causing Sam to fly and land a few feet away.

"Finally!" A large being exclaimed, it was made out of fire and started forming itself into a human being. "I can destroy this world and defeat the Olympians!" it looked down at him with fire and hatred in its eyes. "Thank you, Samuel, for releasing me!" the thing laughed. Sam backed away and tried to escape, But the being appeared before him. "I cannot get to the human world without a body, and because you've been so kind to free me, I will use you!" Sam held out his dagger ready to attack the monster and despite only having a small weapon he hoped that he could defeat this creature.

"Hell no!" Sam yelled. "I won't let you in! You will return to where you came from!" The entity ran at him but in a string of good luck, his half-brother, Sean, appeared before him.

"Chaos!" Sean yelled. "You will not attack my brother!" pulling out his bident, Sean was ready to kill. "Sam! Get out of here! I'll hold Chaos off for as long as I can," he continued. "Shadow travel to the son of Ares in California!" without hesitation, Sam took off and traveled out of the underworld and to California.
