Chapter One
Mark had been in his backyard practicing his sword fighting skills. Halfway through his training, he stopped mid-swing when an eerie and suspenseful moment came over him. Shrugging the feeling aside, he went back to training when he heard a twig snap and someone sneaking up behind him. In a quick movement, he swung his sword, nearly killing a young blonde if he hadn't ducked first.
"What the hell were you trying to do?! Chop off my head?!" exclaimed the young kid. Mark frowned at him and placed his sword back in the sheath.
"You snuck up on me." Mark responded and grabbed his water. Taking a seat on one of the lawn chairs, he pulled out his phone and went through it, acting like he was not paying attention. Mark took a drink of water.
"Are you Mark Fischbach? Son of Ares?" the kid asked.
"Who wants to know?" Mark responded.
"I need your help." he said. Mark glanced at his phone, an eyebrow raised. "With what? I don't even know you."
"My name is Sam Golbach, son of Hades." Mark examined Sam from his head to his toes, all dressed in nothing but black, along with a brown satchel hanging over his shoulder.
"I wasn't aware that he had another son." Mark responded and focused on his phone again, mostly scrolling through twitter at all his followers. He laughed to himself, thinking about how not only did Amy not know, but even his followers. Sure, he didn't want to hide it from them, but the simplest explanation, if he were to tell them, they'd think it was a joke. So, living a normal life, he found his love for YouTube and played video games for a living. Even Sean helped him out. They worked together selling fan apparel, which also skyrocketed their fandom.
"Are you just gonna sit there on your phone or are you going to help me?" Sam asked, growing impatient. Turning off his phone, and keeping it calm and collected, Mark placed it in his pocket and stood. "Look, you don't have to like me, but I released Chaos into our world." Mark stumbled over himself and narrowed his eyes. The last time that happened, he and Sean had to return his father's sword before Chaos touched it. Hatred filled him, but he kept calm. Unlike his siblings back at camp, he cared for the big three children. He remembered making a deal with Sean and Percy, saying that he would help them if needed.
"What's the catch?" Mark asked. Sam rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. "If you need my help, I need to know what I'll get." Sam paused, thinking, and seemed to struggle about what to say.
"Let's get to camp half blood and talk to Chiron and the oracle, then I'll figure out what to do about your reward." Sam answered. Mark sighed. He wanted to hide that part of his life, the one that always made him feel like an outsider, but as a demigod son of the war god, he would get pulled into it. With Chaos free, he'd go after all the demigods in the world. If he had a vessel. Mark shuddered at the thought of seeing Dionysus, or even Chiron. Chiron, he remembered, did not like how he just gave up on his other half. The year he arrived at Camp half blood, they offered him to become a camp counselor for his cabin, but he turned it down since he wanted to lead a normal life. The biggest thing, he remembered his training at the camp, it was one of his favorite places to be. Mark had joked to Amy about being half god, but it made sense that she wouldn't believe him.
"Fine," Mark said. "I'll help, but only until we can defeat Chaos and send him back to the pit where he came from." Sam grew excited and hugged him, causing Mark to stiffen. Sam pulled back and thought about how they'd get to camp half-blood.
"You can shadow travel, concentrate on where you want to go and you'll be able to travel halfway across the country." Sam nodded and grabbed onto Mark's arm.

Sam finally arrived in California where the child of Ares, Mark Fischbach, lived. At first, he had a hard time telling if Mark was the person Sean had said. But when he saw the fiery red hair and his fast reflexes, it made sense. He'd heard about Mark getting away from his other life and found it hard to believe he'd give that up. Shaking his head, Sam needed to keep his head in the game. With Chaos on the loose, he'd have to get as much help as possible. He pulled Mark into the shadows and closed his eyes while he gripped onto Mark's arm. Sam felt a tension between the time that he had shadow traveled from California to New York.
Shadow traveling made it hard on his body since he would get exhausted. Not long after traveling, Mark and Sam arrived in New York and made their way to Long Island Sound. Camp half blood was on the top of the hill, hidden from mortal eyes, and protected by a large tree with a golden fleece. They crossed the boundary line and made their way to the big house. When they approached the big house, they saw Mr. D in a loud clown shirt and Chiron and young Rachel Dare sitting outside on the porch.
"Mark?" Rachel said in surprise. "What are you doing here? And who's that?" she asked. Mr. D was the first to respond, despite Sam's distaste for the man.
"Sam Golbach," Mr. D said. "Hard to believe Hades let you out."
"I snuck out of the castle," Sam turned toward Chiron. "Chiron, can we talk to you? It's important." Chiron nodded and placed his cards on the table before rolling into the house in his wheelchair. Mark and Sam followed him inside.
"What seems to be the problem?" Chiron asked.
"Well sir," Mark said. "Sorry that we barged into camp in a hurry, but you should hear this." Sam gulped and looked between Chiron and Mark. He wanted to hide it, but changed his mind. Either way, he'd be in trouble.
"Chaos is free." Sam said without sugarcoating it.
"What?!" Chiron yelled, then calmed down. "Mark, did you know about this?"
"I did. I was behind my house in California, training, when he arrived in my backyard." Chiron stroked his beard thoughtfully. "Sam, talk to Rachel and see what she says," he continued. "Until it's settled, stay at camp," he kept going. "When we know about the prophecy, we'll let you go on your quest." Sam nodded and walked out of the house to talk with Rachel. Before he could utter a word out, he already had a feeling that the quest would not be easy.
